MisEpa1 Adds: hey this is the first time i've ever been to this site and saying you did a very good job is an understatement. anyway i've been a zelda nut since the
first one came out. the graphics were crude but it was the biggest kick ass
game ever. i was one of the many people to be put down by the photo's at the
previous spaceworld. it's terrifying to even see link looking like a
powerpuff girl. not to put down chibi or whatever it's called animation but
it downright sucks. pokemon, dragonball z, i'm sorry i just can't grow to
like japanese animation.
asside from how much i hate what nintendo did to it's upcomming zelda, i
wanted everyone to know that there is a petition which last time i checked
had about 7000 signatures on it. and it only has been around for 3 days. i
erge everyone to voice their oppinion. if you don't like the game, don't sit
back and let them walk over you. we live in a society were your allowed to
voice your complaint. remember, without the fans, zelda dies.
Heeg8000 Wrote to Nintendo: Hey videogamerx, this was the letter i sent them....
___________________________________________________
After images seen from spaceworld 2001, firstly, before I can get into it, I
would like to say I have been a supporter of Nintendo since the NES ages,
what you have done to the new Zelda game is a pure atrocity. That is not a
Zelda game. That is a pokemon crazed fantasy game that your company has made
to pull in some cash. There is no way that I will ever buy such software if
that game is released. I have been playing Zelda games before any of those
pokemon brainwashed generation brats have. Zelda was never meant for kids,
it was for TEENS!!!!!!!!. Let's think, someone with a sword and a shield
meant for kid's? Come on! We mite as well take away links sword and shield
and give him the power to blow kisses to freeze the fluffy pokemon like
creatures that princess ganon lost due to her overbreeding of her pokemon
farm (Sarcasm applied greatly). If this game is released many fans and
potental buyers will easily overlook this game and may buy something a little
more mature like Playstation 2 or Xbox. Zelda was the reason why I bought
N64. If you don't change it, I will never buy or support Nintendo again.
This is not just my thoughts, but many of my peers feel the same way but are
too lazy to write to you. Lastly, let's the cartoonish games to Mario
Party/Mario Paper/Super Smash Brothers. Let's not bring another game to tat
fatal conclusion. Zelda is an action game.... Let's keep it that way.
Sincerely From a distressed Zelda fan.
Leah Comments:Ohhhhh......myyyyyy.....godddd. I am, like, seriously gonna shoot someone right now. Dude, I think I want
to cry or something. I am soooo pissed at what they
did to Zelda. You don't even know. Or maybe you do.
But those screenshots from before
were...beautiful...TELL ME WHY THEY HAD TO FUCKEN RUIN
IT!!!!!! I swear, Link looks like my little 5 year
old cousin Olivia that's been smacked in the face by a
fucken frying pan. FUcken doesn't even look like a
guy anymore!!! SHITTT!!!! You know, I had two games
to look forward to: FFX and Zelda. But I am not even
going to bother buying that bullshit now.. Fucken
hell, I'm not even going to get a Gamecube. I'd
rather spend my money on a fucken log of
shit!!!!!THOSE RAT BASTARDS!!!!!!! Well if you do
read this don't think I'm a crazy bitch or
anything....I'm just rather pissed. Well thanks for
letting me vent my anger hehehe. I thought about
emailing Nintendo but you know what, I'm glad I didn't
because I probably would have gotten arrested for what
I want to say to them.
The Rose of Oblivian: WHY????????????? What the devil is Miyamoto smoking?!?!?!?! I have been contemplating since PS2 came out wheteher or not to get this or a Cube just for Zelda. Well screw you Nintendo. You have most definitely lost more than 50% of you Zelda gamers. As for me, I'm on my way to get a PS2. By the way, excellent site. Don't stop because of some stupid gay company.
The Man of Swords Remarks: hey i have no idea what is up with the new zelda that is being previewed at
ign.com if you havent seen it i suggest you do. it is a shameful piece of crap. i
love zelda and all its games.there all the best games in the world. but the
new zelda looks like the playstation game pappa rapper the rapper(whatever
you know what im talkin about)
it makes me wanna puke, the new zelda game.take a look at it and post
something on your website....oh yeah your websites ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robert Martin Writes: Well im first off gonna say im a big fan of the Zelda
series. But when i read your article on the main
page, I thought to myself, "Gee, it cant be that bad".
My God was I ever wrong....i read all that your wrote
and I have to agree with everything you said. It's
just extremly horible what they did to one of the most
greatest adventure games ever! I propose you start a
partition for the Nintendo company saying "were not
all 7 year olds out there playing your games". When i
first saw those screen shots i was speechless.
Anyways im angry and I hope you consider my idea!
Mr. Santa Puts In: I would like to comment on the new Legend of Zelda movie that
was shown on Space World.
It think everyone needs to calm down, step back and take a deep
breath. Everybody is getting a bit too excited on the new Zelda
here...
I admit, it was a shock for me too. And I admit I don't like the new
cartoonish-style either. Heck, I even signed the petition right after I
saw that movie. But please, people, calm down! The game isn't
going to be released for a year! A lot could happen with the game
in that time and I think you can only judge a game when you can
see it in it's complete playable form.
I read a post on one of IGN bulletin boards of a guy that came up with a theory. He quoted several things of
interviews taken with Miyamoto in wich he says:
"At the beginning of the game, Link shall be more of a child rather
than an adult, that's my image, and after that we were trying to
make Link with somewhat better computer graphics and
sophistication".
They poster's theory is that maybe the further you come in the
game, the better the graphics become, finishing with the battle
against Ganondorf in realistic quality. Wouldn't this be cool and
really innovative? Talk about revolutionary
This could prove by this fellow why at Space World 2000 they had
the amazing images of Link at the end of the game, and cartoonish
pictures in the beginning of the game...
Now of course this is huuuge speculation and I'm certainly not
telling you to get all your hopes up, but I'm also telling you not to
lose all faith immediatly. I'm not talking about the changing
graphics, but you never know what Miyamoto does with the game
in 12 months time...
Just give them time and judge the game when it's complete, that's
all I'm saying....
Raziel Comments: Its me..I read your story about the new Zelda for game cube and i dont see how any hardcore nintendo gamer could flame you man i am big on nintendo and i truely belive they made a huge legacy into a big peice of shit..I mean like Zelda was never supposed to appeal to the childish type at least it didnt look that way to me so why start now its never been that bad....I dont know about Zelda anymore if that shit stays the same Zelda will rot in hell for there will be no coming back after something so..so....idiotic.Thats just my 2 cents on the matter.Great work keep it up.
Tayoni Rants: I've been really excited about the next Zelda game for the cube. Now,
I've been a very devoted fan of the Zelda games since the original game came
out on the NES. I've always had this thing with...imagining a great and
wonderfull story behind the video game. The way the games are made, with
little dialogue and Link never speaking makes it possible for us all to
imagine the story line of 'legend of zelda' going the way we want it to go.
There is something about the way this new Zelda looks that makes it seem
impossible to imagine it all the way I want to, like the characters are real
people in this world that seems like the setting of a really good novel.
I just really wished that the makers of Zelda would make the game
specifically geared to those of us who are die hard fans of one of the
greatest stories told through a video game. The problem with the makers of
this game is that they've lost the dream of having a grand adventure which
lies within all of us who love the game so much.
Jeff Complains: When I first laid eyes on Zelda GC pics, it felt like a kick in the chest,
a rush of raw emotion fled through my body. An emotion not of anger or
disappointment, it was an emotion I can't even explain. I wasn't pleased, to
say the least. I just can't believe what has happened to Link. I not only
can't believe it, but I refuse to believe it. I am positive that Nintendo
will tell us that was a joke and bring out the real Zelda pictures, or am I
just in denial. I can't even tell. Just look at the pic I included. Not only
has Nintendo let gamers across the world down, but in my eyes the have lied.
If I am correct Miyamoto said this at Spaceworld 2000, ".. the screens you
see hear are exactly how it will look in the real game...", well it looks
nothing like that and I even gave up my summer for this, really. I got a job
at Mcdonalds to get money for a Gamecube and look what you have done. I had
to miss my bands first show because of work, to get money for Gamecube. I
feel betrayed by sell out game designers and I will be buying an X-Box
instead of a Gamecube. Thanks Nintendo for the great years of gameing you've
given me, but no thanks for ruining the future of the best game franchise
ever.
J C Says: I've been a Zelda fan since I first heard of the game. I bought N64 because
I wanted to be able to play the Zelda games. All the other Nintendo games
suck, but I was going to get a Gamecube because I knew there was going to be
Zelda games. Then I saw the screen shots and well, screw you. I'm switching
to Playstation because they have better graphics, better plots, and lets
face it, better games. I would have switched a long time ago if not for the
Zelda games. You kept me going for a few years on Zelda games alone but now
I'm pissed off. Why did you have to make Link such a wimp? What happened to
the action and graphics we all loved so much? How are you going to top this
next system? Will Link be in diapers, fighting things that go bump in the
night with his teddy bear? Thanks for royally screwing all your
once-devoted fans.
Eric Knudson Comments: Video Gamer X, I am contacting you first of all zelda webmasters because as an involved and loyal gamer, your site has really been my main source of encouragement. Anyway, I have recently visited your section about Zelda GameCube and I, along with many other gamers are despised, disgusted, and utterly disappointed in Nintendo and would be very willing to stand and rebel against nintendo with you as our leader in the revolt. I intend on raising a petition including many Zelda sites and their members so if you and your loyal affiliates and members shall be gallant enough to face nintendo and their pathetic excuse for a Zelda game, then please, I beg of you to start the petition. P.S. my site, ZIQ, thezeldamaster.homestead.com/home.html, is happy to fight in the revolt using any tactics required. My sincerest prayers are asking you to post this on your site so as to alert your angry visitors that they are not alone and are being encouraged to fight nintendo. We must all band together before it is too late, we must bring this foolishness to a waning end before it gets out of hand. Video Gamers, dont give up and feel free to contact my site or email me to inform me of progress, etc!
