MORE FOND ZELDA MEMORIES

Zelda has been with us gamers for over decade and with it's legacy has brought many cherished memories of days with the controller in our hand and good times with friends. I, Video Gamer X, can remember the times when me an my best friend used to spend all day long playing Zelda, and trying to beat that difficult dungeon. I can remember the first time I saw Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, and how cool it was. I can remember how anxious I was to see Zelda: A Link to the Past, and how I saved my money for over a month from mowing lawns and doing chores to buy that game. Soon after I almost devoted every thought to that game and how amazing it was when I finally got it and played it. All gamers know that Zelda will go down in history as being one of the best gaming experiences of their lives when they reflect upon their childhood. This page is a continuation of the previous section regarding memories of Zelda and is your shrine to place those cherished moments.

Keri Remembers: My name is Keri and I'm 13. I got the game everyone anticipated to be the best game of all time, Zelda64, for my birthday. Looking back, I recall the other game we have, A Link to the Past. I know that I didn't actually beat it, but it was with my help. My brother worked the controller and I told him my ideas and such. My ideas were usually right, too. We beat A Link to the Past together, and it was one of the only times I recall getting along with my brother, until we got Zelda64. I was better at controlling this version, and my reactions were faster than with the other one. Then my brother got hold of the controller, and even though it was my game, he wouldn't put it down. I didn't mind, I just liked watching him. Then we started teaming up again. If there was a part he couldn't beat, or get to, I'd go online and ask for help. We always beat the level, and I say we because he wouldn't have done it without me. He had the skills and I had the brains. I'll always remember, no matter how much we fight, how we beat the games together.

Krista Remembers: Hi. My name is Krista and I'm 14. I can still remember the first time I saw Zelda. Believe it or not, it was when my parents (yes, my Mom and Dad) used to play vidio games. My favorite part was when they would get to the Ganon, and finally get the triforce. This was in the first Zelda. Later the second Zelda came out, and my parents went estatic about this one too. Within a month, my dad had finally conqured the game. Some time passed, and soon enough, Zelda came out for Super Nintendo. This is when I started to get interested in Zelda. I remeber that my Mom got the game for Mothers Day, so she got to play it first. After she was done with her turn, I took my chance at the game. I absolutly loved it! Just the whole idea of the land of Hyrule coming under the control of Ganon, the a brave warrior known as Link going to save a beautiful Princess named Zelda. I played this game non-stop. Right after school, the first thing I would do was play Zelda. I was finally the first to beat one and couldn't wait for a sequal. After 6 years of long waiting, it finally did. I was walking through the mall one day, and stopped at a computer store who also sold Nintendo. I was watching an advertisement when I saw an ad for Zelda 64. I went estatic right in the store! The first release date was set and I could hardly wait. Soon it was set back and back and back. And I got madder and madder. But after the longest wait of my life, November 23, 1998 came. I didn't get it that day, but went to every rental store and rented it til I got it for Christmas. This game and the rest of the Series of Zelda's are the greatest games I have ever played. I know I will always remember these games and the sequals to come as long as I'll live.

Jared Wrote: My Name Is Jared I am now 18 and yet I remember when I first played the original Zelda on my fiends Nintendo. I was 6 at the time. I didn't even know the true objective of the game yet it instantly had me entranced. I would go over and spend the night and do nothing but play that game from the moment I got there till the moment I left. I would wonder around in Hyrule for house at a time not knowing where I was going or what I was supposed to do next it was just the sheer adventure of it all. It wasn't until 3 months later that I figured out what I was supposed to be doing and that only made the game more fun and challenging. I loved that game it was my life. I was over playing it so much I got banned from their house. It was like dying. I never got to beat the game until 2 years ago when I found a Nintendo classic for sale at a pawn shop with the almost impossible good fortunes of Zelda 1 And 2 with it as well as a few other games. I about died. I bought it right on the spot. I was actually trembling when I was plugging it in. I almost died of a heart attack when I tried to turn it on and found the Nintendo Didn't work. I had to take it apart and spend two days cleaning the parts and tightening the connections to get it to work but it was worth it when I turned it on and heard the Zelda theme song. After ten years of waiting It sounded better than the greatest symphony ever made I was deliriously happy and spent 3 It my sparse free time. I almost wept with joy When I finally Beat It. It was the greatest day in my life up to that moment.

