Cowboy Cookies

Description: Some call them farm cookies, grannys everything in cookies... We call them Cowboy cookies. My husband a former bull rider can go through six dozen without thinking about it.. LOL Hence Cowboy cookies.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup shortening or 1 cup lard
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup chocolate chips
• 2 cups old fashioned oats
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

1. Cream shortening and sugars.
2. Add eggs and beat well.
3. Add vanilla.
4. Sift soda, powder and add to creamed mixture.
5. Add chips , oats, and nuts.
6. Dough will be rather thick.
7. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.
8. Bake 12 minutes at 375*.
9. These freeze well.
