| born/raised: humboldt county, california birth date: july 25, 1976 *vocalist, also plays guitar, bass, piano, drums other: Since Jon grew up in such a small town and wasn't very popular in school, he turned to music at a young age, learning many various instruments. His guitar skills landed him an article in Guitar Player Magazine at the age of 13, and by age 17, he had dropped out of school (to be homeschooled) and started VAST. He also began putting out demo tapes, and eventually got signed by Elektra at 20 years old. Two years later, in 1998, he released his debut album titled Visual Audio Sensory Theatre.