I still have both Zelda's, And later on that year I found Zelda3 A Link to the past for My super Nintendo I was ecstatic I loved that game but by then I had caught Zelda fever. I kept wanting more and more and more. Then I found Zelda Links awakening for Gameboy. I bought it right away even though I didn't have a gameboy yet. When I got my next paycheck I rushed to The nearby Target store and Bought Myself a Gameboy. The game was great fun While It lasted But I still was left wanting more. It was an eternity of death before Zelda 64 came out. I had bought The System in anticipation of the game. When It came out for pre buys I rushed down to reserve my gold edition cartridge. When the games finally came in it was like I was in heaven. I got home and plugged in that game and was totally immersed in a 3d world of action and adventure. I could tell I had finally foun the ultimate expression of Zelda.

I have Beaten Zelda 64 a hundred times over and am eagerly awaiting the next offering for the Zelda Genre. I am sure that there are many others like me as evidenced by your sight The Oddessy of Hyrule. With your guides and helpful tips and tricks you helped me overecome some of the hardest pats of the game. And your stories and art are a constant deight to me. Your Sight Is My NUMBER ONE PICK. I hope you keep it up.

Chris Bowens Remembers: From the moment in fith grade when my friend lent the gameboy game The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening to the time when I dilivered the final blow to GANON in Ocarana of time, I have and still am a true Zelda fan. I remeber when Ganan knocked the sword out my hand the sudden determination to destroy him. I also remember in The first game, when I was stuck on the 6th(or was it seventh?) castle. I just couldn't make past those little wizard guys. Then one day, as I entered one of the rooms in the dungeon, I felt the same determination. Every time I completely beat one of the Zelda games, I usually came close to crying(I'm not embarassed) because I was done. Now I go and wonder, "What next. I've beaten Ocarana of time, there are no more Zelda games left. From your site however, I have learned that there is still hope. Now I can only wait...

RickyP917 Remembers: I REMEMBER A DAY WHEN I WAS BEING FORCED TO STOP PLAYING THE ORIGINAL ZELDA (I WAS ONLY 5-6) AND I FAKED BEING SICK SO I COULD STAY HOME. OF COURSE MY DAD STAYED HOME, AND I'M THINKING "THIS WAS A BRIGHT IDEA, YOU CAN'T PLAY ANYWAY." THEN MY DAD WALKED IN AND SAID "I'LL BE OUT IN THE GARAGE IF YOU NEED ME. WHEN HE WENT OUT, BOOM I WAS ON. I BEAT THE GAME THAT NIGHT AND GOT A LITTLE OVER-EXCITED AND ACCIDENTALLY BLEW MY COVER. SO I WAS GROUNDED FOR A WEEK, IT WAS WORTH IT.

Andrew Remembers: my name is andrew and I am 12.I first heard about zelda in 1989 and we got the 2nd one for nintendo, it was the best game I ever saw,I watched my mom play it most of the time though and she was pretty good at it,and I guess I turned out being a good zelda player too.I got super nintendo in 1995 and the very first game that I wanted to buy was zelda:a link to the past.I then thought that no better game could be made,I didn't have any strategy, and it took me a year or two to beat, and I am still playing zelda today,I really hope they come out with an add-on for the one for 6.

HBaseball8 Remembers: Ever since i knew how to walk, i wanted to play zelda. i was olny 5 when the 1st zelda came out for NES. i loved it so much but because of my young age i never actually beat it. I just poured effort into making it to the final battle and then i would always lose. i remember the time when i found all of the items, such as the red ring, the magical sword, all 20 heart containers, and the silver arrow. i loved the old zelda music and believe that it should be a part of the next zelda game. i love the challenging and sometimes confusing journey of the 1st zelda. i hope that someday i see a version of zelda that the true zelda fan longs for. this would be a take-off of the original.

Kal Remembers: I remember, when I was about five, I went to a day care. The lady that owned the daycare had two boys about three years apart from each other. I remember, they got the first Zelda after Christmas and they just could get past the final dungeon. They never, ever let me play, after all I was five, they were 8 and 11 and I'm a girl. Kindergarten only went on for half the day so one afternoon I decided to try beating the game. When they came home at three, one of the other boys, ran up and told them I was beating Ganon. They watched in horror, a 5-yr.-old beating the game, instead of them. I beat Ganon, won the game, then got chased around by the boys. I was stuck up a tree for an hour, not daring to come down just in case they might of beat me up. My mum came and picked us up later. The next day, they made me beat the game again, taking careful notes as I did so! I did the same for SNES Zelda. I'm now beating N64 games for the kids I babysit!

