Andi L. McCloud Expresses: I have a friend. (Save the wiseass remarks for later, please) We both know
someone who thinks he is the GOD of gaming, as far as certain carts are
concerned. I was at a party at one point this summer which was a combined
celebration of said friend's birthday, and said 'game-god's' (laugh if you
need to, ladies) farewell as he was shipping off into the Navy or
Marines...it's been a while and I can't remember...anyhoo, we all sat down
in front of the television at my aforementioned friend's home to a rousing
ass-whupping contest in the form of Super Smash Brothers...(REALLY
invigorating game, actually...I LOVE the endscene if you beat it one player
mode as Link....*ahem*...he's still my cute elfin hero-man...) but that's
beside the point. My story starts at one particular round. We're on the
Yoshi stage (second most annoying one in the game...Samus Aran's stage is
FIRST...mumble mumble...stupid acid...), and it's a free-for-all
four-player, beat-the-ass-off-everyone-else-before-you-get-creamed-yourself
kind of tourney. Only the best of the best will make it out alive. I was
the only girl playing against three guys...two of whom were very good at
that sort of tournament. One was actually pretty nice...another friend of
mine, but the one was the aforementioned *snicker* 'game-god.' Well, nice
guy number one got beat down pretty early...maybe his choice of Pikachu
(death to electric rodents!!!) was a bad one...we may never know...nice guy
number two left next (my fault...I never have been able to stand that
Captain Falcon character...who the HELL is he, anyway? He's a
SPAZ!!!)...and then it was down to just me and self-proclaimed 'game-god.'
We beat the hell out of each other for a while, and then it got down to the
wire. *I* was playing as none other than our DEAR Hero of Time...(the only
other character I use is Fox McCloud...I have a soft spot for revengeseeking
Arwing pilots, too)...and HE was playing as another character...Samus, or
something like that. I don't remember.
To make a long story short (shut up, I already KNOW it's too late for that),
I beat his as DOWN!! Self-proclaimed 'game-god' got his ass whalloped by a
GIRL!!! Ye GODDESSES, that felt good!! And that was after the putz had
told me that 'maybe I might want to sit this one out...it's not going to be
a pleasant match.'
I almost killed him right then and there.
Don't you just HATE it when they patronize?
I got applause from several of the other party guests, most of whom were
male, and one who told me afterward that he 'really enjoyed watching me kick
the crap out of Mr. Ego,' and also, 'You're a very dangerous little person,
aren't you?'
That last one was such a gaming compliment that I fogave him the use of the
word 'little', as I was laughing too hard to do much about it ANYWAY. And
my short temper communicates itself well to my gaming abilities. the madder
I get, the beter aim I have...especially when playing StarFox 64, or Descent
II on my PC...*shrugs* Go figure that one. But anyhoo, I just thought you
might like to hear another stoy of girl-related triumph in a formerly
male-dominated society...POWER TO THE X-CHROMOSOME!!
LONG LIVE THE HERO OF TIME!!!
A couple things I forgot to add...I think one of the reasons that girls can
do just as well (or sometimes better) than guys on certain games like
Ocarina, etc is the fact that it's easier for a girl to create an emotional
bond with the characters of the game. Hence the fact that we're less
willing to throw Link into a no-win scenario (I don't believe in the no-win
scenario...there IS no such thing as a Kobayashi Maru) and watch him die,
because we then feel guilty about it. I know I do. Ask any one of my
friends and they will tell you-from personal experience watching me
play-that I apologize whenever he gets hurt. I talk to the screen (shut thy
mouth, wiseass...I care not who thout art), I have conversations with the
characters, and I usually feel really bad when or if Link manages to get
himself killed. That actually hasn't happened in quite a while. I think
the last time I died was when I was playing and talking on the phone at the
same time...I'm very single-minded and so when I tried to do both at once
while fighting Ganondorf, well, let's just say that all my cnocentrations
skills, timing, and coordination went screaming rightou t the proverbial
second story window...I couldn't connect Biggoron's Sword with that stupid
ball of painful magic for any amount of rupees in Hyrule :D
But seriously, though. The bond with our main characters makes us a force
to be reckoned with. To this day, the only game villain that has ever been
able to make the hair stand up on the back of my neck is the one and only
King of Evil, Ganondorf himself...the Prince of Darkness. Yeesh. I still
hate him. And most of that stems from my own writing on the Zelda timeline
where he does nasty things to our Hero or his Princess (and they ARE
supposed to be an item, DAMMIT!!). That in itself makes it all worthwhile
to go again and again up the seemingly neverending stairs to that tower and
the fateful confrontation in which Link beats the hell out of Mr. Ugly.
