Whereas there may be some of us who would wish the Welsh language to become another lingua franca of the United States, and the Eisteddfod to become as renowned and celebrated as the Super Bowl, this is probably an unrealistic goal. However, becoming a socially respected ethnic community, totally integrated into the modern world, yet maintaining strong links with the past, is not too tall an order. Whatever we can do to enrich our lives, and those of others, in appreciation of all things Welsh will not be wasted effort. |