Dan Remembers: My name is Dan and I am 12 I have every single Zelda that I know of that came out. Me and my sister would sit for hours just playin The legend of Zelda. We have beaten all of the series. After I beat them I would get mad since I spent all that time and now there is no use for it. The Total excitement of the Zelda series was great they have taken a place in my heart that will could never be reached by Street Fighter, Donkey Kong, Castlevania, Mario ect.Zelda will always be number one. Zelda is a irreplaceable masterpiece. Zelda is the best Nintendo has ever achieved not just Zelda 64 but every Zelda that Nintendo published has reached an all time fav for me and my family.

Jessie Remembers: Hi my name is Jesse and i am 19 i have been playing zelda for along time ever since the first one but the most chereshed memorie was when i got Zelda A link to the past! I was only 12 but it was Christmas it was wraped in gold foil paper thats what caught my eye. I had wanted it ever since it came out and finaly i got it December 25 1993!! I will never for get that. When Zelda Ocarina Of Time Came out i went right out and got the Gold Edtion Luckily! I have beat it and got every thing but the Triforce! Thank You for letting me share my Memorie

Ryan Remembers: My name is Ryan. I LOVE video games. I have this big memory of me and my friend playing Zelda. It was the original one. I forget what it was called, since there r so many. I remember those hands coming out of the walls. Whenever i get grabbed by one that comes from the ceiling in Zelda64, it reminds me of the old one. I didn't have the game, but my friend did. He barely played it when I wasn't there, so I could've sorta called it both of ours. Now, those days are over. All I have left is the crapy sidescroll game. When Zelda64 came out, I loved it as much as i loved th old one, but Zelda64 is dying down now, and soon that will only be a memory. NOA better do something quick like release the scoop on the Triforce or make a sequel. I am a looney person now that thre's not much left 2 do in Zelda. I sometimes pick up a fake flute and hum Ocarina tunes, or I might find something long and pretend I'm Z Targeting a person. I do a side jump, fake a backflip, then stab the person.

Lewis Remembers: My name is Lewis and I am 15 years old. Ever since I was 7 years old I have owned a Nintendo. I remebered the first time I played Legend of Zelda that I just loved the game and never got tried of it. I remembered accidently putting in the Zelda code and being in the Second Quest I kept telling my friend the game changed but they didn't believe me. I loved playing Zelda II. I liked have Link jumping around and casting the spells. When I got Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was so excited to play the game. I just couldn't stop playing it. Then when Link's Awakening I remeber getting the game for Christmas I was so filled with joy with. Than I found a new brand version of Legend of Zelda. I bought and me and my friends had a ball playing it. Finally I got Zelda II to complete my Zelda collection since Ocarina of Time has not come by then. Than finally when I heard Ocarina of Time I actually bought the game before I a Nintendo 64 because I knew that the game might sell out before Christmas. It just bought back memories to me. Now I just got a Color Game Boy and Link's Awakening Dx. Now I am reliving Link's Awakening in color.

Jason Brace Remembers: Hello. My name is Jason Brace. I a Zelda Fan. The first Zelda game in NES is start in the year of 1986! That when I am a baby. I am 13 years old now. And, when I am so very little boy, I remember Mario Cartoons with Zelda Cartoons in it. I really remember it. For years and years. When I growing up, I just a little sad that Mario Cartoons is not on T.V anymore. With Zelda Cartoons. When I small, my family should tape and copy Mario Cartoons so I can watch it when I am older! But, it was too late. I growing up and Mario Cartoons, gone. Gone maybe forever. I live in Chance Cove, in Newfoundland. And, I remember the game called "Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past" and knock Ganon bad ball toward him and hurt him. And, when I got "Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time," and when I fight Ganon in the first battle, Ganon throw the fireball just like The Link to the Past! When I hit it, it works! I got almost ALL the Zelda games! But not the first Zelda game. But I got that game on the computer. When I'm 11 or 12 years old or now. And I do not finish the first Zelda game. And I got the second Zelda game, with the Gold Cartridge. I got it, but I not finish it. Sort of. I by the last level. And, I am very good at remember ALL the Zelda Ocarina or the Flute songs that is in the first Zelda game and all the others Zelda games. Is funny that is easy to memory the Ocarina Of Time songs with the C-Buttons. I got a Gameboy zelda game. Link Awaking, whatever. And it was EASY! When I play all the Zelda games, then all Zelda games will be very EASY! I really want to see the Mario Cartoons and Zelda Cartoons again. I only remember it just a little. Just a LITTLE! I remember that the Luigi in the cartoons is trap and laugh because the machine or the magic hands or whatever, tickle the Luigi's toes, Mario and the Luigi is flying with the tail that has a letter P around them, the boat falling from the pipe, Yoshi is pushing something and the pyramid in Mario Cartoons. And in Zelda Cartoons, I remember, the monsters is chasing Link, Ganon is laughing to himself and look like a evil pig I think, and the evil stuff turn Zelda into twins and got mixed-up and Link need to find the right one, Link in the bath and the fairy look at him, AnD, I remember Link hold something on the ceiling, to protect himself. I all I remember I think. Has you ever miss the Mario Cartoons and Zelda Cartoons? I miss them alot. And, I still love Zelda games. I can't wait to see the other new Zelda game in the future!

