Delta Goodrem returns with the second single from her album of the same name. 'Mistaken Identity' the single, was Delta's first single to miss the top 5 reaching a peak of #7. This was also the first single since Born To Try back in 2002 to not go to number one.
Mistaken Identity was up against tough competition in the charts, such as Nitty, Nelly & The Lazy Boy. Sales during January were very slow and no one had sold more than 35000 copies during the first two weeks Mistaken Identity was released.
Other reasons why Mistaken Identity underperformed could be the fact that the track was too Tori Amos that her younger fans might not have clicked with or that the song was too personal for anyone to relate too. Whatever the reason, we doubt that this single is going to hinder any future success.
