In most cases, a movie is made even better with a good soundtrack. In the case of Speed, the movie is what made the soundtrack better. Mark Mancina showed promise in the very beginning of the soundtrack by introducing a strong theme that he decided to carry throughout the movie, using mainly synthesizers. This was a big mistake, as a result, almost everytime the theme is heard, it ends up sounding the same and there is no real sense of progress in the music. There is no change in mood or tone. Okay, okay, maybe I'm being a little too harsh, but listen to the thing for yourself and you'll see what I mean.

I originally bought the soundtrack after my third time seeing the movie and I thought that it would be just as good. But believe me, having the movie playing and the soundtrack in the background makes a world of difference. Luckily I got this soundtrack at a pretty cheap price and so I'm not really suffering from any major buyer's remorse but I don't really reccommend this one to anyone unless I really dislike you.
