Dedication Service for the Grave Marker of Revolutionary War Patriot

Hupp- Hoskinson Cemetery
Franklin Twp.
Licking County, Ohio

It was an honor to be in attendance at Hupp-Hoskinson Cemetery, on November 14, 2010 at the dedication service honoring Isaiah Hoskinson's new military tombstone marker. This was one of the nicest services I've seen in some time. The quiet little cemetery nestled on a secluded, wooded hillside in Franklin Twp., Licking Co., Ohio, became a beehive of activity Sunday afternoon. This land is situated on the farm owned by Mr. & Mrs. Franklin Ice, not far from Linnville, Ohio. The service was planned & organized by Liz Bicking, Ada Gutridge and other family members. In attendance were members of both Hocking Valley Chapter SAR and Elizabeth Sherman Reese Chapter of DAR, many descendants, genealogical society members, members of the community and friends. The ceremony (outlined in list below), included many wonderful speeches, placing of wreaths, music, songs and prayer, honoring this Revolutionary War Veteran, for his heroic effort to give us the freedoms we enjoy this day. His original sandstone marker, had deteriorated into unreadable fragments and this day replaced with a new military marker.

Here are some photos I took during the dedication. Want to thank again the family of this Patriot for allowing me to witness and take part in this very moving and dignified event, honoring Isaiah Hoskinson for his service to our country.
