There are a number of court record involving Nicholas in 1755 in Caroline Co., VA: 15 Aug Nicholas, John Thornton, Fielding Lewis, and Robert Jackson, were appointed to settle an account of the guardianship of Miss May and Miss Catherine BATAILLE with guardian and make a report; 1 4aug Nicholas and other appointed to view and lay off a road from the county road to the river oppsite Donaphan's Ferry, and report to the next court; 14 aug Nicholas paid 465 pounds of tobacco to settle a debt to the estate of Thomas Getting; 13 Nov Nicholas and others divided the estate of james Stevens according to the will; 11 Dec Nicholas aded to former order for dividing estate of Benjamin Aylett; and 11 Dec he was co-executor for the will of William Woodford.