(Silly as it may soung, I don't even like saying his NAME). Time after
time, I thrill sat the ending sequence in which Mr. Ugly (and boy, is he
EVER) is thrown forcefully into the void of the Evil Realm, to do nothing
but float in an abyss of nothingness, cursing the Sages, Zelda, and Link for
eternity...
I find that fun. Of course, according to one of my best girlfriends, I have
a penchant for violence, literary, artistically, or electronically. Which
isn't to say that I'd just randomly pick up a sharp metal stick (trans-'a
sword') and start randomly killing things. Although I HAVE wanted to on
occasion. But anyhoo, POWER TO THE WOMEN OF GAMING!! I say we can kick just
as much ass as the guys in the electronic world...and that we could beat
them down if and WHEN we are given the opportunity!!
H Naraine Comments: Hi! I am a girl who loves videogames and my all time favourite is Zelda! and
let me tell all the boys who think girls love only those mushy stuf,THINK AGAIN!
Of coarse Link is the hottest guy I know but I like playing because of the challange!
I'm 12 right now and I have been playing videogames since I could remember. I got N64
when I was 10 years old and the first games I received were Zelda and 007. I loved Zelda
atomaticly. I spent hours playing it and my parents got really pissed. But I just couldn't
stop. After I passed Zelda I started on 007. I passed that game in a snap! Everytime my
coison Richie(14)came over(he is the video champ), he always challanges me to a match in
007. And as always, I beat him everytime! Then he would challange me again and again untill
he wins(which is once on a blue moon). I hope that proved that girls can be just as good
(or even better)at videogames.
Laurie Havitz Says:
I've been playing video games as long as I can remember, playing Mario on the original Nintendo system. I thought
it stunk, and went back to my Barbies. Then, as a reward for getting my new belt in Karate( I'm a tomboy), I got a
Game Boy Pocket and Pokemon Blue. That's when I became a Girl Gamer. First, my 3 best friends, who are boys,
shrugged me off. Then, I got a hold of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. That is still my favorite game, and
I've had it for 2 years. Now, my gaming library has, for my Game Boy Color: Donkey Kong Land 3, The Legend of
Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, Pokemon Yellow and Gold, and Dragon Warriors 1 and 2. For my Nintendo 64: Donkey
Kong 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, and Pokemon Stadium. Im also a fan of fighting
games, because I'm awesome at Super Smash Bros. with Jigglypuff.
Kelly Says: Hey, thanks for putting up this section for girls. My name's Kelly and
I'm 14 years old. I've been playing games for a really long time and my
favorite is (no surprise here) The Legend of Zelda! I love playing video
games whenever I can and I bet I could take all of you guys to school!
There was this one time when I went over to a guy's house and he wanted
to play GoldenEye. He probably thought it was going to be a real cinch
to beat me, but I kicked his ass! Never even played it before! Sorry, I
don't mean to brag, but I'm really mad about this male-dominated-video
game society. I think there's going to be a lot more girl gamers pretty
soon. Thanks again! Thanks for the great site, X. Your site is the best for all Zelda stuff.
Girl Lynk Says: This might be getting old but I happen to be a girl and I luv to play vidoe games. I don't have n64 but my friend (yes a
girl) has it and she is really good. I can't say I'm the best but my friend says I have a 'knack' for it. I suppose I'm
good cause i hate to lose, i won't stop until my mom comes to gt me cause, like I said, I don't have it. Alas *sighs*
if only. Recently my friend got Zelda: The Orcarina of Time. At this time, I knew the other games but I hadn't tried
this one. I tried it and fell in love with it. I have to admit I am not the greatest but I am still 'good.