George Remembers: My name is George and im 14 and I have played every single Zelda game. The first time I played it was at my friends house. When I went to his house and he was playing a link to the past my first thought of Zelda was this sucks. I was unwillingly forced to play it. I remember the first monster that I killed with my sowrd after that I was hooked. After that I looked everywere for the first games and eventaully found them. After I beat both of them Zelda was not part of me for a few years. When I got my N64 one christmas wich happend to be when my friend moved away. He was my only friend that shared my love for video games. A year or so after I had gotten my N64 and gotten bored of Mario I heard there was going to be a Zelda64. I whent to a chat room to find out more about Zelda64 and who should I find but my old friend. We now stay in touch with e-mail and the only reason I can talk to him now is because of Zelda. When I got Zelda I remember bragging about it because my friend had a playstation. I kept my friend up to date on my progress in the game and no soner did I beat the game. My friend is coming to visit so we can play good old Zelda again. I might have never seen him again if it wasnt for zelda. I think it is funny how a video game can do so much for a person.

Dustin Remembers: Hi my name is Dustin. I have every Zelda game except Link's Awakening and Ocarin of Time. The first time I ever played a Zelda game was in 1991 it was Zelda:The Adventures of Link.I had just got my new NES that same day. I opened up a carefully wrapped box (it was my birthday)and there it was the game I was waiting for all the years I was alive. When I shuved it in to my NES I was thinking "after all these years,it's mine." I grabbed the controller and turned on the NES. As I saw what great magnifacance this game had my eyes bulged and my mouth fell open to my knees and the sweat rolled down my head.I did not know that these games were this better then the other ones....until now. I knew I had to get the other Zelda out.So as I fell asleep that night I dreamed that there would be more Zelda games coming but I did not know when. The next morning I ran to Hills. I looked everywhere for the game but they didn't have it. As i walked through the mall,my face facing the floor I heard someone say "Hey look a game store let's check it out" I ran into that store I went and I saw something glorious!! Sitting on a stand all by itself in a glass case, was The Legend of Zelda!!! I asked the cleark "HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT FOR THAT!!" He said "That? Well let's say 3 bucks." I slapped the money in his face, took the game and ran out of there never to go back again.(Was that a steal or what?) I was going to go back to say sorry to the cleark the next day but when I went back the store was out of business and all the games wer gone. I beat both the Zelda games I had and I got bored. Then in 1992 I was walking around in a mall and noticed a magazine. I went up to it and took a peek at it. I turned to page 12 it said "Nintendo is currently working on a new Zelda for SNES!!" I was in shock. I went home making strange sounds and shaking.Everyone was staring at me.The next day I bought a SNES.I waited 2 months,1 week,4 days,8 hours,20 min.,and 54 sec. and I hapened to walk into a game store and I saw it! It was titled Zelda:A Link to the Past. Did I buy it??? YES YOU IDIOTS!!!I beat that in 4 months. Pretty soon the others came out to. Zelda:Link's Awakening and Zelda:Ocarina of Time.I have a Game Boy and I am getting an N64 for my birthday in 6 days. Guess what to games I am getting for my birthday? You guessed them!! BOTH ZELDA GAMES I DON'T HAVE!!!

It comes to tell that Zelda was a major part of my life and it always will be. If Zelda were never invented what would video gaming be like? What would video gamers be like? What would I be like? What would this site be like. So I know that Zelda has a major part in my heart,my soul, and my life. I do know it change this world and everybody elses lives. So all Zelda games will be in my collection forever, pasted down generation to generation. I love Zelda!!! It is said to always come and it has..........G..o..o..d....B..y..e..............................

