Lawren Stewart Harris (1885 - 1970)
    

Born on October 23rd, 1885 in Brantford, Ontario. Travels to Berlin to study art in 1904-07. The first Group of Seven exhibition is held at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 1920. Elected first President of the Canadian Group of Painters in 1933. A Solo retrospective exhibition at the Toronto Art Gallery is given to Harris in 1948. Dies on January 29th, 1970 in Vancouver, BC.