Who says girls can't play video games? If u really believe that, think again buddy.
[email protected] Comments: I'm a 13 year old girl and i have beaten almost every game i have come across
with. me and my best friend (who also happens to be a girl )always have
races to see who can beat the game first. i have beaten zelda 64 and every
time i go over to somebody's house i ask if i can play any of their games on
any system. all the time girls and boys at my school will bring me their
games for me to get past a certain level. i have n 64, playstation, sony
dream cast, and all the old nintendos, but my fav. game is still Zelda 64.
also, in my opinion, Link is sooo, i mean.. soooo fine... he looks better
than mario anyday! i gotta tell ya, girl gamers rule! we just don't sit
around all day and paint our nails or talk to boys on the phone... or at
least i don't. i have been into video games sence i was about 3 and will
always be obsessed with them. the guys need to give us girls some credit...
thanks! (oh i also play a flute in the band and i learned alllll the ocarina
songs on it and it sounds awesome!)
I have NO IDEA how this happened, I just want to see if it has happened to
anyone else. I played Epona's Song outside Hyrule Castle town (as an adult).
I heard Epona whinny and waited, but she didn't come. I turned to face the
gate, there she was on the right side of the opening stuck halfway IN THE
WALL ABOVE THE MOAT!!! I played the song again, saw her run without getting
anywhere. I went to the ranch and played it, and she reappeared like normal.
"Malon" says: OK, I have this guy-friend who thinks he's the king of video games, right? Well, this one time he was at my house and we were
playing Mario Kart 64, and he challeged me to a Rainbow Road spinaround, claiming he was "unbeaten" at that one (I've only been
beaten like, twice on the round), so I accepted. We raced around the super-long track for about 5 minutes, and he was in the lead
(but not by much) at the final lap. I hit a question box and obtained 3 red shells. Sent 'em all his way... he was toast. I passed him
and beat him. That's not all though! He challenged me to a rematch and I kicked his ass AGAIN! A few weeks later, he came over
again. Once more, I toasted him. So there you have it! Not to mention I killed him in the multiplayer part of DK64!
Jaleiza Says: Alright, I don't want to brag, but I consider myself almost a female version of Link. I have a real ocarina that looks exactly like Links, and of
course play it all the time, standing up with my eyes closed, swaying back and forth. I can do Zelda sword attacks with a stick. I have beaten
Zelda64 twice, and working on the third time. I have Link's Awakening DX, have almost beaten it, but don't like it much. I will sit down with this
videogame god ( a boy ) and talk forever, never saying " I've never seen that part! " I kick at Super Smash Bros.. , using Link of course. Girls are
even better than boys, when it comes to video games! Actually, when It comes to everything! >:) NEVER believe that boys are better, or
stronger than girls, because it's a myth! GIRL POWER!!!
Brigitte Says: Hi! I wanna start off by saying that your site is awesome! Long Live Zelda!!
My name is Brigitte and I'm 16 years old. I fell in love with video games at
the tender age of 2, back when I played the old Coleco Vision at my
Grandmother's house. Since the day my oldest brother placed the control in
my hands, I have been a Video game maniac! I don't really remember those
times very well, because I was so young, but according to my brother, you
couldn't pull me away from the tv screen! I was so fascinated with the
effects and sound (Even though they weren't as enhanced as todays modern
graphics).
My favourite games have always been "The Legend Of Zelda" series. Since the
very first NES game, all the way to the most recent "Majora's Mask" I love
the scenarios and concepts of them all. I still don't think I'm an expert,
but I'm working on it :)
I'm a lover of all systems, you name it! I adore the Nintendo64,
Playstation, Dreamcast, NES, SNES and even the old Atari and Intellivision
(Which my friend still miraculously has!). Ok this message is getting pretty
long and I don't wanna write the story of my life! I simply wanted to share
with you, that YES girls like video games too, and lots of them are great at
it (Not me, I'm ok, but not that great!). And I hope that in the future,
there will be more girl video-gamers!
