Consumer products
The consumer product market fluctuates with the economic market. The main strength is the way that the products are portrayed! Quality and fun are advertised to consumers. As new movies and shows are produced we see a constant internal movement for innovation and perfection. All divisions of Disney aim to have quality coupled with margins. The main factor however working for The Walt Disney Company is the �brand�. The name alone conjures up emotion to people. As Matt Ryan, Senior VP, states, �Kids have never consumed so much Disney�no-one has the consistent run that we�ve had.� This is a major strength of the company. With this steadiness we still have turmoil.

We have seen a decline in the number of The Disney Store openings and a general Increase in the number of closings of less profitable centers. This is a display of growing to fast for the market. (much like K-Mart did with there stores) Internally there has been agreement from top management to close these centers.

Also one of the more dangerous categories for a weakness the company has is the illicit use of sweatshops. Disney does not openly admit to the use of them but all of the supporting evidence is there.