Chris Worries: Hey VGX, I'm a big fan of your site, however I'll get right into the point. My opinion on the cell-shading is this- it's the same thing as going back to old-school 2-D Zelda games. Zelda deserves more. When I first saw these screenshots, I thought "What the hell is this?!", its garbage. You couldn't have put it any better on your site. Nintendo are sell-outs. To hell w/ them, they just turned their most popuar series into a lil kiddie game for kids who are 5 -10 yrs old! The least I can say is that its a bad buissiness move by Nintendo. However, you can see a difference in the whole Zelda series as the series got promoted onto better systems. For example LTTP was my personal fav. You get the triforce, most bosses are difficult, the plot was great, & even after you beat the game, you can still have some fun with it. When OoT first came out, it was also a great game, however the bosses didn't take a lot out of you to beat 'em. The story was pretty decent, & even after the game was beaten, it was still fun. So, in my opinion it was a great game, but didn't stick to the roots of the original series. Majora's Mask came after that. I didn't care for it either, the bosses were a bit harder than OoT, however the plot pretty much sucked. It focused to much on time than on storyline. Another factor was that Princess Zelda had no play in it. Come on, her name's in the title. Finally on MM, the final boss: Majora. *Usually* the last boss in ANY Zelda game, up to this point was hard, the most difficult in the game. In MM, the final boss will last around 5 min. before he's completly destroyed. And, if you get the Fierce Deity's Mask before you fight him? --Forget About It. It's more like a contest on how fast you can press the B Button. And now?
Game Cube Zelda? The most anicipated of them all? I don't even need to explain myself there. At Space World 2000, the movie between Link & Gannon was classic. Even if it wasn't going to be in the game. - Space World 2001 - well......to hell with Nintendo. They focus on little kids who can't even save up their hard earned money, like us, to buy games like Zelda.
Finally, I just want to say I also liked the conversation you put up from AIM. Your friend needs to learn three important letters: DTA - Don't Trust Anyone. Miyamoto has made exellent game in the past - Fact, however this will be the downfall of Zelda, if this cell-shading will acually "make" Zelda GCN. Do with this e-mail as you like, i'm also a part of your Odyssey Allience. You can check out my week-long "petition" on this link: http://angelfire.com/games2/thezfiles/gcnzsux.html
Thanx for your time, Yours truly,
Richard Leach Explains: I recently discovered that Miyamoto completly re-did the whole Gamecube Zelda. I felt like I was going to throw up. I am disgusted with your work. Usually you guys produce really high quality games, but changing the whole game and making it a pussy-cheese cartoon game with graphics the SNES could achieve is as low as you can go. I feel like I should dump a huge pile of human feces down your throat I will buy a gamecube if you don't go bankrupt, but I will not buy a Zelda game. And you can tell Miyamoto to go rape himself because he has just caused the end of Nintendo. I can almost guaruntee you guys will go bankrupt and never produce another game again because of what he did. I hope he gets fired.
Mariogary Writes: Hello ladies and gentlemen. I would like to express my opinion on what
has happened to Zelda Gamecube. One day, on IGN.com, I decided to download a
10 second clip of Z:GCN. What I saw had amazed me in wonders I cannot
compare. Link and Gannondorf were fighting with real-time lighting and
special effects and the sort. I could not wait.
I then accessed VGX's site some time after. Then I see it, "cel
shaded" Link. Cel shaded Link, the most weirdest thing that has ever happened
to Link yet. Would this help or hurt Zelda? I agree, the changes are kind of
weak, but it could help get younger players addicted. Nintendo makes changes,
and we just complain. I, like most people, thought it was a bit ridiculous at
first. But if you don't see a positive thing in this, you should.
Zelda, the most legendary series of it's kind, always attracted older,
clever audiences who could think uniquely and solve puzzles, use items, and
battle bosses. But, Nintendo may need more money to develop games, so what to
do? Look at all the potential Nintendo fans. From 6-7 years old, they never
really had a Zelda game of their own to play. So, if Nintendo does make it a
kiddy game, it may be for good reason.
Consider this. If these 6-7 year olds play this game and get addicted
like many of us got addicted to other games, not only could Nintendo have a
wider audience, but when the kids age, they can get smarter, therefore being
able to play the other games. It's simple what NOA does next. Re-release all
of the older games for a portable system. Kids buy those, and BLAM! Nintendo
gets more people addicted.
But, the kids' money wouldn't go to just making those kiddy Zelda
games, they would go to making ALL of the gamer's games. We all win in the
end. We get enjoyment, and the kids do, too. It's just that simple. Thank you
for allowing me the space and time to express my opinion on this matter in
the history of Nintendo.
JohnL9013 Rants:I, for one, am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. If Nintendo wanted to make a
game like that they should have done it on the N64, DUH! I do not know why
they would show an extremely high-detail movie, professionally done, at
spaceworld and then say "dummmm....maybe we'll make it a 2-D cartoon?" I
mean, if more people dislike the game than like it and the 12 and under kids
can't understand the plot (if there will be one) aren't they kind on in a
marketing problem??? And if people who are mad at this won't buy the Gamecube
just for the sake of the Zelda, aren't they losing a lot of money, and if the
people who are complaining about it on your site tell their friends and they
tell their friends...NINTENDO COULD BE TURING INTO A MARKETING FAILURE!!!
THEY COULD LOSE MILLIONS!!!!! What I'm saying is that they should take
advantage of the gamecube's graphics to try to beat the other competitors.
With a cartoon, DISAPPOINTING GAMERS WORLDWIDE!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahem So, I like other people are
against the 2-D concept. Keep up your sites, they rule!
Adam Writes: Hey buddy,
I have been a fan of Zelda since I was 5, I loved the games and I even liked the show (hey I was young ok?). Your site has truely been one of, if not the, best sites on Zelda and other games as well. This new cartoon idea is complete crap. Something needs to be done. What I am suggesting is that You and I start a pention. I know there are tons of Zelda fans who do not want to see the once daring and mysterious Link turn into what appears to be a 5-year old girl whos shield and swoard are too big for her. I encourage you to do so. You don't even need to mail me back if you feel like its too much of a hassle, just get a pention ready, hell you cna say you made up the idea if it works I don't care I just don't want Zelda to be ruined....Please help me out.
ohno64678 Remarks: I think Nintendo can give up a few games to the more mature side of the
gaming world . I mean Link looks like a smurf and and half the people under
the age of 2 wouldn't understand the Zelda plot anyway, so why not give us at
least one game that we can enjoy. I'm sick of those stupid nintendo games
were you are Yoshi and you have to go save eggs or something like that!
Nintendo should name their new system TES(Toddler Entertainment System).
Ice Sendai Explains: I wanted to cry when I saw how Link and the high standard that has been
set for Zelda games, were completely mutilated. However, I have not lost hope.
Miyamoto said in 1999 (I read it somewhere, I'm sorry, I can't remember
where) that the sequel to Ocarina of Time would not be complete for another
five years. If that's true, then what the hell is this piece of crap? I'm
conjecturing here, but doesn't it make sense, that Nintendo would throw
together a video of a zelda game, (one of their few saving graces) in time
for Space World and the release of the Gamecube? They're probably putting
together cell-shade zelda first, (which will obviously be a side quest like
MM, people, come on) and meanwhile working on the zelda we saw at last year's
spaceworld for release at a later date. Nintendo can't show all their cards
right now, they have to have somewhere to climb to. I think they're hoping
the cool Zelda sequel will save their butts a few years after gamecube's
release, like Ocarina and Majora did for the n64. There's also rumour on the
net that Nintendo's currently renting a live-motion capture studio. Hmmm,
whatever for?
I just have trouble believing Nintendo could be so stupid, they've never
let us down like this, I can't believe a cell shaded kiddy Zelda is the best
they can come up with. Even in the video clip that I got off
http://cube.ign.com Miyamoto looked nervous and uneasy.Have faith people,
don't lose it just yet, we can't give up on Nintendo, not yet!
SpamBoy999 Comments: I'll admit, the new Zelda is a travisty against its
fans, but you people should be ashamed of yourselves. An "M" Zelda? What the hell is wrong with you? What is Link gonna do? Rip out Gannons heart and eat it and keep his head as a trophy and then screw Zelda? This is our beloved Zelda, and M content would be more of a crime than this cartoon. Has this rage made you people go insane? Besides, cartoony games aren't inherently bad, granted I would rather they stay on the GBC (which is *gasp* fun! Heaven forbid a "cartoony" game to be fun!). I do agree, however, that this cartoon game is Nintendo's way of spitting in our collective faces. If they have the power to make a game that has good gameplay AND good graphics, then it is their duty to do so. I'd be willing to settle for TOOT graphics, assuming that then they would make the game MASSIVE! But it won't happen. I'll still buy the gamecube for SSB Melee, Rouge Squadron 2, and some other games that Nintendo hopefully won't scrap. By the way, VGX, you have a(many) very, very good !
site(s) and I hope you continue
your glorious work.
Andrew Quigley Wrote to Nintendo: Here is a letter I sent to Nintendo after seeing those horrid screen shots of Zelda for GameCube:
Hello, Nintendo,
My name is Andrew Quigley I'm 17 years old and I've been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series since the first game. I bought a Super Nintendo because it was going to have a Zelda game and bought a N64 for the same reason. The only system I didn't buy was a Game Boy because I don't like handhelds.
