An Introduction
Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Jerry Lehr and on places like doomworld and other gaming sites (and steam) I go by dybbuk81. The primary purpose of this website is to display my musical creations, but I also stress my love for older classic dos and early generation console games.
Perhaps the largest sub-page that took the most work is the classic doom megasite. Doom has been my #1 go-to game for decades. There were easily a million levels since the early 90s so far that have been made for this masterpiece, and people aren't stopping. Just the sheer amount of references, awards, and still recognition on gaming publications for news that still goes on in the community should show its impact on video games in its time. It's STILL fun.
Though I myself don't have any noteworthy wads/mods, I'm getting back into it so should soon I hope. Most importantly on this website in regards to music and doom is my little catapult into the gaming industry myself. John Romero and John Carmack made doom. Its a known fact they were the main masterminds behind its creation. John Romero went off to start his own company, Romero Games. Recently, sometime in 2022 I believe, he released OUR game, the only game he ever released that he had absolutely nothing to do with.
I cannot take much credit for this game other than show off my five hour soundtrack for it, but the creator began conceiving this game at age 16 and finished at 19. He was probably like 1-2 when wolfenstein 3D and doom came out. He was a young genius guy that also finished high school with A's and held a job all at the same time of making a little gem called Project Warlock. For more information on that and the soundtrack, see the project warlock ost section on the "My Own Music" menu.
Hobbies? this. Making music, web design, and playing and making stuff for DOOM. I watch a little TV, rarely, and I listen to a lot of music on my 40 minute daily commute towards work and my 40 minute daily commute back from work. I also drive around with my wife doing the same thing, music listening. Her nickname is Bee and she does some pretty fine artwork.
Feel free to look around, as I have a lot to look at and a lot that I am interested in and more to come of course.
My favorite movie genres are horror, comedy, and science fiction. I don't really read books unless I'm learning something valueable and non-fiction, usually having to do with music or computers/software. Otherwise I'll just watch the movie if its fiction. I cannot keep focused on one thing for very long, so reading a book basically puts me to sleep. I'm sure there's a lot I'm missing out on in that department.
So if you're ready to look around, check out all the things I've shared or am interested in on the left menu! Please sign the guestbook or leave a message on the cbox if you like what you've witnessed, or shoot me an email and we'll swap links or I'll answer any questions you may have.
