Dalian info page: Amia and Sa

Page originally prepared on 040306 for Anthony Watts

Fertility Collar, CDF bracelet.

Dalian carriers, also referred to less sensitively as breeders, and most accurately waeya-roh-eef-sala-koul-deh ("One (f.) who carries child") wear two pieces of equipment unique to them alone. The first item is defined by the GSO as:

Dalian Fertility Collar
[aw] Add one to the number displayed on the LCD
[v/] Change mode

Modes
I=Display/add to ova count in womb
II=Display/subtract from ova count in womb
III=Display ova count in ovaries
IV=Display progress on current embryoes (avg if multiples)
V=Display/add percentage of pregnancy bladder inflation
VI=Display/subtract percentage of pregnancy bladder inflation
VII=Off (no light)

The Dalian Fertility Collar has 10 visible features: two buttons, a small LCD, six LEDs, labeled, representing the present mode, and half of a chain-link, used as a hook for various objects, such as leashes during certain types of... "play" and things they just don't have enough limbs to hang on to.

The other apparatus which nearly all Dalian carriers have is a CDF bracelet. This is worn on the left arm. The one pictured is, specifically, an FACDF bracelet, the FA standing for the jurisdiction in which Dalians originated. CDF stands for "Child Delivery Facility", a common Dalian structure which contains many maternity wards and an extensive schooling system. Dalians born to carriers (as opposed to the less-likely, yet still quite possible, traditional human wedlock-type structure) are raised here for several years by caring professionals. Amia and Sa wear FACDF bracelets.

FACDF Bracelet
[.|,] & ['|`] Increase and decrease the relavant property
[clock] & [calendar] Display the time & date
[naemya - looks like infinity over upside-down T] Record the name of the wearer via the microphone
[!] Transmit panic message on CDF radio frequencies

Properties
I=Store the next X sperm.
II=Release X sperm from storage when [.|,] and ['|`] are pressed at once.
III=Eject X sperm from storage when [.|,] and ['|`] are pressed at once.
IV=Expansion; doesn't do anything right now.

CDF Bracelets have sixteen visible features on the top: the text "Waeya-roh-eef-sala-koul-deh-t-m" (just what the "t-m" means, we don't know...), the [!] panic button, four sets of up [.|,] and down ['|`] arrows, [clock], [calendar], [naemya], a speaker, a power LED, and a large LCD.

Sa and Amia, along with Miscellaneous Appearance Factoids

A quick detail of Sa and Amia.

The text overlaid onto the bodies at the top represents the approximate positioning of the text; in reality it is somewhat closer to centre.
Note that this text, and text like it, appears on all Dalians' clothing, which typically consists of a white jumpsuit (carriers have translucent-white and much more loose dresses) that unzips down to about the pelvis.

Facani Markings

All Dalian-like ("Dalioid") creatures have a darker shade of fur running down their backs. This changes in color depending on what specific type of Dalioid one actually is-- and there's a lot of them. But, we'll just focus on actual Dalians for now.

This fur which runs down the back varies in assorted interesting patterns which are inherited from the mother. Dalian carriers have their own, unique set, which is passed on to their children. Facani markings are used as a way of telling geographical origin amongst a mixed sample.

These will take a long time to load, but may serve as an interesting source for those looking to create their own Dalian characters.
