CACTUS KID

#26 "CACTUS KID" A B-24J-CO-185 Serial Number 44-4085? of the 9th Bombardment Squadron sports sillouhettes indicating 13 trips across "The Hump", 47 bombing missions, and one Japanese aircraft destroyed. Squadrons of the 7th Bombardment Group used camels to signify a "Hump" crossing, while those of the 14th Air Force's 308th Bombardment Group used mountains. Note that the art work partially overpaints the aircraft I.D. stencil, making positive identification of the A/C serial number all but impossible. (Courtesy Michael Bronson)