Congrats on the beautiful site! I love it to pieces!!
Video-gamer always..
DuoDSG (The Only Guy on this Page) Says:
Hey,VGX. You've outdone yourself this time. Even though I'm a 15-year old guy, I'm glad you put up that ZeldaGirl section up. So
many guys out there think that girls are inferior to boys when it comes to video games, but that just is not true. I myself have a 5
year-old sister that just loves watching me play Zelda. She is just in awe of the entire game, even though she can't read the more
difficult words. Then one day, I asked her if she wanted to play, and boy was she happy! I've let her play through the entire game
(with me reading sometimes and giving an occasional hint here and there). She's only five, and she's just as good as I am when
fighting any enemy, especially Dinolfos and Lizarfos, which are the hardest enemies, since they jump behind you and you have to
have quick reflexes while using the shield. Again, I'm glad you put up this section, because girls (believe it or not) play video games
just as much as guys do. You've proven what I believed all along-girls are just as good as boys. Also, excellent job on the site. We
can learn a lot from you.
Emily Explains:OK, to start off, I just want anyone who is reading this to understand
that, I may be young ( Sixth Grade, 11 years old ), but I know my games.
Even though I wasn't around for the releases of the earlier Zelda games, I
played them, I enjoyed them, I beat them with pride. Go ahead, throw any game
in front of me and I'll struggle my way through it, even if it takes me a
month or so ( Lunar: 2 Eternal Blue...hehe. ), I will NOT hesitate to beat a
game. The Zelda series is my absolute favorite of 'em all. ( Well...maybe the
Final Fantasy and Lunar series are an exception... ) Anyways, one day, I came
across a little *problem* with Zelda: OoT. I'm ashamed to say this, but I was
scared out of my mind when it came to the Shadow Temple. ( Believe me, now it
feels good to take a sword and slice a Re-Dead's capillaries until he
collapses! ) I had gone to school ! the day after ( this was a long LONG time
ago, sometime in 1999 ) and I was discussing it with my friend who doesn't
know anything about Zelda, but she wanted to listen anyways. A classmate (
whom is a boy and I've known for awhile but really didn't grow to
er..."favor" as a friend ) overheard me and rudely interrupted saying "You
play videogames but you can't even finish one because your scared?! God...I
got past that part quick, maybe you should just quit or let me do it for
you." I was shocked, outraged, and deeply disturbed. I considered it RACISM!
The only thing I thought about that day was, "Oh, so because I'm a girl, I
can't play videogames. And just because I feel frightened of that part means
I should quit, like that?!" It was racing through my mind until the second I
placed foot on my own turf. I raced up stairs and plopped down on my bedroom
floor, my trusty 3 ( Now 4 year old if you want to dig it up in the trash, I got a new one ^-^; ) year old Nintendo 64 controller in hand and well...I
dunno...I think it was juice in the other but I put that down...er...anyways
getting back to the story. I stayed up to 11 something that night determined
to whoop some Bongo-Bongo er...well...hands..o.o;. I was even more pleased to
notice that, doing the Spirit Temple before the Shadow, which would be my
last one, I could go and finally be able to say "WhOOP SOME ASS!" when I
confronted Gannondorf/Gannon. The next, I proved my classmate wrong and was
treated with respect as the only female gamer in my school. u.u
Jamie or the Lady Zelda Says: Good-day fanatic girls who luv nintendo. From reading everybodies story I
got the hint that i was a lot like the rest of you girls out there that put
your comments in. My name is Jamie, I have luved nintendo since... before i
can remember. I remember playing the very first zelda when i was like 4 or
5.. late into nights, my eyes would roll shut but we'd keep playing on and
on.. late into the nights. Now that i am older, i have Zelda 64, and am
awaiting for the mask of majora.. sounds like fun. I have beaten Zelda 64
now nearly 6 times, and still keep restarting once another quest has drawn to
and end. I just want all you girls to know something pretty cool about this
game Zelda though, and that of course is, the title of the game, is a female
character! oh yeah!! Keep whooping the guys everyone, i know i will!
