MAX's concert tour started on 5/4 at the Chiba Makihari MESSE. The audience was
standing out of their seats form the opening on! They were dancing and singing as if it
was a night club....it was a very exciting concert from beginning to end.
The title, 'No boundly' means 'No walls', and 'No one can stop us.' Lina thought it up.
Just as the title says, MAX's is running forward without stopping, showing us many new
things they never have before. They also gave their first performance of their new single
'MAGIC', released on 5/24 at this concert.
This year they will go to 10 places all over the country, and perform 17 times in an arena
tour. Please look forward to it!
Your make-up is bright and showy as a parakeet...(laugh)
NANA: Right. I guess it is parakeet make-up. (laugh) To tell you the truth, we wanted to
get an 8o's flavor. For our previous concerts our costumes and make up has been chic,
with cool colors and things, but this time we've made our costumes and our make up
colorful, and used a lot of color. The image we went for is gaudy and flashy and 80's.
What made you decide on the 80's?
NANA: Well it's in fashion now, and we ourselves are also really into it now. (laugh)
Our staff taught us a lot of different things as well. For example, our opening costumes
are cool and feminine, and have an image of fighting sexily. We're also charmed by a
'Playgirl' kind of image.
Do you think of the dances yourselves?
MINA: Well, really our instructor does our choreography, but she took our advice when
we said 'We'd like to do something like this', or 'We want this dance to have this kind of
feeling to it.'
What points did you focus on during the organization?
NANA: We all brain stormed together about things like the opening scene, and the set,
and I think that in the end, everything is exactly how we wanted it. And what we wanted
to do for costumes and changing was also really taken into account.
What was something that you had difficulty with?
MINA: The shoes. (laugh) At rehearsal we danced in sneakers, and when we began
dancing in heels, and they weren't very compatible with the floor. At first we had pretty
high heels, but we said we can't dance on this stage with these. (laugh) We changed the
shoes about three times, and we got ones that worked just in time.
REINA: Also the song list. Last year it took us eight hours, and this year we wanted to try
not to go over that, but it ended up taking twelve hours. That was pretty difficult.
How did you decide on the list ?
NANA: This time we're focusing on our singles, and if we could we wanted to arrange
them as much as we could in a way so that the flow wouldn't be interrupted. I think that
it's a song list that will let our waves and the waves of the audience flow together. We
took songs out thinking they brought everything down, and came up with songs we hadn't
even thought of before, and put them in in the middle of rehearsal.... I guess it's our
natural flow. Also, the way things were presented. 'We showed this kind of MAX for this
song originally, so this time let's so a different kind of MAX.' That kind of thing.
You're to be the main event at the Summit pre-event....
MINA: We're really happy that they're having that kind of even in Okinawa, and that we
can appear in it. And to be chosen for the main event of that....it's a big honor, so we're
really enthusiastic about it.
Lastly, please give your fans a message.
NANA: Concerts are our treasures, and they're the place where we are most comfortable,
and where we shine the brightest. We'll have a really fun concert, so please look forward
to it.