The two Zelda's on N64 were awesome. The had large worlds, intriguing and unique characters, solid controls, and most importantly it brought you into the game. When first played Ocarina of Time it felt like a kiddy game, but once Link became an adult the game took on a whole new feel to it. It had a more mature and darker feel to it. Each dungeon you beat got closer and closer to the final battle with Gannondorf. That battle was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in my 13 years of playing games. Then when Ganon rose up from the castles rubble...breathtaking.
Which brings me to Zelda GameCube. After Space World 2000 I was psyched about Zelda. I could not what to get a GameCube. Then I say the pictures of the Zelda at the preSpace World meeting. To put it mildly I was disappointed. It looks like a cartoon, like Pokemon. I hate Pokemon. Where was the astounding polygonal Link? Where was the detail that was present at Space World 2000?
This is Nintendo at its worst. Making Zelda into a kids game just to make an extra buck and keep parents happy. I've always been a Nintendo loyalist, but after seeing that I think I'll pass on buying a GameCube if this is the quality I'll be getting. I guess I'll have to side with Sony in this round of console wars. I think its time for Nintendo to grow a set and start making more games for older gamers.
Thank you for your time
Germane Andersen Expresses: Only one word can describe the sight I've recently objectively seen: why?
Let me just say that the overnight transformation of Zelda for Gamecube has
brought me to the very brink of losing my love for these games forever. I
mean, screw you Nintendo, don't you understand that there are video game
players who don't enjoy this cheesy cartoon style artwork used in
bull-filled Disney movies? I can't describe the way I felt when the one day
I decided to finally finish off the estranged Majora's Mask after neglecting
the game after so long whence I rekindled that old flame inside of me was
brutally masacred by the images brought before me on your webpage. The
feeling died right there infront of me. And now I don't even know if I can
play another Zelda game in my life without remembering those slackass pics
of an almost 2-D looking gay, pansy girl Link winking away at the screen
with two inch long eyelashes. I can't wait to hear the soundtrack for this
game. Wait, that's a bad thing. I'll probably puke out my entire inerds as I
hear a five year old toddler with one badass haircut giggling on the screen
as he gets hit by a large wooden mallet wielded my some drooling oversized
monkey in a clown suit.
Did Miayamoto want it to be like this? I can't even think what the rpg I'm
writing about the fabled Hero of Time will turn out like after these cursid
images entered my head. I can't seem to say this any other way. When I saw
those pictures, it was like when I first saw some of the images of Majora's
Mask: what the hell? But I tried to put it behind me and I bought the game
and I played it and I soon came to stop playing it because I had lost the
interest in the game. I thought Zelda was about medievil times when wars
were fought with sword and shield, magic and darkness and the mystical
feeling you get about the mysterious ways of ancient times. Now, I'm not so
sure anymore. You see, the first time I played Zelda was on a Christmas
morning. The same Christmas morning I got my N64. I placed the golden
cartridge inside of of the slot and turned the power on and saw a mysterious
hero gallantly riding his powerful steed across the land. Wow. And now I see
a strange little boy, who could be easily mistaken for a girl, wimpily
holding a toothpich in one hand and a small shield only rivalled in size by
the small boy's puny body fending off a pinheaded mutated beast with a
stuffed toy axe.
You know, maybe I haven't been a Zelda fan for ever, and I admit I haven't
even played all of the games. But maybe as we've grown up with Zelda, we
realize it's always been like this and once we, too, were those kids under
12 who look forward to these cartoonish games. But on the otherhand, Zelda
has changed and I think Mr. Miayamoto has targetted a younger audience in
the hopes of catching a new age of Zelda lovers whom in turn will follow in
our footsteps.
So, perhaps this change isn't even permanent and soon we will be seeing a
tall green glad hero wielding a sleek silver blade gouging the heart out of
some pale faced curse spewing muscular demon inside of an ancient stronghold
castle during the great storm of a raging Hylian war. In a sense I believe
we can always look back at priceless memories of first playing Zelda, but
all in all, we usually look into Link's personality in the hopes of
discovering what a game is like. That's why we all hated the first view of
Zelda for GameCube. I believe Zelda has evolved into a great legacy in which
sometimes it's fans will have to move on sometime. But I do truly hope that
Zelda will continue in the future, perhaps under a new look (hopefully, oh,
god please!!!!) and will once again capture our hearts as the way Miayamoto
did the first time.
David Comments: I recently saw the new gamecube Zelda footage and Miyamotos explanation of it on the internet site ign.com. Miyamoto says that Zelda needs to go into a new direction and that he needs to differentiate it from the previous Zelda games. What he doesnt seem to understand is that Zelda is a Nintendo tradition. Changing a tradition is usually a bad idea, and the public almost always gives a negative reaction towards it. I am reminded of Coca-Colas attempt to make a "New Coke" after Pepsi started to become popular. People were outraged when Coke sweetened its drink, and Cokes sales plummeted.
I think that this newest version of Link is decidedly a step backwards. The gamecube version will lack the general mysteriousness of the Forest Temple in the Ocarina of Time or the visual majesty of Clock Town in Majoras Mask. I understand that Nintendo is obsessed with appealing to kids under 12 years old, but this kiddie Zelda game will have no plot, no dialogue, and no puzzles in it that make Zelda unique. Miyamoto is forgetting that the Legend of Zelda is already unique; there is no other game that appeals to everyone from an 8 year old (a friends little brother) to an 80 year old (same friends grandma). Catering to kids under 12 will destroy the epic that is the Legend of Zelda. I hope Miyamoto realizes this one day. In the meantime, my collection of 100+ games across three systems has come to an end. I will not buy a gamecube without a good Zelda game.
kjl48 Exacerbates: Miyamoto has really done it this time...
Nintendo is probably going to get "destroyed" by the other companies just because Miyamoto had to take some ecstasy... I wrote to Nintendo and said Miyamoto could shove that game right up his ass...but they never responded...
BUT... be aware that it's not nintendo's fault, it's Miyamoto's fault. And another reason they changed the game was because they wanted it to look funnier... God damn, he's such an idiot... well, you can say goodbye to nintendo unless they somehow don't go bankrupt...
Keep up the good work
Thomas K. Furlong Agonizes: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! (sniffle) (sob) What the ---- happened! With
those graphics on Zelda for GCN, it'll be a best seller just like other
games of its look, such as, hmmm, lets see, those real intense Elmo
alphabet and number games. Those are the sort of disgraceful graphics
on PSX games. Links a munchkin Pre-schooler, and I'll bet anybody that
Ganon is gonna be some demento teenager. That irritating owl who traps
Link in four hour lectures won't be able to fly yet, the impossible to
beat running man will be a little fat kid who could barely stand up, and
the "pyramid" in the Haunted Waste Lands will still be under
construction. In TOOT where Link gave Zelda the ocarina back, she's
probably fooling around with it. In MM, Link's trapped as a child, in
the oracle games, he's an 8 year old, and NOW look what happened. What
happened, Nintendo? What happened Mr. Miyamato? 70% of Nintendo games
are family style. I'm still praying in my mind that those shots were
fake and this'll turn out to be a joke. What most of us need is a Zelda
title played through as Adult Link the entire way, and to have a T
rating from ESRB. In the mean time, I just hope they'll stick with the
great hardware the showed at Spaceworld...
David Matijasevich
Rants: I would have to say that I am pretty disapointed in what I saw of the
screenshots for the upcoming GameCube Zelda game. I can't understand why
they would backstab all of the people who were expecting an epic game. I
guess they sold out to the smaller kids who will buy the game just for the
cartoony looks. How did Miyamoto go from Oni-Link to Mini-Link?
Lindsey Writes: After weeks of looking up pictures of the new zelda game, I thought that the
graphics were great. Then I went to your page and found out that Nintendo had
changed the graphics. What the hell??!?!?!?!?!?!! Why did they do that. Oh
because they thought that it would scare young kids? Give me a break. When I
saw the screen shots for the new game I was pissed. Please say that Nintendo
is freaking joking.
Sensei Comments: Alright, I must say one thing: Many of the people out there that said "This is the END for Nintendo!", or some thing similar, are NOT good fans! You see, VGX says that it is a disappointment, and that Nintendo could have done better, but he hasn't given up hope! I'm sure he's still a Nintendo, Miyamoto, AND Zelda fan, even if he doesn't particularly like ONE of the games! I agree with Krytyn, and I agree with EVERYTHING Krytyn said! I mean, you played the first Zelda games, and they were awesome at the time, and they STILL ARE AWESOME!!!! And WHY are they awesome? The Gameplay! The Plot, Gameplay and the Storyline! Sheesh, I personally am going to play that Zelda.....And I'm gonna beat it, too. I'm not going to sign a petition, I'm not going to gripe and groan, I'm going to play the game.
Emperor Death Bunny Expresses: Let me introduce myseld. My name is EmperorDeathBunny I recently started my
own Entertainment company called "The Ultimate Empire"(inc.) I recently got
to go to space world and I was even able to attend the preshow where
exclusive members of the press and developers could see Zelda and Mario for
gamecube. I strongly feel I wasted $500 dollars on a plane ticket to japan
and $50 on a stupid ticket to spaceworld. I wasted about $1200 or more going
to japan and I came home to the USA, back to Texas, VERY dissapointed. I
shouldn't say dissapointed though as I was more like furious with rage and
upset. I wanted very badly to shout out to Miyomoto-san "What the hell were
you thinking?!" or "What the hell is wrong with you?!" or maybe just "You
asshole!! Damn you, Damn you to hell!". All those went passed into my mind as
I saw the horride 1 minute ZeldaGameCube movie. I kept telling myself "They
are only joking, its gonna cut off and say *Hahahahaha! Sorry Sony! But we
arent dealing with kids anymore! ^_~" Now for the REAL treat!*" But alas, no
such came from miyomoto and I realized it wasnt a joke as an IGNCube editor
who stood near me at the time said "dear god he's not joking" "I dont think
he's joking". Me? I muttered something like "fuck you..." and a few other
select choice words which Im sure are being edited by VideoGamerX right now!
