Description: My Mom calls this "the recipe on the door" because that's where she kept it. She said it came from a magazine in the 70s. My Fancy Franks turn out a little different each time because I like to try variations. It's a family favorite and a complete "kid" recipe (although I still love it). You may find you want to add a touch more tomato sauce. I also like to throw in a few fresh tomatoes.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
8 hot dogs, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
14 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
12 -16 ounces pasta
2 cups cheddar cheese
Steps:
Cook pasta as directed on package.
In a separate pan, saute the onion, garlic, bell pepper and hot dogs in oil until onions are translucent.
