WHAT HAPPENED ON MARCH 9?

If you came to visit the Odyssey of Hyrule or any Video Gamer X site on March 9th, you would have either encountered a page indicating the site had been Closed Down by a hacker, or an Error 404 File Not Found. It looked like this: Click Here! To put it simply, this was due to a hacker that had accessed the server's UNIX commands and switched my password, thus locking me out of the server and this individual proceeded to delete all my sites. He commondered my email and was sending offensive replies to fans and people who sent me messages saying my site was hacked by him and he had stolen my credit card number. I have since regained control of the situation, restored the missing files, and have spoken with the owners of the server equipment about lax security issues and they will be actively working to improve the situation. Rest assured, the hacker will be investigated with the potenial of the authorities becoming involved.

You've got to wonder, why someone would go through the effort to do this but it would seem that his motivation was money, albeit a very small amount. Apparently the hacker has posted on my message boards claiming it was a $50.00 bet. If this is true or not is anyone's guess. After he had removed my site he posted a message saying that he would get his revenge sooner or later. I found this Interesting, considering I've never gone out of my way to bother anybody let alone anyone called "The Blue Deamon." I've always provided volumes of material on video games, literature, science, philosphy, etc free of cost to my readers. He said, "You're not dead, but I have inconvienienced the hell out of you!" but what he doesn't realize is that, what's it to me to call my ISP, fix the password, and reupload all the information. Does that inconvienience me, no. I don't particularly do anything during the day sometimes, so I just reuploaded the information. I often wonder what type of individuals these are? To be honest, a person that is this self-deficient psychologically can be anyone. It doesn't necessarily have to be the uber-nerd who sits in front of his PC day in and out. These kind of people do what they do because they get gratification in it kind of like rape, serial killers, and drug addicts. I performed research after this incident and found many texts online that could teach me how to do the same thing he did within a day. Would I bother to waste my time doing it? No. Why? Because I have better things to do with my time and it serves no useful purpose to me. Another thing this brings in to question is the logic of it. Why would someone with the capability to cause a denial of service attack or remove material online bother with some obscure webpage like mine or some of the other's that he's hacked. You would think they would hit the vulnerable companies and corporations (the establishment) instead. You want to seek revenge on someone, seek revenge on the people that take away our livlihood and make people suffer with thier financial tyranny. A Robin Hood gets far more respect than a run of the mill street thug.

Now that I have restored the information, I will be proceeding as normal, in fact there are a couple updates in the works. I hope to post something this evening. You may notice holes or dead links on some of the pages. If you encounter one, please report it to me and I will endeavor to restore the information. Furthermore, if you have any knowledge regarding an individual called "The Blue Deamon" or your website being hacked or your internet service not working due to this individual, then please send me information, hence it will be forwarding it to the appropriate authorities (FBI - Computer Crimes Division). If you have received Email from someone going by this name then please forward that to me as well including the original email.

As far as the hacker goes, his days on the internet are numbered. I am disgusted with his juvenile behavior. This dude really sucks and needs to be proven for the psychological misfit that he is. Mine is not the first site he has done this to. This is truly a "Wall of Shamer." Maybe someday he will apologize, but unfortunately I think he will never do this.
