The Kindergarten Snooze
March 2003
Dear Friends,

I hope that everyone had a safe and fun-filled holiday. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to visit with my friends and family!

It is almost spring time! I hope that the cold weather is finally over!

This spring we will be learning about Farm Animals. This is a wonderful opportunity to read and dramatize more fairy tales. We will begin our unit with "Plenty of Pigs", starting off with "The Three Little Pigs". We will then become "Crazy for Cows", as we learn about dairy products and milk. Our "Horray for Hens" mini-unit will be an opportunity for us to read "The Little Red Hen". This fairy tale stresses the importance of helping others. We will also have an opportunity to make bread with a bread maker and to make butter from cream. We will finish the unit with "Down on the Farm". This will give the children an opportunity to talk about the differences between the city and the country, baby animals and machines that are used on a farm.
