Lion Dance
Lion Dancing is traditionally associated with kung fu schools. The Lion Dance is commonly seen at Chinese New Year celebrations, but is also seen at many other events throughout the year. The Lion Dance brings good luck. Each papier-mache & silk lion is animated by two performers accompanied by drums, gongs and cymbals. Depending on the type of Lion Dance, there may be more performers and increased complexity in the movements. As part of their martial arts training, LHCMAI students learn and are encouraged to participate in Lion Dance performances.
