Loni and Ianuth's Weyrling Page
"Isn't she just something else?" Loni said, of her green. L'ren beside her chuckled.

"She's about as else as my Keath, sister. Ready to fly?"

"I am," Loni said. How about you?

I am as ready as I will ever be! My wings are strong, and I know I can carry you. I still have growing to do, but I am very strong already!

"Then let's go!" Loni announced, and put on her helmet. L'ren had done the same and was already halfway onto Keath's shoulder.

The pair of siblings and their clutchmate dragons walked out to the weyrling's launching ground, a nice flat area that was mostly sand and had few sharp rocks or large trees on it -- just in case a weyrling fell, they wouldn't be too hurt.

Loni's dragon was the first to start beating her wings. The power under them! Such grace! The dragon flapped only a couple times before she realized she was actually in the air! They flew a bit, but soon Ianuth tired.

I am so sorry I cannot keep it up yet!

"Don't apologize, Ian!" Loni breathed, with a gasp and a broad smile, "that was marvelous! It was just great!"

Look at Keath! Look at him! He's doing it so much better than I did!

"He is a good flier, Ianuth, but you'll be good too! We must practice and you will learn."

Loni watched her brother and his blue fly into the air, whoosh by them, and actually turn -- she had only asked Ianuth to fly straight along, just in case. L'ren seemed born to the air, on Keath.

"Jealous?" He yelled from the blue's back.

"No, just proud!"
