Emily Symons as Marilyn Fisher (nee Chambers)

Marilyn Fisher (nee Chambers) is an attractive, kind and talkative woman.

Marilyn Chambers had a problematic childhood. She was orphaned in her pre-teens, her relatives did not care for her, but Donald Fisher helped her with an education in her young years.

Marilyn ran the beauty parlour in Summer Bay, Australia. She was always listening to the talk of the local women in Summer Bay, and she had a very good and natural ability to talk with anyone about anything giving her comments and advices.

After some relationships with different men, Marilyn got married to Donald Fisher. Happily settled in her marriage with Donald Fisher, Marilyn became pregnant, but her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage.

She became pregnant again. Marilyn gave birth to baby Byron, but she experienced the birth as a trauma, because she was not prepared for the birth, which was by caesarian section, and Donald Fisher was not present when his son was born. At home Marilyn did not cope with being a mother. She felt like a failure because she could not love her son in the way she felt she as a mother should love him. She suffered from post natal-depression. For some motns. Marilyn left Donald Fisher without leaving traces.

When she returned home, she found a housekeeper named Ellen Porter, and she felt she was an unfit mother when she compared herself to Ellen. Marilyn had become suspicious of Fisher's favouritism towards Ellen and became jealous. Donald Fisher admitted he was not sure whether he loved her or not. But Donald Fisher and Marilyn have sorted things out.

Baby Byron was diagnosed with cancer. Marilyn and Fisher disputed over where to care for baby Byron. She left for the USA with baby Byron.

After baby Byron's death, Marilyn disappeared and never returned. She wrote to Donald Fisher saying that she is not returning.