Cathy Says: I've been a gamer for quite some time now. When I was about 6, I got my first taste of games. My first system was the NES, and
I absolutely loved it.
I'd never really been into girls toys much. Yes, I'll admit that I did have an array of My Little Ponies and Barbies when I was
younger, but I also never got the girls toys from the fast food places. I mean, who wants to play with a nonmovable figure with blonde
hair? Not me. I'd rather have a little toy car to amuse me. Well, of course now (I'm 15) I act a little feminine and dress nice, with
makeup, etc., but I still love video games. I have an NES, SNES, 3 Gameboys, A Genesis, a N64, and a PS1(still eagerly awaiting
my chanch to snatch up a PS2!), plus numerous games for each. I'm not here isn't to bash male gamers and brag about how good I
am. I'm not great. I have beaten Zelda64, Final Fantasy VIII, and I'm working on FFIX. In the scheme of things, that isn't much, but
to me, it is. My point is that you don't have to be good at all games. That is only a small part of being a gamer. If that was all, then it
wouldn't just be "game"r; it would be "I'm good at every game"r. The point of video game is to have fun. Enjoy the game. If you don't
enjoy gaming, then you aren't a real gamer, in my opinion.
p.s- Thanks for this section!
"Zora" says: I play Soul Calibur...Counterstrike...Team Fortress
Classic....GoldenEye....Super Mario....Zelda....I Play sooo many! This might
be rude, But Girls loook and Dreeessss SOOOO much Better in boy Games!
And....BOYS are verrry Hot in these games too! Wow! And the girls games are
not that great! If you've played Soul Calibur, Ivy Has the best Coustume! I
do sooo better in Boy games!
"Majora" Explains: Zelda is my favorite Nintendo64 game!!!! We get better scores because we
don't prefer to kill the hero 12,000 times! (no offense to any boys who don't
object to us). Girls are cool too, after all, for example, I like Dragonball
Z and don't care too much for Salor Moon. ( I cant even spell it) I've played
many games and beat them too. Boys are cool, but have no right to say we are
bad gamers. I have completely beaten Majora's Mask and offer help to anyone
who wants it. I also beat OOT and can help there too. The Deku Princess was
soooo feisty!! Please post this. And, I don't undrestand why boys sat that
about us, do they want war? Do they have proof we are bad gamers? Well, got
to go.
Melanie Roordink Wrote: I remember the old Nintendo game consoles and how I'd sit inside playing Mario all day. All this fresh country air around me, and there I was, inside, trying to beat the crap out of other people! Other times, I'd sit with my friends playing Sonic The Hedgehog on the Sega. We finished that about five times and never, ever got sick of it. Until the day it was a certain little brother's 7th birthday. Eyeing his new transparent orange contraption (N64) with growing interest, I started thinking, "We have to get Super Smash Brothers - but there's no way ever I'll be playing as that stupid Link guy. He wears a dress!" You see, our cousin has Super Smash Brothers and I adored that game - except for the "guy in the dress". Had I discovered tunics by then? Anyway, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was hired. I was like, "Why are you getting that game - it's the guy in the dress!?" I refused to ever play it, until one morning, bored out of my wits, I decided to have a "little" go. A few hours later, I was asked to turn the N64 off. "Come on! Let me just get the..." I wasn't pleased when Zelda was returned. But when it was bought, I tried to stay all normal and mature, like, "OK, pretty good," to avoid falling into the children's category of "WOW! Thanks so much. This is SO COOL! I'm gunna play it now! I'm gunna!" (No, I didn't say that, my brother did.) But did he actually get a chance to play it? Despite remaining verbally mature, I seized on the controller and soon after... "I'm bored!" (meaning I'd finished it, not got sick of it - how dare anyone assume that!) My mum said, "I thought you hated Zelda." But I was engrossed in this fantastic new world and flatly replied,"Er, changed my mind." The two-week wait for Majora's Mask seemed more like two years. I retrieved the game the day after it was released in Australia, the day after I saw an ad for it on TV and wouldn't shut up for about an hour, bursting to tell everybody what I'd seen! However, not everyone had yet to know of my new passion... One of my friends told me (as I was HALFWAY through MAJORA'S MASK, thankyou) "I thought you hated