^_~" Although I do not hate nintendo for this, I do hate Miyamoto for making
such a drastic change. And I also agree with a fellow IGN editor when he says
"I believe this style would be perfect for a KidIcarus game". The style of
the game is good, but it is not for Zelda. I will close my opinion by saying
if my company came out with such a game I would be severely dissapointed in
myself. I have some small connections with Nintendo, but I doubt they would
listen to me. Farewell.
SilverDawn87 Explains: This is absurd! Breaking their promises to present us this piece of garbage!?
It's a disgrace to the Legend and an abuse of the Gamecube's capabilities,
this is surely going to crush Nintendo, these graphics are worse than the
n64's! In my opinion, Nintendo never should have separated ways with sony,
now they are doomed.
Huktawnfonixs Asks:Hey VGX
I love the Zelda series, have played all the games, and agree with you
on your views of how the series should be detailed. But what is the concept
of cell shading? I've never heard of it before.
Video Gamer X Replies: Cell Shading is the use of drawings and cartoon animations in place of standard polygonal 3-D graphics. Some notable games that use this are Jet Grind Radio, and Retro Helix.
Adam Secord Says: All I can say is that I'm truly pissed off about these changes. I was
finally hoping I'd get a good game I could show to my friends and say "Look
what Nintendo can do!" Since they're all Playstation lovers, they all love
those, Violent, Shoot em up games. Because of this change, I'm NOT buying a
GameCube now... and personally I'm giving up on Nintendo. I just turned 18,
and I've been a Nintendo lover since I was a kid but come on guys... you
can't be releasing games like this and hope you'll sell a million or 2
copies. That's all I guess, and Great Site btw :-)
Zellman2 Writes:You listen here VGX. A true Zelda fan would buy, and play this game
regardless of the graphics, if they're cartoony or not. If you don't like
the graphics, then it shows how much of a Zelda fan you are: Not a very big
one. Graphics aren't everything you know....just because it appears kiddy
doesn't mean that it can't be fun for people over the age of 13. So, I would
stop bashing Zelda if I were you just because of the graphics.
Holly the Pesky Faerie Gripes: My brother got me out of bed this morning as soon as
he heard the news, and I was promptly pissed off.
After reading the news and seeing Link's "new look," I
got even more pissed off. Why are they doing this?!
This is an insult to the continuity in how realistic
things look in the Legend of Zelda universe! I
thought the games for the N64 were pretty detailed,
and I was thoroughly inmpressed when I saw the first
few sneak peeks at Zelda 128, and got all excited and
impatiently anticipating it's arrival. Now....what
the hell?!! They make it look like a really bad anime
show!! Now, they say that they (being the folks at
Nintendo) had to tone down how aggressive it looked
for fear that little kids would be too scared of Link
with his sword and shield and the mind-blowing
"violent" special effects. Let me go on the record
for saying this. What the hell are little kids doing
playing "violent" games anyway? I don't mean to get
preachy, but this is why the gaming system slaps a
rating on the games. Parents need to take the
responsibility to see what kind of content is on the
game and make that judgmement about whether they want
to let their child play this sort of game. Nintendo
has gotten too PC for the likes of hardcore gamers.
People who play videogames anticipate a new system
boasting better graphics and a more intense gaming
experience. That's why they go out and BUY these new
systems! I'm dissapointed for Nintendo and the
creator of Zelda having to compromise their artistic
integrity just for the sake of little kids. This is
going to take away from my whole gaming experience and
my whole Zelda experience all together now, and I'm
not sure if my brother and I want to invest in a
GameCube when it comes out now.
Thunder|-|awk Explains: I do not pretend to support this version of Zelda in any way shape or form, nor do I have any intention of buying it (unless, and I do mean unless, I am COMPLETELY assured that it has gameplay that is BETTER than Zelda TOoT). I simply wish to provide some hope for some of the most devout Zelda enthusiasts (especially VGX). By now, I'm sure you've all read your share of information about gamecube and Zelda Cube. A few things in particular caught my attention. First off, why on Earth would Nintendo tell the press not to release pictures and movies of the game without making them sign something? They obviously wanted the pictures and movies to leak out nonchalantly. Could they actually be trying to play a joke on us? Think about it, everybody keeps boasting about how quickly development progresses for GCN, and the whole thing looks like an animation job (no game engine at all, or some sort of cheap 3d wrap technique). After all, every one keeps saying it looks like a Disney cartoon come to life. Add to that the fact that the "hardcore" Zelda clip from E3 featured a functioning engine (bumpmaping, realistic but not too realistic character models, realtime lighting, a panning background, and even reflections on Links sword!!!! to name a few obvious signs). If I'm right, this would be a golden opportunity for Nintendo, and it would be a lot less risky than what they appear to be doing. I mean, look at all the petitioning pleas on this page alone. They could get a good idea of how well the game is going to sell (I mean virtually everybody wants it back instead of this cartoon). Plus, they would get tons and tons of cheap, effective promotion out of this if they revealed a true "adult" Zelda (just the kind of thing they need to help capture some of the adult market from Sony and possibly Microsoft). Oh yeah, I don't know about you guys, but I haven't heard anything about Link and all of his cast being changed in Super Smash Bros. Melee. hint, hint...hint, hint Suprisingly, I have other arguements, but I'm getting tired and need to end this. Even if I am wrong, the beginning and end are the only parts that have the really disturbing look to them, and in this case, they'll likely upgrade his appearance to TOoT and MM status (by the way, am I the only one to notice the puns in these initials...toot-ocarina mm-came out in 2000). Otherwise, Star Fox (best character on SSB) is going to have to satisfy me for a while. It's looking better every day. Well, that's enough for now. Only time will tell...
UnholyFactions Tells: hey VGX, i saw the whole zelda issue on your message boards and it is a
discrace to zelda. I love the exhisting zelda adventures where the quality of
story and artwork were the top priority, but i guess nintendo don't care
aobut the gamers anymore.
Do you remember struggeling with The NES Zelda for hours trying to find the
dungeons? Do you remember the tough bosses in Zelda 2? Remember wondering
if Kohlant island was real in Link's Awakening? how aobut the 9 large
dungeons in Link To The past? Or the change to a new world that gave birth to
3D? These are the things that gamers look at or at least inadvertantly think
about. Zelda has always been top notch -- until now. Why? It's all because
nintendo don't wanna grow some balls between their legs and make a killer
adventure that would make you say... "Holy Shit!"
Nintendo why hast thou forsaken us?? This is the end of nintendo; they have
blew their brains out this time and they have some explaining to do other
than what has been said already. It is us older gamers that teach and pass
the skills down to the younger generation. I guess i'll have to invest in a
PS2 this time...
Chan Lim Advises: i dont know if thisll work, but go to http://www.petitiononline.com/EG0609/ and sign the petition if you like. now im not forcing you to sign it, im just telling you there's a petition going on with about 3000 people signed if you didnt notice. every one of us gamers make a big difference.
btw, i am very disappointed about what happened to zelda. not even mario, star fox, which are considered "more kiddy-like" than zelda by majority of people, have the cartoony look. im trying to say all this without cursing, and it is very hard. if they must make that cartoony zelda, call it something like "link's dream adventures" and make another zelda, the true, "mature" zelda that us loyal zelda fans want!
i know most petitions dont work, but i sure hope this one does. and if you could, you could put it on your site or something like that. that'll be a great help.
well, if you decide to ignore my mail, i dont blame you, and if you think what i just wrote about has "wasted your time", i apologize. well, thank you!
Kevin Schrechengost Explains: I whent to IGN and downloaded the Zelda video clip The game looked more fruity the Tocan Sam's Fruity Loops. It was the most $^#&^$$^ Zelda game ever. If that game is not dumb enough then download Mario Sunshine Video clip from http://www.ign.com Mario Looks stupid Sporting a cheezzy lightbulb invention on his back. Nintendo became the most Gayest game maker out there. Check everything out at IGN.
BondJerry Wrote: Come on, give the new Zelda a chance. You automatically assume the game is
bad just because the graphics change. You CAN'T start comparing this to the
CDI games, when you don't even know SHIT about the game. I just removed you
from my favorites section because of dumbass comments like that. From what I
saw, it looked like the game played similar and probably much better than the
N64 Zelda's. You are being very childish... It's like judging a person from
their appearance. If you are over the age of 12, then you should stop being
childish like that. I'm sure that Miyamoto isn't dumbass enough to ruin the
series. By the way: Did you see the awesome battle sequences? Did you see the new stealth like sequences? Think about the positive parts.
zrl6416 Remarks: Good God. The apocalyse has come. How could Nintendo let this
happen? How could Miyamoto let this happen? They have shamed the good
name that The Legend of Zelda Series once had. And to think I was
excited about these new shots appearing. I expected beautiful scenery,
fully rendered 3D towns, kickass battles, and great looking characters.
But what is this? I see crappy graphics. I see poor desgins. I see
something aimed for the kid audience Nintendo holds so well. This can't
be.
Why isn't it aimed towards us 12+ gamers? Hell that is where the
core Zelda fan base is. If Nintendo wants to make kiddie games give them
Mario. Give them Pokemon,or Donkey Kong, or Kirby. But Zelda should not
fall in this category ever. That's what made Zelda so cool, with hard
puzzles, great battles, and a good story line. Now I can imagine this
new Zelda. Puzzles simple enough for 5 year olds. Brain dead enemies for
easy fights. A storyline that's more suited for a nursery. I can't take
it. It must be a nightmare.
