Star WarsThis has nothing to do with Oriental Adventures and D&D. Nevertheless... Weapons
DOT (Detonate On Trigger) Weapons - DOT weapons are manufactured in the Waschi system, where pre-space lifeforms learned to pack explosive charges in small canisters for firing at large game. A DOT weapon fires such a projectile. The ammunition looks like a red, vaned cone. Upon impact, a DOT detonates, causing 2d8 damage on a direct hit, and 1d8 damage to all within 2 m. The differences between the various DOT weapons lies not in their ammunition - they each fire the same projectiles - but the velocity and hence the range at which they can launch their deadly darts. Only the repeating DOT can be used in autofire or rapid fire modes, however. A DOT pistol or heavy DOT can be reloaded as a move-equivalent action. A repeating DOT holds a battery of 8 projectiles. To load a projectile in to its magazine also takes a move-equivalent action, meaning that to replenish the entire clip requires 4 full-round actions. Each DOT weapon runs on a power pack, which can be used to fire 100 projectiles before its needs to be replaced. A single DOT projectile sells for 10 credits a piece and weighs 0.1 kg. A special bandolier or ammo belt for DOT projectiles exists, and allows a single projectile to be obtained as a free action (though loading takes the specified time; normally taking an object from your person requires a move-equivalent action). This belt can hold 16 projectiles if designed for a Medium-sized creature, or 8 if for a Small-sized lifeform. It sells for 120 credits. |
