VIDEO GAMER X'S FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH MAJORA'S MASK!

Well the day has finally arrived. I just got my copy of Majora's Mask today 10/24/2000. It's the Collectors Edition with the gold cartridge and the prismatic label. It would seem that the game is being released today, October 24th, because I got it and many other gamers will be getting it today. I assumed that since the Playstation 2 insanity starts on October 26th it was prudent to release the game early. Good Move, Nintendo! Ahh, yes, finally I get my game, and now I can start doing the things I do best and prying this one apart, starting with strategy guides and delving deeper into the mechanics of the. Expect a full walkthrough of this game appearing on the Oddity of Hyrule soon.

When I got the game I opened it and a good feeling came over me as I held another Zelda game in my hands. I dusted off the old N64. Although somewhat left behind for Dreamcast and recent Playstation games, it was not forgotten. I placed Majora's Mask into the slot and pressed Power. The intro immediately started playing after the Nintendo logo, there's Majora's Mask with a cool blurr effect, just like on the cover page of my site, and then that Happy Mask Man. The game then progressed into various pans, and flybys of ClockTown. The first thing I noticed as how much the graphics had improved! There was a lot more detail in things, and it seem that there were more polygons being used. And then we see Majora gazing up at that evil looking moon ominously looming up in the sky.

I press start, and I name my file/character Link of course. (It would be sacriligious to do otherwise on the first game played on a new Zelda title) IThe game then goes into a description that sets the plot in motion of this game, and talks of how this all fits into the Legend of Zelda. Link then encounters two fairies that spook epona and knock off link. Then Majora Appears, congradulates them and then proceeds to steal the Ocarina of Time from Link! The fairies fight over who gets to play the ocarina while Majora plays with it. Link gets up and then jumps after Majora and then Majora hops on Epona and Link is dragged on the ground holding onto Epona's Leg. Link is tossed aside as Majora goes running into a cave and music remeniscent of Zelda a Link to the Past battle theme plays hightening the suspense of the situation. It's time to Run after that thief and go get that mask! Wow, that was pretty exciting!

I must comment here that so far this game has started off on a good foot with me. I like the way the intro narration worded the connection Link has to the Legend, tying the last game, with this game, and possibly a future Zelda, and the fact that he must save his friend (most likely Epona). This should be a whole lot of fun and fans of the Odyssey of Hyrule and Oddity of Hyrule with have much to look forward to in the coming months regarding this game. Well, it's time for me to start playing!

And here is where the walkthrough takes over...
