LINK'S ITEMS

QUEST ITEMS

Bait Bag - Used to store bait items like All Purpose Bait and Hyoi Pears. You can get this right at the beginning of the game by purchasing it from Beedle's store/boat floating off the shore of Outset Island.

Bait - Used to lure Mermen from the water to add new islands to your main chart. If you see a fish jumping out of water, the viewing angle will automatically change near the fish, use the bait and he will add an island to your chart and give you a clue or hint. The bait can also be used for Pigs, both large and small. You can also use it to make the small rats stop attacking you and offer to sell something to you (same principle as a nasty deku scrub salesman).

Boat Sail - Link must have this in order for him to sail the seas. This one is easily purchased from Zunari on Windfall Island for 80 rupees. He's the guy in the town that looks like an eskimo.

Bombs - pretty self explanitory, but you use them to blow up stuff, but while on the boat if you select the bomb a cannon will appear and they become cannonballs and can be used to blow up obstructions or hit far away enemies.

Boomerang - One of my pesonal favorite of Link's weapons. The boomerang is more intuitive now in Wind Waker, and you'll find you use it more often than in Ocarina of Time. Kind of like the hookshot you'll see the red laser dot and if you find a target it will indicate it, and you can select up to 5 different targets, throw the boomerang and hit all those targets. You'll get the boomerang in the Forbidden Woods area near the Deku Tree island. The boomerang most often stuns enemies and works great against the electrical ChuChu enemy.

Cabana Deed - Miss Marie in Windfall gives this to Link. If you trade 20 Joy Pendants with her she will give you this item. Once you have this go to Private Oasis, and show it to the door and it will now be Link's Oasis.

Complimentary ID - When you get a letter from Beedle after purchasing 30 items from his store you'll get this item. Link earns silver membership to Beedle's shop, if you show it to Beedle you'll be complimented.

Deku Leaf - This is found in the Forest Haven where the Deku Tree is, you'll have to use the Deku Flowers to make it to the top of the Deku tree to reach it. It allows link to drift or glide through the air. It helps a lot when you're using this, if the wind is blowing in the direction you want to go, that way you'll go a lot farther. The Deku Leaf drains the Magic Meter though.

Delivery Bag - Link will be given this on Dragon Roost Island by Quill, his mailman. It basically holds all Link's slips of paper like Deeds, letters, ID's etc.

Empty Bottles (4) - Just like the Ocarina and Majora's Mask you have four bottles to carry goodies in. You can store potions, bugs, water, and fairies in these. You get one from Medli on Dragon Roost Island at the Cavern Entrance. One you can buy from Beedle's Store/Boat near Rock Spire Isle. Another is obtained as a reward for catching Mila trying to open Zunari's safe in Windfall Island. The last bottle is obtained as a prize for defeating the enemies on Submarine near Bomb Island.

Fill-Up Coupon - This is given to Link in a letter from Beedle. If you buy 60 things from Beedle's store he will get a Gold Membership and the Fill Up will allow Link to restore all his energy, magic, bombs, and arrows.

Forest Firefly - These are found in Forest Haven. You put it in a bottle and give it to Lenzo to make a Deluxe Pictograph Box.

Forest Water - This is only located in the Forest Haven, and is stored and transported in a bottle. It is used to restore the withered Deku Trees, but you have a 20 minute time limit to do this. This essentially is a side-quest.

Grappling Hook - You'll get this at Dragon Roost Island, inside the dungeon. It is used specifically for grappling onto hanging overhead poles, and Link can swing from it. If you want to stop the swinging hold down R and L at once, and then you can use the Analog stick to rotate and reposition Link and then start swinging again, there will be places in the game where you have to do this. I have also used it to steal items from enemies before they are defeated with the sword. On the boat, if you select the Grappling hook it turns into a crane and wench to bring up items under the water. You'll find that there are rings of bright light in the water that disappear when you get close, but these indicate that there is a treasure chest beneath the waves and you can use the grappling crane to bring it up.

Hero's Bow - This is obtained in The Tower of the Gods after Link uses the Pearls to make it rise from the ocean. Use the bow to hit enemies from very far away, and to hit switches or eye switches that are far away.

Hero's Charm - If Link collects up to 40 Joy Pendants and visits Miss Marie he will be given this. It allows the enemy's energy guage to appear on the screen, (A first for Zelda, I might add). To work it has to be equiped.

Hero's Shield - Link's Sheild, basically Hylian design. You just walk up to your grandmother's house and she gives it to you, on Outset Island. Pressing R makes the sheild come up and you can reflect things or use it to block.

Hero's Sword - The swordsman Orca on Link's Home Island gives Link this basic Sword.

Hookshot - Link will obtain this item inside the Wind Temple. Same as Ocarina of Time, basically just fire it at switches or to hit enemies or collect things that are far away, and grapple Link to a distant object.

Iron Boots - This are obtained on Ice Ring Isle. They seem to have more use in Wind Waker, and they give Link more wieght and he can pull things with the hookshoot and the boots combined that he can't normally do otherwise.

Letters - Letters are stored in Link's Delivery Bag, sometimes Link will need to deliver the letters to other characters.

Magic Armor - If you perform the trading sidequest at Windfall Island you'll get this item. This armor will drain the magic meter but it but it makes him invincible.

Master Sword - What would Zelda be without the Master Sword, link gets this at Hyrule Castle from a pedistal in a secret room. It's magical abilities to repel evil has withered over centuries, you must restore this capability but it can still be wielded as a sword in any condition.

Mirror Shield - This is an item obtained in the Earth Temple. It is larger than the Hero Shield, and can reflect beams of light or magic.

PictoBox - It takes pictures, and can be found from Tingle's jail cell on Windfall Island. a Deluxe Pictobox is given if you complete the game, or you can get this from Lenzo with a firefly.

Pirates Charm - Kind of replaces Navi, but doesn't usually bother you. It communicates messages from Tetra and The King of Red Lions/Hyrule.

Potions - Come in colors Red, Yellow, Green, Blue. These are stored in Empty bottles. Red restores energy, blue restores both energy and magic, yellow is like Lon Lon milk and can restore up to a limited amount of energy but can be taken twice. Green is for restoring magic. You can use the ChuChu jelly to have characters make the potions.

Power Bracelets - This is found at Fire mountain, it allows Link to lift large heavy stones.

Skull Hammer - Similar to previous hammers in Zelda games it can be used to pound down pegs, or hit enemies, you'll get this at the Foresaken Fortress, and use it to defeat the boss of this area.

Spoils Bag - stores various treasure items link obtains throughout his quest, he is given this by a pirate at the beginning of the game.

Telescope - This is given to Link at the beginning of the game by his sister, Arril. Use it to see things that are far away.

Tingle Tuner - Allows connection between the GameBoy Advance and the Nintendo GameCube. It allows a second player to perform various skills and discover hidden items.

Wind Waker - This is a baton given to Link at the beginning of the game by the King of Lions (his boat), and it allows Link to conduct various melodies of the wind. You'll use it most often to change wind directions to make sailing easier.
