Ogre Battle is full of blood thirsty beasts, many of whom are your allies! Characters with high Alignment are holy, and those with low Alignment are evil. These characters can inflict much damage on each other. Some characters require a special Item in order to change class.
LEAD?: Which characters can or cannot lead.
SIZE: Characters can be large or small.
FRONT/BACK: Shows how many times it can attack at once.
S/A: It attacks asingle enemy or all of them.
LEVEL: Level needed to advance to the next class.
ALI: Alignment needed to advance to the next class.
CHA: Charisma needed to advance to the next class.
SPECIAL ITEM: Special Item needed to advance to the next class.

This list shows how the different character classes you can control can change into one another. If you don't like the way a character is developing, you can often back up. For instance, a Valkyrie can degrade to an Amazon, then upgrade to a Cleric, Princess or Witch, so long as the requirements are met. This is not normally a problem, but remember that characters develop their alignments quite differently, so demoting a high alignment character, to upgrade him/her into a low alignment character won't work.