Zelda". Deja Vu, I was too busy at that precise moment to explain. "Changed my mind". I loved Majora's Mask and when somebody (nameless - no, NOT my brother actually) started playing in MY file, I got so p***ed off, that I actually hid that one of my three classified "Pride And Joy" items (the others were Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the movie Flatliners)! Beating the crap out of boys in Zelda is what I do best and now I'm devastatingly bored, as I finished Majora's Mask on New Year's Eve (just thought, "Hey it's the new millennium, don't want the world to come to an end and me having not finished Zelda!" No, I didn't really believe the world WOULD come to an end, but I thought it was an appropriate day to finish Zelda, anyway!). Well to all the boys out there who never thought I was the video game type (not many people know me actually, so that's not really an insult to anti-feminine stuff kind-of person I am!), I beat your little butts at Zelda! Oh and by the way, I don't think Link wears
a dress any more! Link rules!
Lauren Bouvier Says: Hey there Video Gamer X! I wish I knew a guy like you in the real world, most guys I know are very dumb, into their own ignorant and pathetic little world. I would go out with you in a second! You are just so cool and I love how you put so much passion into your websites! You must be a very intemate lover based on some of the things of yours I've read. I've been playing video games for a long time, and I often compete with the guys on fighting games and win quite frequently. Some guys in my dorm get kind of competative about it and say that they are letting me off easy because they want me to like them, but I know they are lying. I enjoy role-playing games, like Final Fantasy 8, and fighting games the most, sometimes I will play for hours. They sometimes tease me and say I look like Lara Croft, one time they gave me some guns, I put on some sunglasses, and gave them the pose and they said I looked just like her. I humored their fantasy for a little while then told them to beat it, jokingly of course. I have a Playstation, Nintendo 64, and a Dreamcast, but I haven't gotten a Playstation 2 yet. I probably will soon, they are kind of hard to get right now. I will be getting Gamecube and Xbox too. How could I miss out on all those great games. Well, I just want to say thanks for making all these cool sites, I'll keep coming back! SMOOCH! *gives you a long passionate kiss* ;-) Bye Bye!
Jennifer Says: Hi,my name is Jennifer and I love the ZeldaGirl sections on your website.Being me,I have to tell my story.I have been playing video games forever. My favorite video game is The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. It is even better then Majora's Mask. I have owned it for a long time. The charecters are like my best friends. It took me awhile to beat it. It took me 6 months which is pretty long. Before that I wasn't use to challenges.I use to play video games that weren't hard at all. But because it took me 6 months to beat it,it really showed me how I improved at it. I did spend most of the game stuck in the Water Temple, but now I can beat it alot quicker. I have owned Ocarina of Time for a very long time and ever time I play put it into my N64,I still feel theat increadible feeling from the very first time I put it in. Ocarina of Time was my second video game for N64. Now that i've talked about Ocarina of Time I will talk about what I really wanted to talk about in the first place. The way some guys think that girls are bad at video games. I remember one day I went online and I was talking to this guy about video games. The conversation started out okay, but then when I started talking about video games he was saying that he can't believe that a girl likes these games with fighting involved, and that he thought girls only likeed video games for the love sagas and that they were clueless about anything else in video games. I sure told him!I explained to him that sure us girls enjoy love sagas, but we also like the rest of the game. Another time I was reading these glam magazines and there were a list of "good things about being single". One of the things on the list was "You don't have to say "Thanks for the...uh...playstation game,it really made my birthday memorable." That got me angry. It was portraying girls badly. Then there's articles or advertisments on websites that are like "Games for boys",I couldn't believe it. Also I heard that a gaming magazine had an article as a joke called "Why Girls Shouldn't Play Video