Conclusion: Last Words?
What happened to the Childer of Set? They were the Kindred forming the majority of the Enneade, the Egyptian assembly of Gods. Of the other Kindred gods, only Amon of the Lasombra is known to have escaped the God Purge. Bastet was Diablerized. Ptah, the immortal Mage, was supposedly killed. Of the Childer of Set, Sechat and Wadjet were, too, destroyed by Set's other Childer, if not by Set himself.
Nefertiti, Neferu and Keminitiri, and some others followed Set into the Wyrm Caern, and became fully corrupted, as he had become. Only one, Hathor, fled in shame and was never seen after. When the surviving childer of Set emerged from the Wyrm Caern, they became the Followers of Set.
The Followers dealt now in Darkness, and the sun became their absolute enemy. They lost their resistance, becoming a darkness. And now, instead of inspiring divine fear to the mortals, they would work in the shadows.
Presence and Obfuscate remained the same, as it helped influence the mortals, through not necessarily through the mean of fear and awe, and as it helped the Followers to hide in the shadows of humanity's corruption.
The Childer of Set are for the Kindred what the White Howlers are for the Garou. A Bloodline with a pure aim who became corrupted through its own weaknesses (over-confidence, as the Childer believed they could tame the Beast and reach Maat, taking with them a whole nation, and as the Howlers believed they could battle directly the Wyrm).
The difference is that the Garou know the Black Spiral Dancers for what they are, while the Kindred has still to understand the Sabbat/Camarilla, as well as the Assamite or the Ravnos are but children when compared to the Followers of Set, who want nothing more than blot the sun out of the sky... And who could well succeed one night...
While not exactly a Clanbook, this work was created as a basis for the Chronicle: Uræus, Gods of Egypt. I hope you'll like it.
