![]() WHAT HAPPENED TO VIDEO GAMER X? Goodness Gracious! It's been almost a month since The Odyssey of Hyrule has been updated! Yikes! Did Video Gamer X die? No. It's all a matter of so many things coming together at once. You see I had some, how shall I put it, "Technical Difficulties" with my computer and needed to replace an inoperable part. That took awhile to fix, and then I had to work excessive hours at my job that preempted my being able to work on the site at all (unless of course I wanted to go with out a couple of days sleep). All in all, one thing had to go, and that unfortunately became my internet time. Bummer, but that's life. Gotta have those greenbacks to pay for internet service, repair to computer and car, and pay bills. Unfortunately, I haven't been blessed with winning the lottery, so I'm just stuck, just like every other working sap, paycheck to paycheck. But now finally I've gotten some things worked out, and I will again be able to resume construction on my websites. For you fans out there, trust me, I'll try to wring another miraculous idea out of the Zelda franchise. I'm starting to think that many Zelda sites, like mine are starting to take a hit from Poke'maniacs who have migrated their favor to Poke'mon over the last few months. All I can really do is scratch my head at why this thing (i.e. Poke'mon) has gotten so big. I mean, it's got it's own cartoon show, gameboy games, N64 games, card game, numerous kinds of merchandise, etc.. I've played the game, and don't feel it deserves the massive hype it has gotten. I'll admit it's kind of cool, but I just see Zelda as being a broader game eclipsing the fad that is Poke'mon. Now, I know that by saying what I just said, there will be Poke'maniacs out there that think I'm a Poke'mon hater, and whine and complain that I'm an idiot, but really I don't hate Poke'mon. I just am an old school guy, that thinks games should have a little more adventure and storyline and reign from a legacy of classic favorites and themes. Breeding and creating Poke'mons and fighting Poke'mons is okay for now, but it will never be the same as a good Zelda experience. I dunno..., times change, people's likes and dislikes change, I just don't see Poke'mon lasting beyond a few years of fame, then fading into "yesterday's newspaper" like M.C. Hammer and whatnot. I will always hold the Zelda flag high and be an advocate for games that express the adventure that exists with any dreamer's imagination. Zelda Fans need not worry because, from what I've found out we will be soon given a chance to continue the adventure in new and exciting forms. From what I hear, there will be a BRAND NEW Zelda game coming to the Gameboy sooner than you think. And Zelda 64: Gaiden, need I say more, will be for sure coming to N64. |
