MODERN GAMESHARK ODDITIES IN ZELDA 64
Well it seems like old times for Zelda 64, and the Gameshark Hacking. I'm getting more mail on this subject than I got in all of 2004 and 05. I'm just going to post all these into a single page, that way Gameshark hackers can indulge in each other's exploits.
Hey videogamerx. First off, I love your Zelda site. I've always been a huge Zelda fan and it seems a great Zelda site is getting tougher and tougher to come by. Great job.
Obviously, you can get some pretty strange things to happen using the Beta Quest code (which had not been discovered last time I attempted to use my gameshark with Zelda, so I'm quite excited). Anyway, I thought I might clue you in on an area I have dubbed the Green Area of Doom for the simple reason that there is no possible way to leave this area. You mentioned an area that sounded similar to this one, but just in case...
I had the Beta Quest, Moon Jump, Appear in Strange Places, Beta Quest Name Fix, and the Exit Modifier (on the "Enter the Chamber of Sages" page) codes on my v1.1 cart. I went into the Chamber of Sages using the Kokariko Village entrance trick, then played the Minute of Forest song holding R. I reappeared with my Hud. Then I went to the Forest Temple using the Minute of Forest (without holding R). I went into the Temple after the cutscene that played (the one where you get the Minute of Forest) and went to the room with the twisted hallway. I held R and let the wall master grab me. I appeared in the Hyrule Market Alley. I went around the long way and went through the market to Hyrule Field out the main gate. I floated over Lon Lon Ranch (there's an invisible platform up there) before heading to Gerudo valley. Holding R as I entered, I appeared between two ledges way up in a canyon. I landed and floated up to the ground then headed over by the Carpenter. This is the final step. I headed down toward the Gerudo Fortress, holding R on my way.
Now I am trapped here. I am on a green block that stretches outside the screen on both sides and goes about halfway up the screen. The Gerudo Music is playing while two dogs (1 white and 1 brown) wander around. Here's the trick. Floating over the invisible walls and falling makes you respawn on the green block. Doing the same while holding R results in the same effect. And the real kicker... the C buttons are disabled. If nothing else the place is kinda cool even if it's not possible to leave.
I wanted to say great job on the site and figured I might let you know how to get to the really cool place while I was at it.
Have a good one,
~ Drakmyth