Games". Someone else mentioned that on your website.I goto the same messageboard as her and we and alot of other people there had an idea to write a letter to the magazine [which name I will not mention to protect the magazine company]. One of us wrote the email but never got a responce. But the magazine company that I heard online had written it has alot of advertisements for video games that have alot of female charecters that are portrayed as heroines. What's up with that? Are they saying that video games aren't for girls, but in this game all these female charecters play a big part in games? Anyway,I goto this private school I changed to after six years of going to public school. The school is an hour and so are the people who goto it. Anyway,I'm not that popular their, but everyone knows how good I am at video games. So,I get tons of calls from guys all the time asking me for help in certain games. They make me stay on the phone for hours, giving them a full description of how to get past a certain thing, get a certain items, etc. Anyway, after hours of explaining it to them, they thank me andsay how they've been stuck at this area for months or weeks or days or whatever. It makes me feel glad because it must cost alot to make a phone call from so far away and talk for hours. Ashley, who is the leader of her little clique where the most popular girls in school are in thinks of me as "strange",because I play video games and talk about them alot. Now,I will end off with a thankyou to Video Gamer X for making this great section. This is the best site in the world and he is one cool guy to make a section for girls to express their thoughts. Anyway, remember that ZeldaGirls rule!
Silversage Says: hello girls ! ya know i really hate how all my freinds dont have
an interest
in video games like me ! thats to bad! they dont know what there missin!!!
anyways
i cant STAND how guys think girls cant play VG ! whatever! i play very good !

liking vg! & zelda the best ! I'M A ZELDA GIRL !
Kathleen Church says: Hey VGX! I am so glad you made this section! Boys think that girls are weak and can't play videogames, but
are they in for a surprise or what! I remember when I first came to your website, tbi.net, it was actually on an
accident! I got to it through gamewinners.com, and someone put up the website and I clicked on it, and voila! I
got to the tightest Zelda website ever! Literally, your website has zelda music, zelda x-files( I loved that, it was
funny, and very informative) and everything a Zelda lover could want! Anyway, back to the topic... I remember
the first videogame I played. It was Mrio Bros. for NES.(sorry it wasn't zelda) That was when I was 3yrs. old. I
am now 13. That's 10 yrs.! I have a lot of videogames now, more than most boys! I have(just to give you an
idea of how obsessed I am with videogames) about 20 games for my SNES, 15 games for my N64, (including Zelda
64, and Majora's Mask) 16 games for my PSX, 9 games for my PS2, 10 games for my DC, 13 games for my GBC, 10
games for my NES, and am saving up money for the new Gamecube and about 5 games for it. Do you know how
much money all that adds up to????!!!!! About...$3,920 for just the games, and about $1600 for the systems,
and about$1000 for accessories like extra contollers, memory cards, rumble paks, etc. which gives me a grand
total of $7000!!!!(thats including tax) WOOW!!!! That's a l;ot of moola! That is how obsessed I am with
videogames. Also, I wanted Majora's Mask so much, that I put a reservation for it, that when the very day they
shipped it in to the store, I was garaunteed a copy!! See how obsessed I was?! The game is pretty tight too, I
already beat it since I am sooo good at plzying videogames. Anyway, that is why I a will be the world's greatest
vieogamer!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! Thank you VGX, keep finding glitches and weird zelda things, keep up
the good work!!
Violisha SaysDear GammerX, (sorry if the spelling is wrong ^-^) My name is Violisha and im a girl who LOVES to play video games! When my
cousins or friends need a game to be concorded, they all call me! I
especially love *The legend of Zelda* because of Link *he he* and because I love
adventures! Well I just wanted to write and remind thoses boys out there
that GIRLS RULE!!!!!!!!!!
Amanda Rants: My name is Amanda and for my birthday I got a Majora's Mask and my brother wouldn't even let me beat Majora! He is such a dork. Talk about the game god. So I'm trying to beat it by myself. I was better then him on the Ocarina of Time.