David Hsu Remembers: Well, the only Zelda games I've played are the original Legend of Zelda and Zelda 64. I played the original when I was about 6. I had no idea I what I was doing. I just knew I had to go into this cave to get this sword from an old man, and I'd be able to shoot stuff from my sword. After a while I'd wonder why I couldn't shoot my sword anymore, but now my brother tells me it's because I got injured. Needless to say, I never got too far and therefore I didn't like Zelda too much. That's why I wasn't too excited when Zelda 64 came out. I thought it would be totally different from anything I'd ever played. But when I first played it at Wal-Mart, I found it easy to learn and play. There were only two things I needed some getting used to: jumping and swimming. You can't jump by pressing a button in Zelda 64! Also, swimming is totally different from Super Mario 64. I also used to watch that stupid Nintendo TV show. I think I liked it, but I don't remember much. I think Link would fly around on his shield. Oh, and that classic "Well, exCUUUUUUSSSE ME!" Now I want to play the original Legend of Zelda again, but I can't get the stinkin' NES to work! Arrggghhh!! I guess I'll just have to skip all the way to a Link to the Past. There's just something about them gold cartridges...

Amy Writes: my name is Amy and I am 13. Long, Long ago, at age six, I was your average Nintendo gamer, I loved simplistic Mario-style adventures. One day I went to ym mother and said, "Mom, I want Zelda." So we went to Wal-Mart that day and bought Link to the Past. I played it over and over again, each time better than the last. Soon after I got Link's Awakening to play with on a road trip, and when I was nine I went out to FuncoLand and bought both The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of LInk. Then, Christmas '98, I sat in class reading for the thirtieth time the review of Zelda:TOoT in some magazine. I don't know why, but this particular time, my RPG sense (When an RPG is good, I can just TELL) acted up. I had no interest whatsoever in buying an N64 before reading the review, but afterwards I was overcome with an overwhelming desire. I made a shrine with all the Zelda screenshots and info I could find, and came Christmas I got it. I still have a reputation for being a complete Zelda fanatic, since I took my players' guide everywhere and talked and drew and thought everything Zelda. I honestly believe that Zelda 64 is the best game currently available to anyone on any system. This summer, we are going to Connecticut for a month, and I can only take one system with me. Not my NES, obviously, which has all my old games, like Mickey Mouse and stuff, and not even my SNES with it's extensive RPG library. Even though the only game I have for my N64 is Zelda, I could play it and only it for a month, easily.

Maria Remembers: Hi, my nick name is Maria. I'm 15. The first time I ever even LOOKED at Zelda was when my parents played it. My dad was a genius at it! I would spend all day watching them play....I wasn't allowed 'cause it wasn't our game and the all slots were used. I never did see them beat it. I was at school when they did. I do remember playing Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, but I was still too young to even know what I was doing. Then 4 years-ago, I went to the store to buy a new gameboy game. The only one within my cost was Link's Awakening. I was DESPERATE!!! When I got home, I was a little hesitant about playing, but boredom and the fact my birthday money went into it, forced me to play. I've always been a lover of medieval. I fell in love with the game. After a month I beat it. After that, all I could do was continue playing it. I got down to completing the game in 3 days, when I once more heard the name of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. After that long time I finally remembered my want to play it. I did nothing but beg. Finally, after my birthday came again, I got it! I was sooooo ecstatic. It took me nearly half a year-plus the time I got so ticked off I left it a couple months. I beat it and once again I played it continuously. I can play that game in one full day. (And I don't use cheat codes! Say what you want. I know it might be hard to believe....SO WHAT...DO I CARE?) I never could get my dad to play it again. Then last year, around January, I heard that a Zelda64 was being created!!! Whenever I tried to learn of when it was due to come out...the date would change and again I would have to clear away rumors and struggle for the truth. Then finally it came out, but....no birthday money left, no way to earn money, no way to rag my parents. I begged to get it for Christmas, but my parents refused 'cause of the cost. :) Once more my birthday comes around. I got the game last May. Today, I have just beaten it!! And this in between a move :). You should have seen the first day I played it. I stayed up 'till 4 in the morning playing, and I got up at 7. :) If I wasn't afraid of getting in trouble I wouldn't have even went to bed that night. Now, let's see how many days can I get down to to beat this one.

