Lush verdure -
on a young locust pod
droplets

a hammock swings
under the rainbow

the crystal vase
scattering sunbeams
round the room

twins compare pictures
of their husbands

* * *

the harvest in,
a silence falls
on moonlit fields

sweethearts sigh
under a leafless willow

in morning class
we sneeze
but you avoid my eyes

a damselfly lands
on her fragrant nape

the troops return,
their boots
somehow heavier

in the new house
learning new sounds

* * *

hard to talk
with a dozen diamonds
in my mouth

vision of snow
and a Siberian moon

what station is this?
tank-cars with black oil,
both sides...

grandma puts her dress on
inside out

perfume has gone
but your kiss still pulses
on my wrist

despite the smiles
the pillow damp tonight

* * *

mirrored
in a Venetian canal
a chipped façade

first spring gust
my tooth begins to ache

the cat's back
after her spree
covered in cherry petals

traffic hum drowned
in the frog chorus