JelloFrog158 Wrote: Wuz up. WE all know people....take out people and put in boys who actually
think they r the one and only GOD!! Well I'm just saying this is a new world
and girls can beat the hell out of boys in it. I mean really. Take this as an
example. My so called God Bro challenged me and my little bro to a game of
Mario Kart (Rainbow Road) he was saying he good beat ne day ne time and
stupid crap like that. Well to tell yah I a Girl beat him down sooooo
gooood. And he even took A SHORTCUT!!!! My bro his also always telling me I
can't play his games and stuff. Well I think the real reason is that he
doesn't want a gir to beat them or else to make me look like I'm no good a
video games. Like on Zelda I was at the last boss and my bro the next erases
my file . FOR no reason. Can u believe it. All I want to say is girls can be
better than boys ne day of the week. Bye
BubblyKingdom Explains:Ok, it was very recently. A boy named Mike was talking to me after seeing his Zelda site. He asked my name, I told him, and, he said, "Whatever.... you
cannot like Zelda". I could be him anyday! My friend Ted did the same. I
played against him, compared scores etc. I beat him be at least 200 "points"
as the Zelda peeps at our school said! Everyone at school calls me "Princes
Zelda" now. You dudes better watch out, `cause Zelda can behead Link.
WIE_CROW1Just to tell you your site is great. I have had a lot of fun using glitches i found on your sites, and i thank the people who discoverd
them. Until i found this internet site i was about to sell the ocorina of time. I think that Majoras Mask has a very different story line than the other Zelda games. First, why does the moon have a FACE? I mean it has a mouth a nose and eyes. They have nothing to do whith the game! Well, nothing that i know. The alliens have nothing to do whith th story either. Even if they have to have Alliens in the game THEY COULD
ATLEAST STEEL SOMETHING ELSE THAN COWS! You think nintendo could come
up whith something a little better? Maybe they could go kidnapp humans. That would be a little more believable!
ChibiNep Says: Thank You for putting up Zelda Girl on your awesome site! I know for a fact (even if I'm under 13) that
Girls can kick boys @$$ any day! (No effense VGX) My
older brother is such a wimp that he came begging to
me to show him how to beat a Deku Baba! HA! And I was
reading your wall of shame. I bet those people who
copied your site were all boys and did it because they
were too pothetic to look up how to beat barinade on
the internet. By the way, I think that Miyamoto is
Zeus' brother (I'm talking in human. In my language,
he is Din, Nayru, and Fareore's son) Well, GTG!
Baby Boomer Zelda Girl Reflects: Hello! I will refer to myself as a Baby-Boomer Zelda Girl. I am a proud 49-year-old Zelda Fan. My much younger co-workers are amazed when they see the Oracle of Ages Wallpaper on my desktop at work. I keep a GBC in my desk at all times and carry it with me on business trips. I was hooked on Zelda back in 1987 when I would rent a game deck for my two sons on long winter weekends (in Montana). We couldn't afford to buy both the Nintendo system and the game cartridge then so we rented the deck and played our own cartridge. I still have that cartridge and Link still wears white.
When the boys graduated to SNES, we did buy the system (and, of course, "A Link to the Past") along with "Adventures of Link; Zelda II for the Nintendo system. Both boys have grown and, woe is me, moved on to other games and other systems, but, I remain a steadfast Zelda fan!! I have since purchased the GBC along with Link's Awakening DX, Oracle of Ages, and have Oracle of Seasons on order (seems the local Best Buys cannot keep them in stock so I ordered via internet).
For Christmas, I acquired the N64 system and both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. (I'm currently having problems walking the wall towards the Megaton Hammer, however; and can't seem to win the horse race twice in succession -- but, perseverance will out!!).
I have only recently discovered the Odyssey of Hyrule website but am enjoying it immensely! You are to be commended for your talents and efforts!! I also enjoyed the Zelda Universe website but it seems to be taking forever for them to complete their updates. I look forward to many more visits to both.
I hope this "story" finds its way to your eyes and ears -- I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm curious as to how many other baby-boomer Zelda fans are out there -- come back??