We have got to stop this. We can't let this get released. It will
destroy the hearts of Zelda fans everywhere and ruin Nintendo's image
for life. Let Miyamoto realize the mistake, and scrap the project, so he
can rethink of a bigger and better Zelda. One that is more mature, and
very stylish. One like the first demo we saw. The new Zelda is crap. Let
it die. Let it die. Before our hopes die completely.
BigFoot4x4Man Expresses: what the heck came over their mind about changing the zelda gamecube game????
this is what they shouldve done:
they shouldve made the wimpy game that they changed to (for 12 year olds) AND
they shouldve made another game for the big guys like me and everyone
else(the tennagers and adults)!
but hey who knows maybe they'll learn a lesson about this, maybe they wont
make as many sales because of this, lol, but hey you have to admit my idea is
best on what i said about making 2 seperate zelda games ( one for young ones
and one for the big guns) cause i in a way understand a little why they
changed it. the reason i dont like to go to the haunted places is because of
the REDEAD those guys scare the living heck out of me, i dont know why but
they just do; they remind me of zombies and zombie movies. and please dont
deny that those scare you also. im 17 for crying out loud and im admitting
it. i can only imagine what they would look like in gamecube and i think they
would look 5x scarier lol.
this is only my opinion and thought.
but i recommend if they change the game into what they did now that they
better let you shoot beams at the enemies just like link did in the zelda
cartoons, that would be enough to make me buy the game. maybe we should get
all kinds of people to email NINTENDO and tell them to make two seperate
games; one for teens and adults and one for little kids.
thank you for reading this and please post it on the odyssey of hyrule site
cause im sure this will be a useful piece of imformation for some people and
maybe the nintendo company themself. who knows???
L Kidd Wrote: Hold on, Myamoto is not a fool, I d'nt think this is what the final game
will be like.I am dissapointed that they did this but,i do not think
Miyamoto will scrap the spaceworld 2000 demo for this new one. But lets
not forget it's the gamplay and the satifaction that makes a zelda game.
Kyle Implores: There's gotta be something we can do videogamerx. This is all bullshit. Why must nintendo be so stupid? Aren't they aware that the only thing kids today are into is pokemon and not zelda because it involves to much puzzle solving? Jeez, anyone who likes Zelda that I know is at least 15 or older. I never liked how Sony came into the console world thinking that they were going to rule all, but I will get a Playstation 2 and not a Gamecube.
I was looking forward to running around a huge 5000+ acre hyrule with amazing detail and solving puzzles that take days at a time. Ocarina of Time is the best out of all the Zelda games I've played in the past, because of the graphics, control and gameplay. And, I've played every single zelda game known to man. I could barely live throught the pokemon years, and now this. Miyamoto has been my favorite game developer forever, Majora's Mask was a little Disappointing (besides the old music being back in this game), but this time he crossed the line. In the words of my dumbass spanish teacher "Adios Nintendo, Hola Playstation."
Linkette Wrote In: That is it Miyamoto has finally had a nervous break down and the prozac they put him on has made him turn Link into a psuedo Mickey Mouse! The whole video clip looks like the Lion King, those things chasing him look rather like Pumba!
To all those still sucking up to nintentdo might I remind you that graphics do count, as does realistic gameplay. I loved the fact that your jumps, backflips, sword attacks et cetera( in TOOT) were realistic in terms of what an Hyrulian that size could do. It was very fun to gallop of an a horse and go fishing! Now in this lastest installment in seems that Link has gone mario and can Jump 5 times his own height. What the fuck is going on with the shield and sword? It looks like a preschool dress-up costume cut out of cardboard!
The series started when some old nintendo employee was working on a game idea after reading Lord of the Rings, J.R.R.Tolkien, and Miyamoto found the stuff he was working on from it LoZ was born (correct me if this is wrong because I can't remember where I heard it). Now anyone who has read Lord of the Rings or at least The Hobbit, knows really what this 'old employee' was working towards and that would tend to look something like the awesome clip of Link fighting Ganondorf. It would have that same graphical feel and medievil characteristics and not look like well in fact in almost looks like Rare have gotten their hands on it and made a Link sprite in there own Visage.
I love the challenge of puzzles (not they they were hard at all when I was 15 and playing TOOT) and I love a game that takes at least a 3days to play through once you have already finished it %100. But I can't see this happening with NGC Zelda, the wording is going to be like 'the cat sat on the hat...' and the bloody answer will be highlighted in green and his fairy will tell you exactly what you have to do if you ask three times!
L Kidd Advises: Hold on, Myamoto is not a fool, I d'nt think this is what the final game

David Petrovich Outrages: No!! This Isnt happening to me! please! No!!!!
Shigero shoved a knife in our backs (and Link's) and twisted it and laughed with a helpless look on our faces...nintendo ...Link, Video gamer X,me,and fans.
screw you nintendo,"im not bying this Disgrace" They make Link look like a dweeb, and gave nintendo a bad name. Kids all over the U.S.A. That should speak up and Help!!!!!!!!
Francisco Lizzaraga Complains: As You know I found out the news by watching the video(Spaceworld in
IGN.com) and believe me I'm not at all excited! They ruined it! It's
over! The Legend is Over! The last one were Link was fighting Ganon that
was a true Legend, like you said before and what I have said when I saw
this"Should they have kept that up, this would be what millions would
have called 'The Final Fantasy Killer'(No Offense....it's not gonna
happen)" But anyways I'm pissed that Nintendo didnt have a clue what the
"New" Link looked like, and I'm even more pissed that MIYAMOTO the man
who created The Legend of Zelda let this one go out into stores.*sigh*
This Video Gamer X is the fall of The Legend of Zelda. I hope they
change it soon, because if they dont then their dead, Virtual Boy was
excusable but this my friend is the fall.
Giant655 Says: I was surfing your LoZ OoT site and I saw some screenshots for the zelda game
coming out for gamecube and like the reason says I hope you are joking
because that pretty much is like shooting fish in a barrel if they really
revamped the whole game with a disney like atmosphere. I was looking forward
to doing some sword-slinging against ganondorf because of what I saw in the
screenshot I really hope youre pulling our legs like when you did the t-rex
thing (yeah I am a fan!!) and later post the just kidding cause if not
nintendo would be killing some of their better franchise!!
Video Gamer X Adds: I truly wish I was making this up. I wish it was a big laugh and we could say "oh sorry about that, here are the real shots even better than Spaceworld 2000" but alas, it's not true, and cold facts are staring us in the face.
Jennifer Sharp Cries out in Agony: Nooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Well...the screen shots brought me to tears, the toon town Zelda is pathetic............
SBTrunks1 Explains: First of all I think that Nintendo just jumped out of a plane without a
parachute!
They jacked the crap out of one of the best RPGs ever made, Zelda GCN was the
only game that could really make GCN worth buying, and waiting for.
Origionally GCN was supposed to be for a mature audience and now it's for all
these little punk kids that can't play Zelda, because they dont know how to
swing the sword!
I want the old Zelda style back!
Garion08 Despises: What the hell?!!?!? If you don't mind me I'm going to use some colorful
language here. #)@#98403850#@)$*%)$(*%)$(*) and "smurf" that Nintendo!
Gezes! I This is a piece of crap in the making. Ok I think they fired poor,
old Miyamtio or who ever the old creater of the Zelda games was and replaced
him with some wipe @ss for the parents programer. This is an insult to all
Zelda fanatics. The little kids should get a real life. Stop trying to act
older than they are. The majority of Zelda fans have watched this series grow
up from the begining. Little kids don't know jack squat of what is a "true
Zelda game" is.
Video Gamer X why was Zelda the one to get bashed. Oh Zelda's graphics go
down because it's to violent. Ok sure, just bann everything. Does this have
to do with Nintendo America. If the original plan comes out in japan that'd
so just how much America sucks. (and I live in the USA too!)
For me, Gamecube has lost all respect in my eyes. The graphics are worse than
the N64. Ok I think I'll convert to Final Fantasy until nintendo shapes up
their act. Mature Gamers are slowly fading. That's sad.
I think everyone above the 5th grade should stand outside the Nintedo company
and have a riot. VideogamerX can lead us in this rebelion for Zelda glory.
SephTepes Disgruntles: Nintendo, I hate you. Miyamoto, I'm so dissapointed in you. How could you
do this to us? We stayed loyal to you all these years, and this is how you
repay us? By dashing away all our hopes and dreams for the sake of pleasing
preteen children who can't appreciate or understand a half-decent game?
VGX, please read my letter and post it on your site. I feel a great need to
express my thoughts and be heard on this subject. I'm so dissapointed I
could cry...
Nintendo has literally commited suicide. Sony and Microsoft are going to
exploit this in every way possible. All over the internet, cries of "DOWN
WITH MIYAMOTO, DEATH TO NINTENDO!!" are being carried up by the masses. And
all because of a BIG mistake on Nintendo's part.
To quote my friend, "If that game is gonna look so [censored], who's gonna
buy it? This has to be fake...I thought Nintendo lost their kiddy edge in
regard to Link with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask..."
Sony beat Nintendo over the head with a stick because of that kiddy image,
and now it rears it's ugly (and I do mean ugly in every sense of the word)
head. Take a look at OoT and MM, they were great games because of their more
mature look! I was as excited as you, VGX, about Gamecube Zelda, expecting
them to finally make an epic story out of the Legend of Zelda.
When I saw the screenshots on another site, I laughed them off as fake. When
I saw the video, I was too shocked to speak. I went to bed, literally too
disturbed to sleep for a while. I knew that you would be so angry at this
that you'd have an editorial on the site, and as soon as I got online today I
set out for your site. Sure enough, there was already a number of insults
directed at Nintendo.
You can be sure Nintendo will be getting an e-mail from me....not that I'll
do any good by myself. I implore you, VGX, you've got more power than any of
us by ourselves. We should make a petetion to save Zelda and not let it
mutate into what we've seen. No Zelda website is as revered as yours, and I
know this for a fact. Continue to berate Nintendo for their foolishness, I
know I will.