Leslie Remembers: I have always loved Zelda and all the adventers all the way back to the very begining. I can remeber watching my cousins play the first Zelda on those really old Nintendo Systems! I have been fasinated with the games from then on. I also remember begging my parents to buy the Super Nintendo and finding it on the T.V. a couple weeks later with the 2nd Zelda laying beside it. I cant say why or how Zelda can be so powerful to someones life but I can deffinatly say it has made an impression on mine. I used to wonder why I was so facinated by Zelda! I knew others who liked it but none were as obsessed as me! Then one day while surfing the web for the ultimate Zelda page I found yours. I knew right away that there were others who felt the same way as me about the game. I also have an idea why. To me Zelda is like a dream come true! If I had one wish it would be to be Link and have the incredible adventres that he has. To risk it all! I find your page a haven for Zelda fans! It is the most thourough page I have ever seen. It connects users with each other and lets us share our oppinions on it. I want to thank you for making such a wonderful and powerful page!

George Remembers: I'm George, and I'm 16 years old, and I have beaten every single Zelda game in existence. I remember the time when my mother got me The Legend of Zelda for my birthday. I took it and dashed to my room and plugged my 8-bit video gaming machine, the good ol' NES, and when I saw the logo "The Legend of Zelda," my life changed dramatically. From playing the Zelda games, I learned how to be more determined, more wise, more strategic, and I felt better about myself everytime I defeated a boss or found a weapon that would help my in my adventures. Seriously, the Zelda games have had a huge impact on my life. They showed me that even the most unlikely person can become a hero. In Ocarina of Time, Link was a little boy, alone, without a fairy, with no friends except for Saria. Then, a summoning of the great Deku Tree changed Link's life. He was chosen as the Legendary Hero of Time and he restored peace to Hyrule. This is indeed a very inspirational story. I mean, not just this one had a huge theme; all the Zelda games had this same theme. A Link to the Past is my favorite SNES game and I could remember staying up til the wee hours of the morning trying to beat it without saving too many times. The fun conversations I had with my friends about Zelda were very memorable. My brother and I played together trying to defeat the evil Ganondorf Dragmire. Him and I played together for all the Zelda games, except for Ocarina of Time. I felt that the time has come for me to face evil alone. I am proud to say that I've beaten Ocarina of Time without dying, with all the items, skulltulas, and heart pieces. After I beat it, I went from the powerhouse N64 to the classic 8-bit NES and I played thru The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the best Gameboy game Link's Awakening, and then to the semi-powerful 16-bit SNES and I beat every single Zelda game over again...I relived the moments of my childhood, but this time, I completed the adventures alone. I faced evil one-on-one and emerged victorious, and I feel like I'm on top of the world!! This is how I remember Zelda and I wont forget it as long as I live. One more thing...Video Gamer X, your site definitely kicks @$$. It's the best Zelda site ever, and I send it to all my friends. Keep it up.

Graham D. Remembers: I am only 13 but i still remember when the first zelda game came out my good friend's uncle worked for nintendo and my friend got it the day it came out. It was the greatest experience It was the summer and I spent a full two weeks sleeping over at his house. We played zelda every day. It was the best time of my life. i completely forgot about the rest of the world and became link. There were no distraction with me being so young and all I didn't have to worry about the opposite sex or bullies or tons of money. I would get my $2 of allowance on saturday go to the corner store get some candy then go to my friend's house to play zelda. But now when I go back to my old neighborhood It's all changed I've seen and heard about 6 and 7 year olds getting held up on the way home from school. The little corner store where I'd so happily skip to to spend my allowance on candy has been robbed at gunpoint five times. I personally have been jacked 3 times visiting over there. I mean what Happened? The world is being ripped apart at the seams. Little kids being jacked What is the world coming to I still remember those carefree days of my childhood. Now I see the neighborhood where I lived in till I was 10 as a war zone I hate to see it. I long for a better place and time where it can be like it used to be.

