Vangelis has always had a unique style of musical composition. No other composer I know writes music the same way he does. Undoubtedly, one of the most famous movie themes to come from a non-John Williams soundtrack would have to be Vangelis's Main Titles from Chariots of Fire. So strong was this one track, that it propelled the soundtrack to the top of the charts back in 1981. And indeed, the Main Titles are probably one of the best reasons to get this soundtrack. Like the theme from Rocky, the main theme from Chariots of Fire is one that invigourates and excites. Lately, one of the local radio stations has been playing this theme on a more frequent basis. Apparently someone out there really loves it. In case you haven't heard it, you need only look to any of the old olympics reels or highlights shows. It is probably one of the most frequently used Olympic themes out there As for the rest of the score, it isn't as great as the first track, but thanks to the unique sound of Vangelis, this music isn't boring.