Maddy Speaks Out: Hey VGX. I'm so angry at Nintendo!!! WHY did they have to change our beloved Zelda? WHYYYY?!?! Zelda was supposed to be hella tight on the GC! And now when they have the superb graphics, they go and screw it all up!!! I can tell this Zelda is NOT getting many sales. I GUESS I'll still buy it because it's Zelda and all , but I'm VERY disappointed in Nintendo for doing this to my favorite game series!!! I'm so angry!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!! The new screen shots show that the new Zelda will be a big disappointment in my opinion, but who knows, it could be hella tight. But I doubt it. My dreams....are shattered.... Ahh well, they could change it I guess, if we all mailed Nintendo and said how pissed we are. I'd like to see their faces when I mail them. Again, my dreams...are shattered.... I give Nintendo 5 BIG HUGE ANGRY THUMBS DOWN!!!!!
Stefan Remarks: I was dissapointed about the new Zelda footage as well. I was really, really,
looking forward to the new game. Also, Nintendo's excuse is really a blow to
me, being 14. I was hoping that finally, they would put out a more
sophisticated Zelda. I should have known, the company that gave us Pokemon
caring more about little kids than us.
Even so, I will probably still look into this one. I remember being less
than enthtralled with the Idea of having gameplay driven by masks, of all
things, and look how Majora's mask turned out.
In addition, I doubt nintendo would go to the trouble of animating a Full 3D
Link AND Gannondorf for not only the spaceworld demo, but also Super Smash
Brothers Melee and not actually use them in a zelda game. It just doesn't
make sense. There may be hope for us yet.
Kathy G Explains: I just looked at those newest Gamecube screenshots and I could've cried, I
was so disappointed! The Legend of Zelda is a great game, but it has so much
room for improvement! I thought Nintendo knew that too when I saw the first
screenshots! I used to daydream about what the improved graphics would look
like! The Legend of Zelda deserves to be an epic. It deserves to rival Final
Fantasy 7! (I still think that's the best FF game.) The characters still
have so much room to grow (literally and figuratively)!
I was thinking maybe Nintendo could make two games, one for kids and one for
teens if they're so gung ho about keeping up their E rating. And when you
come right down to it, their apparent target audience doesn't have $59.99
laying around to buy these games (I sure didn't).
The Ocarina of Time had something special. Does Nintendo have no eyes to
see, no ears to hear? (I've been reading Shakespeare lately, excuse me.)
Nintendo gave these games magic. Why can't they feel that magic? And why do
I have the sinking feeling that adult Link was something we've never seen
before and will never see again?
Oh Nintendo, do what you will, but I beg you, don't do anything rash.
I10Devils Says: I looked at the screeshots....and holy shit did they change it. Why did they
HAVE to do that?!? Thats it! I hope X-box or PS2 wil kick gamecubes ass and
nintendo gamecube will go a path lke DC did..Now link looks so weird.
John de Oliveira Writes: Hey I feel the same way too. Write to nintendo like i did and tell them you
will never ever buy gamecube. better yet copy and paste this message board
and send it to them first stopping off in hell where they will burn. IM
sorry guys but nintendo is just too F%$king stupid for me to waste my time
with right now. I cant believe they insulted us with that kiddie crap. i
told nintendo they should get off the crack and maybe join barbie or toys r
us if they are into that shit. I want all of you guys to buy Xbox like i
already did. Its going to be so much better than nintendo. If you feel like
they insulted you too dont help them out by buying gamecube. nintendo's
franchise must die with gamecube.
Stupid Bush Comments: I have to say, this looks like summit off my colour gameboy!!! Yeah with a
Zelda as cartoony as this, they may have more room for a larger hyrule and
bigger better dungeons, but as well as a great game to play, Zelda is also
meant to look slightly real. If I want to play with cardboard cut-outs of
one of my favourite Nintendo games i will, but i won't be buying a Gamecube
to do it!!!!
Anyway, i thought Zelda wos sposed to be aimed at people older than 12!!! I
mean when i wos under 12 I played Zelda, but I thinkGamecube have to move
on, instead of taking a huge leap backwards with the cardboard cut-outs, and
bring back the mature Zelda we saw at E3
Ron Deep Complains: I actually came to your site after I found out about this at www.nintendojo.com. Now I'm reading through just about everybody on the internet's opinion and getting mixed results. Now, according to nintendojo Nintendo stated to the press that they are going to market GC solely to children. THAT'S what took the cake. While some people are praising this sorry excuse for a Zelda game they're failing to realize that when a game looks like that... well they ain't planning to make something epic. I've seen opinions saying that these are just beta shots and they'll change. Hmm, how much did Beta Link from OoT change in overall design? I also am hearing opinions about more dungeons, more enemies, better gameplay, etc. You've got to be pretty blind not to see that Nintendo isn't planning a better game. They're trying to sell out the little kid audience. Really, WHY ELSE would link look like that?! I refuse to buy a gamecube or remain loyal to this kind of shit! FUCK YOU NINTENDO!
Piccolo11089 Writes: I think Nintendo really fucked up that Zelda game i mean it looks like
something i could make with Legos. The thing is that Zelda was probaly gonna
be the best game that Nintendo made for gamecube currently. But the rest of
the games that they made for gamecube look pretty good. But everyone was just
looking forward to Zelda, dont get me wrong Zelda is my favorite game series
but people just gave up on gamecube not giving time to think about the other
games like Super Smash Bros. Melee,Luigi's Mansion, the game that not many
people knew about Donkey Kong Racing and other great games. All im saying is
that people shouldn't give up on gamecube because they made a different Zelda
game,Nintendo might make another better Zelda game in the future.
Mike3mmm Gripes: Nintendo is destroying itself and taking Zelda with it. The only thing we can
do is call on everyone in the Zelda community to send in letters of complaint
and e-mail to nintendo. There are millions on Zelda fans out there who don't
want to see this legendary series end like this. The Legend of Zelda series
is the only one of its kind and we cannot stand by and watch this happen. I
am therefore calling on every Zelda fan in the country and in the world, to
petition Nintendo to change this 5 year olds game, into a 15 year olds game.
We can do it. And we will.
Jlinfre Explains: I can't belive what they've done to it! The Zelda games are or were legends,
true icons in the gaming world but now this travesty will bring shame on the
series. I was looking foward to the gamecube and the Zelda game from the
shots I'd seen but now I've almost lost heart. Thank You Nintendo (not)
Dave008Bond Vents: Never before have I EVER been so mad it Nintendo. I survived Pokemon, I
dealed with Paper Mario, and I surfered through Yoshi's Story. But THIS time
I won't take it.
Heck, I don't need to explain, your about the biggest Zelda fan I know, and I
consider myself a hardcore Zelda fan. But even through my bias, I can't
belive what I'm seeing. Is Nintendo joking? It literally can make a hardcore
Nintendo fan cry after seeing
Yoshi, Mario, and now Link turn into these awful new "innovations". How can
you go
from an extrememely impressive graphics engine that works were Zelda 64
stopped,
and turn it into something that even looks WORSE than Zelda 64? I can't
believe I'm saying this, but Nintendo has finally stabbed everyone who is
over 7 in the neck. Zelda wasn't meant to be a cutesy game that is comical,
its meant to be the tale of a boy/adult who is trying to rid evil from his
home. Zelda fans know Zelda better than its creator does. I hope the Gamecube
fails even worse than the Virual Boy at this point. At least Sony knows what
its gamers want, and I think Microsoft will be the same.
Bryan Smith Irates: dear go what the fuck where they thinking. I have played every bloody zelda game out there i and i have to say this has got to be there dumbst idea yet. for god sakes majoras mask was bad enough now this! I swear to god if they keep this up the president of noa is going to be publicly shot. I think we should all start sending them very strongly worded letters demanding that they change the game. now the only thing game cube has got goin for it is the new super smash bros. simplythey just took them selfs out to the wood shed and beat the livin shit out of them selfs on this one.
Krytyn Says: Yes, the new Zelda is cel shaded to give it a cartoon look. But what's wrong
with cartoons? Some of the best cartoons I've ever seen were geared towards a
younger crowd, but had tons of subtext that only older viewers would
recognize (Garfield and Friends springs instantly to mind).
To me, this game looks like a flashback to earlier times. The abundance of
Moblins in the demo could be indicative of a remake of the first Zelda.
Nintendo recently revised the timeline of the entire Zelda series, apparently
because someone mistranslated the text and messed something up. In the new
timeline, the games are apparently ordered like this: OoT, MM, LttP, LoZ, LA
(taking place when the raft from Legend of Zelda crashes on Koholint Island),
and AoL, with Link being the same person throughout the games, and not a
descendant. The Zeldas, on the other hand, are in fact different princesses.
Now, the only early game that I played extensively was LttP, and already the
NGC Zelda reminds me of this one. (Please don't tell me that I'm the only one
who saw the cartoonish humor in this game.) The first time I played it, I
enjoyed it immensely. In fact, I still do. What if the new Zelda game is a
remake of this one, but in 3D? Or better yet, a remake of LoZ in 3D? Wouldn't
you hate to say that you missed it because (Oh My God No [cringes in mock
terror]) it was funny? What could they have been thinking, trying to make a
game that people of all ages could enjoy? Shame on them!
For all of you people who say that Zelda is for the grown people, my cousins
are just as ardent Zelda fans as you, and they're in the 6-12 age range. And
you people can't really be serious when you say that just because the game
looks like a cartoon that it will have way simple puzzles. Link didn't even
have a mouth in the ealy Zeldas, and that didn't make the games any easier,
now did it? Anyway, there are a lot of people who wouldn't have gotten
through OoT near as fast as they did without a fairy to ask for help (or a
strategy guide to fall back on when things got really tough), and it looks
like there won't be a fairy this time.
