Tribute was my group degree project at Caledonian University.
For reasons of time, resources and manpower it was decided
to do a side scrolling shooter. Since this is the type of game
me and Dave grew up with, we decided to do a tribute to a
somewhat at the time, dead genre.

To this end we incorporated powerups, colour cycling and lots of bullets.
Java was the chosen language due to all group members being familiar
with it and it was designed in UML using the incremental lifecycle model.
The end result was a side scrolling shooter (with parallax scrolling for the presentation)
with bosses, shields and smart bombs.

The final report was a staggering 700 pages!
Most good projects have a grade between 70 and 75%
so we were chuffed to get a grade of 84%!!
BTW yes, the game over screen is a tribute to the Videogame GrandMaster Jeff Minter.

Controls: arrow keys move, z fires and a is the smart bomb
Paste the font file into the Windows\fonts directory or it wont be found.
