HAUNTED WASTELAND PYRAMID DISCOVERY?

Since I first played Zelda and discovered it (I'm pretty sure I was the first to mention it back in November) The Polygonal Mystery in the Haunted Wasteland has really bugged me. It looks like a pyramid of some kind, but then again it just seems to change shape so easily so it just seems more or less like a glitch. To see it simply follow the signs to the area where the Invisible Poe guides you to the Haunted Wasteland and face east. Now move slowly past the circle of red-flagged poles and play the Song of Storms to really make it show up. The closer you are, the bigger it seems but if you get too close you will be sent back to the beginning of the Haunted Wasteland. Now I know this could just be an intentional mirage designed to lead you astray, but it's just plain odd that it is there and there seems to be an indentation or valley in the sand leading to it. According to this gamer there are steps going up the outside, but I don't remember seeing any even when I got as close as possible.

Justin Reilly Writes -

Hello. I have some news for you. Now, before I say this, I will tell you now: I AM NOT LYING!!! All those idiots who make up stupid false fairy tales and wild goose chases to get things like the Triforce( I don't think it exists in Z64) should be shot. What I am saying is the truth, and if you can prove me wrong, then please put me on the wall of shame!

I spent at least 12 hours trying to get to the Pyrimid-like thing in the distance. Nintendo said it is a glitch, but Nintendo lied on one thing, they could be lying on more! Anyway, after trying MILLIONS of ways to get to it, I decided to follow the spirit guide to close to the spirit temple. Right before the two flags that lead to the temple, I turned right and looked at the polylines to see where the desert ends( this is very hard to do since you have Leevers trying to kill you constantly). I saw no polylines so I went right further until I noticed the polylines became narrow and made sort of a path. Then, after very slow and very careful traveling down the "path", I came to the mysterious pyrimid thing. This is CERTAINLY not a glitch. If I could have taken pictures of this thing I would. In the distance, the pyrimid looks lopsided, but I believe that is only pop-up, because it is a perfect pyrimid. It had stairs going all the way to the top of it, and was clearly made of textured polygons. I sent a bombchu at it and: IT WENT UP THE SIDE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!! However, (this is odd), when I sent an arrow at it, it appeared to go right through it. I don't know what is up with that. Maybe I was not in arrow range but in bombchu range? I am not sure. There was no vivible entrance on the pyrimid though, but those stairs were not glitches! They were detailed and could be easily seen! I took a couple steps to get to it, without even looking at the ground for polylines, and it warped me out. I am writing this letter literally right after I did it, so as no one could say I made this up. The time is 11:56 AM, Wednsday April 14, and I am home from school because I broke my toe (badly). I just found this out, and now I am going to do it again! Please post this!!! We have caught you now, Nintendo, in the act of lying!!

This gamer may be on to something here, there seems to be this point at the threshold of the Desert Colossus and The Haunted Wasteland where I can walk all the way to the very edge of the wall to the left, but if I continue further I get sent back (in this case to the Desert Colosus entrance spot) This whole thing almost seems like a fools errand because it is virtually impossible to determine where the game borders the areas where link is allowed and not allowed to walk into. The only thing I can say is a MAP would be helpful Justin, as well as a screenshot (if possible). I tried this for a couple of hours with no luck. Gamers out there can take this one the way you want, I personally haven't verified his claim so your guess is as good as mine on this discovery. I can neither prove nor disprove this gamer. (So far...)

HAUNTED WASTELAND PYRAMID PROVEN HOAX

Just like I expected on this one, it was proven false by the very person who submitted the discovery. Here's what Jusin said about the issue.

A while back my friend Jamie Sprott asked me to send information of the pyrimid to this site. At the time, he did not have access to the internet, so I agreed. It said that the pyrimid was accessable through an arching and meandering pathway that started near the gateway to the dessert collosses. He then asked me to send more information as to how to get to it, and I did. However, today on April 24th, 1999, it has been discovered by myself, Justin Reilly, that my friend Jamie was lying. Another rumour spreader. Using Gameshark with the Moon Jump code in conjunction with the lasting hover boots code, I reached the supposed pyrimid. It is nothing. Do you remember the mountains on the left when you first enter the Haunted Wasteland from the Guerudo Gate? Those are the supposed pyrimid. It is just polygon pop-up of the mountains from the distance. If you want to confirm this, use the gameshark codes above, then leap in the air and continously tap L + R at the same time and go toward the direction of the pyrimid. As long as you are doing this, the game will not warp you out. The pyrimid is not real, folks. It is exactly what Nintendo said it was : A GLITCH! Once again, I am sorry for my friend Jamie Sprott sending in this information, and I am glad I could reconcile for his actions before anyone went on a wild goose chase.

PS: I already BLASTED Jamie for this one!

Thanks Justin for revealing the truth about the Pyramid in the Haunted Wasteland. It truly prooves how much the Gameshark has become a useful tool to debunk all these false and irrelevant claims. Now hopefully this mystery can be laid to rest as we persue other avenues of thought and discussion.