All things Zelda aside, I am starting to worry about Nintendo. Back at E3,
didn't they say they were trying to get rid of their kiddy image? And now
they're saying that they don't want to walk too far down the non-kiddy road?
Get it together, Nintendo. I'm still not buying an X-Box, but the near total
lack of atmospheric action games has led me to the conclusion that I must get
a PS2 (MGS2, Blood Omen 2 and Soul Reaver 2 are so going to rock).
Sam Atwood Outrages: I'm angry as fuck. I don't think everyone has seen the clip of it at ign.com... it REALLY IS a cartoon!!! I encourage all you people who think it might not be too bad to go there and look at the clip... if you still aren't disappointed, then you obviously have never really played any Zelda. It's depressing what the greatest series of all time has come to. (To be posted on your site...please!!!!!)
Sam
Julia Writes: I've been playing Zelda since 'Ocarina of time'. It was really
depressing to see the new look of Zelda. I hope it's just a big joke. Like
you said I don't see how they could go from the way it looked in 2000 to the
way it looks now. It was wrong for them to lead gamers on, by the way it
looked then only to come to this. Hopefully Nintendo still has plenty of time
to fix it.
MJA Gripes: Dude, I think you should send these all into Nintendo and do something about
it. Make a petiton or something...I'll sign it. Kick Nintendo right in the
ass.
Castle Guard Explains:Hello VGX. This is Castle Guard from your message boards, and I am writing
this to you to comment on the the new Zelda game coming for GameCube. I will
admit that I was fairly disappointed at first, and even angered to some
extent, but after viewing the movie from IGN, I must say that actually...it
looks pretty good. From my point of view, anyway. A little too cartoony,
maybe, but you must all realize that the animation is VERY well done, and a
lot of work must have gone into that. A lot of you also seem to be saying
that this is suddenly the "Downfall of Nintendo" or something similar. Well,
I disagree, because other than how it looks, so far we know NOTHING about
this game. Who knows...maybe Nintendo will be able to pull something good out
of this. Nintendo is merely trying new things, and the Paper-Mario style of
graphics is a big risk, but Nintendo is willing to take it. And another
thing, this cannot be a "kiddie" game. Zelda is NOT a "kiddie" game, no
matter HOW it looks. We still have no idea of what kind of puzzles are going
to be in this, what kind of quests, what kind of weapons, etc. A very little
kid could never beat a Zelda game because many of them would get frustrated
with the constant hard puzzles that Zelda offers. You can all make ALL the
predictions you want, but I just ask you all to have a little hope. This is
not the Downfall of Nintendo. This is Nintendo, trying out something new, and
I for one think it will go through. No-one ever succeeded without taking
risks, you know.
I can't deny that I didn't feel a little anger at first. This is not at all
what I was expecting. I'm sure we all felt that the new Zelda for GameCube
was going to be a huge epic 3-D world with amazing graphics like we had never
seen before. Now it's changed, and a lot of you are suddenly saying, "All
right, that's it, Nintendo is done, this is a horrible tragedy and Zelda is
wrecked forever" when the game is VERY, VERY far from release, and none of
you can say that you've played the game. I'm not trying to put anyone down
here, I'm just asking that you all just put down your petitions for the
moment and wait it out. Play the game yourself, and tell me you feel the same
way as you do now. Have a little hope that the big N will be able to come
through.
InsaneDilandauDS Remorses: Zelda used to be a pretty game that I wanted to play. Back when TOOT
came out, we didn't have much money so I couldn't get the game...but I really
wanted it, so I got my brother to get it for me for Christmas. It was a late
start, but I really loved the game. I had never played any of the other
Zelda games but once I played TOOT I was hooked. The graphics may not have
been the smoothest or best, and there were lots of glitches, but the glitches
were fun and the graphics didnt really hurt anything. Infact, the back alley
of the Hyrule market place reminded me of where I used to live when I was a
little girl. Gerudo Valley also reminded me of something from my childhood,
maybe when I was a little older than Hyrule Market Place. The Spirit Temple
was like something from my dreams and the music was beautiful. I also liked
nothing more than to sit at the entrance to the temple of the Lost Forest at
night and watch all the little glowing spirits float around and listen to
Saria play the ocarina. But now what do they give us?? A cartoon! I was
very disappointed..I was looking forward to the beautiful graphics and music
of TOOT and even Majora. I can't believe how they ripped us off...all for
the sake of kids! I hate children, I never liked them. They're such brats!!
If Nintendo were wise, they would know there are many more of us that will
buy the game, since little kids could care less whether you buy them a
cartoony game of Zelda or a cartoony game of Mario! We would actually
appreciate Zelda, unlike the little brats who they're making it for. You
know what would be good though? If they made a game like the one they showed
us before, the one with the better graphics...but they put a parent control
unit on it, and if the kids are 12 and under they can have the cartoony
version instead. It would take up alot more space, but it could work. If
they made 2 seperate games, I would be very happy...even if they did already
disgrace Zelda by putting that piece of shit cartoon under the title.
Gamekid4848 Grudges: This sucks! It gets worst I've seen the video! It's pathetic, the enimies start to cry! Cying enemie's how's that. And there all the same ,PIGS! Not
another type in sight! I hate the graphics. At the end Pigs chase Link and
his little 2d face! Then he see's a chandler, jump's on it the enemies fall
in a hole not before trying to run in the air. Then Link winks, probably
hoping little kids would say"Link winked at me ,hooray." Let's hope they see
that the game won't sell and make it the way we like it!Caus I'm ready to
send hate mail to Nintendo.
Gadzooka90 Complains: I was shocked when i saw the screen shots for ZeldaGameCube. I was first
thinking it had to be joke, that nintendo wouldn't do that to us Zelda fans
.But then i saw more screen shots. What about the starfox for gamecube? Why
don't they do the same thing to that? Its not fare that they take this
wonderfull game and turn it into this cartoon like crap. I am hust hoping
that this is a joke...please say it is.
Pat Explains: Zeldas sunk to a new low! Just because they want to reach out to a younger audience, dosent mean they have to revert to SNES graphics. Dont get me wrong, the SNES was my second favorite console, but weve evolved. Nintendo cant last. We have to get a petition circulating, or else Zelda is doomed. Im half way tempted to just blow off the gamecube. With graphics like that, imaging plot and design. Itll prolly take 5 minutes to get through the first part of the game, and 2 hours for the rest. And itll likely be a no-brainer. Why are they doing this? *sigh* Zelda and Samus must be ashamed representing a company like this. Screw pikachu.
David Wrote: My name is David and this is what I have to say about this sudden turn around. I am studying to be a computer tech and accualy got to do a collage report on
the next generation of game consoles. I know the capabilities of the Game
Cube hardware. I am also a very large fan of Zelda. I feel that this is a
stab in the back and a sort of lazy way out. I had such high hopes for this
one. I couldn't wait to se Link in his ful potential glory. When I saw the
title of the IGN article that said Cartoon Zelda I thought that it ment a
Computer animated TV series was planed not a degridation to the game
franchize. The game looks like the mising link (no pun intended) between "A
Link To The Past" and "Ocarina Of Time". Needless to say I am very
disapointed.
I will however step out on a limb and give them the benifit of the doubt that
Nintendo knows what they are doing. They opened up a lot of space on that
disc by reducing the graphics so I hope they have sacrificed graphics for a
huge and in depth game. but at this point I am quite dissapointed with how
the game looks. I know they can do better so why aren't they.
Cabal1 Says:I think that this might be a different game to the one we've seen before. The reason I think this is that in this latest preview Link is a kid but in the first one he's an adult. I hope this is what it is and if it isn't then I hope that Nintendo come to their senses and give us the other Zelda game. Or maybe they're going to keep the earlier game under wraps because they haven't finished it yet. I hope Nintendo listens to us gamers and don't make fools out of themselves by releasing this rubbish. My last words are; if you want cartoony, get Mario.
blinkfan Adds: Well, in one fell swoop Nintendo has not only destroyed it's most popular series, but also it's chances of selling a reasonable amount of Gamecubes. That's the kind of influence Zelda has on the gaming world. I'm still in utter shock over this travesty, the most cartoony and immature Zelda incarnation yet (and the last gameboy games were pretty damn kiddie). They can work on the gameplay all they want. With Zelda, great gameplay is pretty much a given. I believe it was the world of Hyrule that really drew people in. The feeling that you were still in a real world, but a new and fantastic variation where anything can happen. It was the sense of freedom that I, and I'm sure many other gamers loved. Now, that world has been reduced to a Saturday morning cartoon. I'm still clinging to the hope that this is all one big joke and the real Zelda is yet to be shown. It's the only way I can deal with the incredible stupidity and betrayal of Nintendo. I find it hard to believe that Miyamoto thought this one up. I think the higher ups forced a more kiddie game because they knew they had that market cornered. Nintendo seems to have lost all it's integrity. They have just sealed their fate in the upcoming console wars.
Dana Lutenegger Remarks: ARRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! Why is everyone dissing the zelda cartoon
game????? I think it is just fine. Let me ask you something, do you
play zelda for the graphics? They may add to the atmosphere of the
game, but you all played the early zeldas, which were flat and 2d
just like a cartoon anyway. I don't know about all of you, but I
play Zelda for the puzzles and the excitement of fighting enemies and
bosses. Also, based on the movie clip, the game seems to not really
be a CARTOON, but a pseudo-3d, or even real 3d game with link drawn
in a CARTOON STYLE. All of the enemies shown weren't really cute and
cartoonish, only link was. This has been mentioned before, but with
graphics that aren't super realistic, they could make the game HUGE!