Cameron Remembers: Hey dude. I have been a game player since I was five years old, I am fifteen now. I can remember that Christmas morning when I got my first Nintendo. I opened this present from Santa with my older brother. I can remember the anxious " whats inside" feeling I had. My father had forced us to open it last. When we hurridly tore the last strip of paper off we found a Nintendo along with five or six games inlcuding Mario, Jaws, Zelda, and some others. I sat there in front of the TV with my brother for something like 6 hours with out moving. We had played all our games but they all seemed to get backseated to Zelda. We didn't make it very far because we were new to the expirience. We made it to maybe level four. We were just over whelmed with the joy of playing the game. Through out these 10 years I must have beaten that game twenty times and am still a dedicated player. I have glued myself to the tv for probably something like 150 hours playing each of the Zelda games. I must say that I never have nor will I ever have as much fun tearing my hair out over a video game in my life. Long live "The Legend of Zelda."

Zfreak Remembers: I have a fond memory of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. I got it for Christmas and I had just moved in to a neighborhood I lived in many years before that. My friends claimed not to know me. I spent 99.9% of all my time playing Zelda. Until one day my friend started helping me. We would spend hours playing. I loved watching him play the parts I could not beat. It took me one month (BOY AM I SLOW) to beat the game, but I was proud. I think Zelda brought me close to my friend. Now I we practically live together. He is always at my house, or I am at his. I can still remember all of the sad moments in Zelda. I remember when I left the forest for the first time, when the Deku Tree died (okay, I'll admit it I cared for it) then when Mido first met me as an adult. It was so sad. I remember Sheik teaching me all of the Warp songs. They almost always brought a tear to my eye. Then the ending came. I was so over whelmed I could not speak for days. But there were always memories. And the one I remember the best is when my friend and I beat Ganondorf's first form and started fighting the "piggy" form. Zelda said "SIX SAGES, NOW!" that made it all worth while. To know that the sages were worth rescuing. Thankyou creators of Zelda for giving me a memory to last a life time, and thankyou VGX for your time.

Sandslash100 Remembers: Ah, yes. I remember it well... The date was December 30th, 1988. My dad, my sister, her friend and I went to Toys 'R' Us to pick up my sisters birthday present. After waiting at some pick up window, I just saw a biiiig box, and had no idea what it was. We picked up this large box and drove it back to where my mom and dad work. (Can't wait to get home can we.) After my dad fiddling with some wires, we finally got this thing working on a big TV. I was shocked at Super Mario Bros. I noticed whenever my sister pressed one of those red buttons, Mario would jump, etc. Ever since then, I must say I have been gifted in the Video Game Department. When my sister went to the bathroom, I picked up the controler, and in about a nanosecond, I figured it out. My sister was pissed but not when she found out I beat three levels in a record time. I sat there, and beat the game, at 4 years old, without using any warps at all, and dying only twice.

Now, to Zelda. Doing what research I could, I found the next big game was The Legend of Zelda. I had a bit of money from Christmas, and I bought the thing. Ever since then, I was a obsessed, and so was my sister after I let her play it after I beat it. I made extremely good time on this too, beating it in about three days with no outside help. A few years later, I heard about Zelda II, but rented it first. I'm glad I did. This game was horrible! That memory gone...

Quite a few years later, I got a Super Nintendo for Christmas, with the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This was the best game, period. My sister's friend, her, and myself tripled up to beat this game. I did the fighting, she told me where I think I should go, and he (my sister's friend) told me what I should do there.

So, in between that, I got Link's Awakening, but wasn't quite as pleased as I was with the others. It was fun though.

Now, after I beat Zelda64 20000000 times, I'm searching out all kinds of rumors, cause heck, I could care less if it erased a file. I can always beat it again. I also must say, Video Gamer X, I am one of your biggest rumor searchers, and continue to do so until I absolutely clarify if it's real or not.

Neil Remembers: I am Neal, and I am 14 years old. The first time I heard about Zelda and saw the way it was played, I was around 5 years old. To be quite honest, it scared me. It was Zelda 1, I believe it was the 5th palace, and boy did it creep me out. That was my first experience with any Zelda game. The next time I played a Zelda game, it was Zelda 2, and I thought it was horrible. I did not like the way they tried to turn it into an RPG, and I believed the play control to be terrible. If you can't tell from here, I expected A link to the Past to be a horrible game from its predecessors...but I played it and loved it! It was much better than the original 2. I then played Zelda: Link's Awakening and loved it too! It added a lot of cool stuff than the ones before it. And now, finally, after waiting a very long and anxious time (And playing Zelda 1 & 2 again, finding out that they are actually very cool.) Ocarina of Time finally hit the stores. I got it for Christmas from my Grandma, and it was the Gold Cartridge! I nearly fainted. And now, I've beaten almost every Zelda Game invented thus far...and I can't wait for another.
