The Great Fairies add helpful items and new abilities to Link's quest. The skull kid has broken apart the great fairies and when link unites all of the stray faries with the corresponding color fairy (usually close to the area he finds the stray fairies) she will be reformed.

WOODFALL TEMPLE

2. You will find another fairy inside a chest near one of the Deku Flowers in the first room.
3. In the first room with the poisonous flower you will find a stray fairy in a pot. Use Deku Link to skip over the water to there.
4. There is a Deku Baba near the locked door when you first enter. Kill it for another fairy.
5. In the room where you find the first Small Key, you will see a hive on the wall in the northwestern corner. Shoot it down with the bow or spit bubble and you can attract another fairy.
6. In the room with the "Boardwalk" with the block in the middle there is a fairy under the block. When the water isn't poisonous anymore go approach it.
7. In the same room there is another beehive, pop it for another fairy.
8. There is a Big Skulltula in the room, if you kill it, it turns into another stray fairy.
9. Right after you leave the room with the Boardwalk and the big block you will be in a dark room. If you kill all the creatures here and light all the torches a treasure chest will appear containing another Great Fairy.
10. Once you find yourself back in that room with that big flower with the torch in it surrounded by 4 smaller flowers, you'll encounter a switch on a ledge push it down to reveal a chest on the other side of the room. Float over or climb the ladder and open it for another Stray Fairy.
11. There is another Stray in a bubble in this room that you can now reach.

15. You will see another fairy inside a bubble inside the flames. Shoot it with the bow, and lure it with the Mask.

SNOWHEAD

1. In the room where there are first place you must do the Goron Roll to cross the broken bridge over the lava there are 2 fairies. One is just beneath the landing by the crate at the far end.
2. In this same room there is another fairy that seems obvious to get with the bow, but if you use the Lens of Truth you will see that what seems to be air is actually rock. You'll have to swing all the way around the other side, and get at it from the north side of the room.
3. In the room at the back of here, you will find another fairy just sitting there in the corner on the opposite site from the chest with the Map in it.
4. Just below the room with the big pillar in the center, there is an area of Lava. Find the switch down there, and as a Goron push it down. A chest will appear with a fairy inside.
5. You will soon encounter a room with ice chunks on pedistals with red rupees inside of them. You get a small key here. Use the bow to shoot the stalactites from the ceiling onto the blocks to break them. Using the lens of truth you will find a chest in the wall that can be reached by jumping from one of the pedistals.
6. Right after the room with the pillars and the ice blocks, you will discover a room with switches you have to Goron Pound down. If you stand in the center of the room, and look straight up with the Lens of Truth you will find another fairy. Pop it, and use the Fairy Mask to assimilate it into your collective.
7. You will again encounter that room with the frozen eye switch where you got the map. This time you will be on the walkway above. If you use the Lens of Truth you should see steps that lead to another chest in the wall with a fairy in it.
8. In the room just to the left from the entrance to Snowhead you can obtain 3 stray fairies. First melt the ice blocks to reveal a switch that you can hit to create a sliding block. Push this block near the ledge wit hte chest to get one fairy then to the northwest corner of the room.