Having Link drawn in a cartoon style will not effect the puzzle or
fighting quality at all, and could end up benefitting the game, so I
see no reason to hate it. This is just like what happened with the
original Donkey Kong game back in the early 80's. That game had a
different style than many games of the time, but it certainly wasn't
a failure. And DK had a different GAMEPLAY style than most games of
its time. Zelda for Gamecube is just a GRAPHICS difference! Sorry
if I sounded like an enraged maniac while writing this, but I just am
sick of people going nuts over a graphics change that doesn't extend
to the rest of the game. Don't give up on Nintendo yet, they have
the skill and expertise to make this the best game it can be.
Robb Says:I agree totally with you on the Zelda thing.
Fuck Nintendo for what they've done. I've lost all hope in them. After turning Metroid to a First Person Shooter, after Killing Zelda, the Squaresoft banishing, and after Pokemon's charades, I give up.
Nintendo will die, and die they shall. I hope to see X-Box or PS2 CRUSH THEM. I think you should retire your Zelda site, just as a message to fans.. I don't want you wasting time with Nintendo. You are a good, smart gamer. You have a writer's charm, a reviewer's eye, and the crowd's favor. Nintendo will only frustrate your talents.
Let them go. They're nothing, anymore. Nothing.
Duces Wrote: Wow. That, in my opinion, killed the gamecube. I was so exited about
getting the gamecube too, but after seeing that, i'm not even going to waste
my time and money on those poser punks an nintendo. I couldn't agree with you
more. They better change that, or make 2 seperate versions of the game if
they want themselves to go anywhere in the gaming industry, seeing that they
already have 1 foot in the grave. Well, keep up the good work on your sites.
Corey Says: I have been going to your site for along time now and I really admire it, I
was wondering if the new zelda gamecube shots are official or not? If So, I
would like to complain to nintenedo.
Epona84 Explains:When I saw those screen shots I have never felt such extreme dissapointment,
anger, and shock in my whole entire life. Those pictures of Link nearly brang
me to tears!!!!!! What did they do to poor Link?!!!! I like little kids but
why do they have to ruin everything for everyone
else?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider

Nikoda Expressed: I just got the news today...I'll never forget this day...The only reason I ever started playing Nintendo, continued playing it, and demoted my gaming reputation (I am sure you are aware of the reasons) by saying, and believing that Nintendo is better was because of The Legend Of Zelda series.
The series have that concept. It has that feel, a mature idea, behind all those polygons AND a certain look that gives it an irrestible appeal. I can't put in words but I doubt that you can either. Even though all of the games in the series are "E" rated by the forsaken ESRB, I kept playing them. Zelda is one of the very few "E" games I play only because of the idea and appeal it has to me. I like Playstation games and I play them too, but none of them compare to TOOT. I see what you like in the Final Fantasy series. I like those things too, BUT, TOOT itself with all it's TECHNICAL flaws and simple plot still has the feel. It let's your imagination have a little control. YES, that's what so special about TOOT (I didn't play the other Zelda games to be honest except Majora's Mask, never got the chance.) IT'S FREEDOM. The characters are not super, highly detailed, but we know from the game how they should look, how they do the things the do. We have a deep spiritual understanding of the game and it's characters. This can go on for ever... I am one of the most loyal Zelda fans. I am not a religious person, officially speaking, but I do have a religion of a sort. You guessed it, Zelda....
Ok, ok....Down to business...Nintendo seems to believe that this is going to actually work. It was obviously corrupted, and I think the only way to give them their late 80's and early 90's glory back is to make a little offensive to it's very core.
Sony is well aware of the fact that Nintendo's most valuable asset that keeps it together is Link, not Mario ( I think Nintendo thinks otherwise, every game seems to have a Mario in it?). If Nintendo is going to screw up on Link, they are gone, and Nintendo will if this game debuts. It will slowly kill Nintendo, it will have a lifespan of a Dreamcast. Now, there is a small chance that the government might step in here, because of a possible monopoly but I doubt it. It had a reason with the Microsoft/Macintosh case, but platform industries are very different in this particular view. That out of the way... To the "core offensive".
There are two effective solutions I am aware of at this point that will do the trick and keep Nintendo in business plus a few bonuses that might put it in Sony's place.
1. Petition: If we could get enough signatures, we can get Nintendo to listen. We could cancel the "Zelda Cartoon" and make them do a GOOD ZELDA, with the supervision of creative Zelda fans with common sense (People just don't realize how hard it is to give Link 100 hundred spells, 1000 sword moves, 10000 squared kilometers worth of land to explore...). This will delay the game's release but that has to be done, we cannot rush, we must have patience. The storyline could be kept most likely...We MIGHT even get them to AT THE VERY LEAST get Zelda to "T". TO HELL with the "E" tradition. I'd like "M" or "A" better but there are parents who have influnce and power to keep their "12+" kids from playing and if Nintendo doesn't make a good revenue....
In either case, the most important step is to get them to cancel "Cartoon Zelda".
We can also boycott, paper mail them with about 100,000 letters of complaint and stuff, in other words we need to make them see the consequences.
I am but one lone wolf teenager, and I do not think I can accomplish this myself. You on the other hand, one of the most prominent personas in the Zelda/Nintendo community just might. I am willing to help with all the resources at my hand. I do not want The Zelda series to disapate or go into Sony's hands. Sony doesn't know how to make these type of games.
Saria39 Wrote: You're completely right about the new Zelda game... it's a disgrace! I was
shocked when I saw the first screen shots too, but I figured, "ok, so it's a
new look... they're just trying a new look, it'll be different, in the way
Majoras Mask was different..." but then you proved you're point about the
plot; if it looks this kiddy, no way would it be half as epic as Ocarina.
Have they learned nothing? Never has a Zelda game looked so childish... wan't
Ocarina one of the best selling games of all time... wasn't it good for the
young and old alike... a lot of fans will sadly be lost when this new,
butchered Zelda game comes out. Have you voiced your opinions to Nintendo?
everything you wrote about this game has so much validity, and coming from
such a hardcore Zelda fan... I mean, with such prestigious Zelda websites-
someone would have to listen- after all, wasn't it the complaints of the
people that turned Conker from another cutesy game into what it finally
became? It was the voice of the people that said Nintendo was becoming too
cutesy that made Rare open its eyes and change the game... I wonder, do they
think making a game like Conker gives them the right to now destroy a game
like Zelda? As of now, I couldn't care less what they did to Conker, as long
as they don't do this to the Zelda series... Link is second only to Mario as
far as major Nintendo characters go, and Mario sure as heck is never going to
become any more "adult" of a game... they HAVE to leave us Zelda, the only
epic series they have... It now looks something like Paper Mario... If they
want to make a Zelda game for little kids, fine-Make it on the gameboy or
something- but who really is crazy enough to design the first ever GAME CUBE
Zelda Game for little kids? It's hard to believe they could be that
stupid...It's first title on a new system, what, did "Elmo's Adventures in
Number Land" really bring in the dough to the point they think can pull this
off? sheesh.
JoTravin Complains: Wow, what the fuck did they do? Ive e-mailed you before, i know your busy and
all but im hoping ull respond to this, was that the last change, i mean,
nintendo always changes game designs a bunch of times, im hoping theyll go
back to the way it was before, what the hell is their problem anyways? I was
buying a gamecube soly for zelda, ive been playing zelda all my life and now
im aobut to stop becuase those morons at nintendo decided to change it, im
just wondering if the change is final and if i should take my reserve off of
gamecube and buy a ps2 or somthing for final fantasy, cuz squaresoft hasnt
quite failed yet, but, yah, thats all i was wondering, my e-mail adress is
[email protected] so if you have time to respond please do
Arigato Ranma 85 Whimsically Exasorbates: ::Starts crying:: WHAT THE HELL? First Link's damn... Kiddie look in Oracles

reduced TITS too! Yeah. They'll make DeadHand look like a little white...
Thing!!Do ou miss the old days when Oot had Ganon's balls flying all over?
When Zelda was actually PRETTY? When Cardboard Masks didn't cover Hyrule?
When nude fish girls gve you jewelry? When Bill And Ted played it and called
it "MOST RIUMPHANT DUDE!!" Ruto's probably gonna have reduced boobs AND
clothes!!
WHelen358 Comments: Okay, so I go to your Zelda site, and see you're disappointed about the new
Zelda. Why? Think for a second: With graphics like that, we could have a lot
more in the game. Bigger, better dungeons, more weapons, great A.I., and a
vast, active Hyrule, filled with people and animals and other forms of life!
Sure, it's cartoony. But that's somewhat how Zelda was in the beginning
anyway. A young boy runs through an imaginary world to save a princess. I
don't think Nintendo will go so low as to make everything easy and kid-like,
even if they say so. I'm sure they'll come around and give us something
worthy of a Zelda title. Just stay calm, and wait. This may be a great idea.
And if it's not...then Nintendo and Miyamoto will realize this and go design
a better Zelda game that would be more appealing. That's all. So please,
consider this.
AARONisWCW Explains: I'm with you all the way on this. Just when Nintendo seems to be redeeming itself and coming out with a new system with 5 first party games, they stab us in the back and have two....they ruin the greatest franchise on any system to cater to kids....and they (like we didn't see this coming) delay the launch 2 more weeks. When will Nintendo learn that they can't treat customers this way? Maybe when they're forced to create games for x-box and PS2.
You have every right to be mad at this and I hope nintendo will here what everyone on the internet is saying and will take action to justify this.
Shawn Paul Smith Comments: If you don't already know, Nintendo released a demo of Zelda 128 for gamecube at spaceworld in Tokyo, and I am sorry and upset to tell you that they ruined it. It is all screwed up. THEY MADE IT A CARTOON?!?!! If you are anything like me your are seriously considering sending nasty emails for this atrocity. look at this crap?!?!
