A new single 'Ginga no Chikai' has reached us from MAX, who, while giving power to their fans, absorbed their fans power in their half a year long national tour, and who are gradually becoming stronger. As their tour end they take a new step forward with this song
'I have a feeling that the singing range of this song is wider than our other songs too. The recording passed without incident, but I think we'll be able to see different things each time we sing it. This may be a song that we bring up from here on.' (MINA)
It seems as though they will need a different approach on many levels. But the four girl's eyes stare unhesitantly ahead. They've all said that in dance and in singing, they want to betray their listener's image of them, in a good way. They seem to hold a secret desire in regard to the last half of this year.
'We've all been saying that we want to release a Christmas song in winter, and we're in the middle of making our appeal.(laugh).' (REINA)
'We've had songs that fit the season on our albums, but we've never released one as a single, so we'd love to do that.' (MINA)

MAX ended their longs tour yet in a huge sucess at the three day finale the Budokan on Aug.16, 18 and 19. But without even a breath in between, they start a new beginning for the last half of this year with the release of their new single 'Ginga no Chikai' on Aug. 25. First please give me your feelings and impressions of your tour.
'The thing that I felt most at this tour is the the number of girl [fans] has increased. That made me really happy. The girls cheers felt really good.Because I feel like I've become a strong, good person.' (MINA)
'The age group has widened a lot, and there were married couples and people bringing their children. I was so happy. When I found people older than our own parents, it made me feel as if we were being protected or something.' (REINA)
'You could tell that the audiance came to have fun. They had an amazing energy.And that made us feel like we had to do our best to have fun and not lose to the audiance.' (NANA)
'I thought once again 'I'm happiest when I'm doing a concert.'(LINA)
Just watching their vivid expressions as they talk, I become cheerful as well.In the midst of that fufilling tour, they recorded 'Ginga no Chikai'.It must have been difficult controlling their physical condition, but the engine power that revolved over and over at their concerts seeped into their new song as well. It's a song that leaves an impression, with distortion guitars and four bass drums, overflowing with a sprinting feeling.
'When I first heard it, I felt as if I were in a far away place.' (LINA)
'It had a difficulty we hadn't had before. I didn't know where I should take my feelings to.' (MINA)
'The world seems too wide, and I had a hard time grasping the image. And they words may not be really MAX-like. I also worried a lot about the dance.'(REINA)
'But some how the melody has a familiar feeling and is easy to remember. Our task now is to as the dance, and see how MAX-like we can make it.' (NANA)
Not only the majestic world view which makes you see scenes from a Space movie, but all the title 'Ginga no Chikai' is unlike the MAX of before.
'We only found it out after the title had been decided. (laugh) We had always been thinking it was 'AQUARIUS'. And when we saw they Promotion tape on the desk, we said 'Huh, what's that?'(laugh)' (REINA)
