POSSIBLE ZELDA GAMECUBE SHOTS!

UPDATE ON THE SCREENSHOTS!

Okay, I've had a few people respond to me telling me that these images are NOT from Zelda for GameCube. Apparently these constitute a collection of screenshots from a television commercial for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons for Gameboy Color, and Zelda: Oracle of Ages for Gameboy Color. I have not as of yet seen this commercial, so obviously I had no basis to compare them to. However if you follow where I'm going with this, SOMEBODY or agency offically related to Nintendo had to create those images, rendering them in some type of developmental platform, belonging to either Nintendo Ltd. or Capcom the chief producers of the Gameboy Color games. This being the case, it is safe to put forth that Nintendo has the capacity to directly or indirectly produce FMV's of this caliber, FMV's of Zelda, a game we all know and love. Albeit this is conjectural on my part but with that capacity being in place, it would seem a worthy statement to say that this COULD be what ZELDA on GameCube MIGHT look potentially like. That being said, it would be the Final Fantasy killer. Should Nintendo go the route I've seen in those screenshots, they would be liable to sell millions of GameCubes and Zelda games. It would be a sound financial decision in the faultering Japanese gaming market to produce a killer app that will eclipse Pokemon both in Japan, America, and Europe.

Zelda is the game that mature gamers grew up with on the NES and later SuperNES, the game has reached legendary status in the video gaming history. It's something in our memories from a time of innocence, and as such we invisioned a true adventure across a fantasy world filled with monsters, an evil wizard Ganon, a mysteriously benevolent princess Zelda, and an all powerful force called the Triforce. With simply those basic sprites, and that grany pixelated representation of a hero in the green tunic whole journeys were crafted. The potential to capitalize on those images in the mind's of older gamers that grew up with the classics is an untapped resource that I would hope Nintendo would see fit to revitalize the feeling that was once had. The whole Zelda 64-Majora's Mask episode was a taste of that potential, and GameCube represents a tool to actualize it.

Finally, something happens in the realm of Zelda and Nintendo that is potentially big news. Apparently a sharp eyed visitor to my sites, Nathan, discovered a site, that was posting images of Zelda for Gamecube that I had never seen before, other than the ones that were on display late last year at the Nintendo GameCube unveiling. I can neither confirm nor deny the authenticity of the screenshots on this page, but they are compelling. These have been reposted from the website, nintendelay.co.uk (they deserve credit for their origin), and the site is currently closed for repairs apparently when I go there. These shots look realistic, like Hi Res FMV's actually. That almost seems beyond the even the GameCube's rendering capability however you never know. Frankly, it's tantalizing to say the least. I mean look at how awesome that looks. Look at link. Look at the textures. WOW! to put it simply.

Credit for these goes to the website: www.nintendelay.co.uk, however the site is currently shut down.

Okay maybe these are a hoax, but I'm personally leaning on that not being the case due to the rendering quality in those screenshots. They look Full Motion Video as we've seen on the Playstation, however it would be rather difficult for just your average joe to Render multimillion polygonal full motion video without a lot of time and expensive hardware.

Only at E3 will we know for sure if this is the real Zelda, and what the fate of the series will become in the future. Frankly, if this is real, then I'm just stoked. This is the Zelda game I've been dreaming of since I was a little kid. The Odyssey of Hyrule will be featuring an exlusive on this year's E3, and my field correspondant, Heckl,e will be providing first hand impressions of all the games at this years convention.
