MAX have just released their new single, ‘Barairo no hibi’.
MINA: This is a kind of song, and a feeling and a dance that we haven’t had before. I think you can see another new side of MAX with this song.
Their latest single is a cover of a song by the that super group attracting popularity worldwide, the Backstreet Boys. At first the members say, they were very unsure of it, unable to get the song to fit with their own image.
REINA: Since it was a song with male vocals, I thought that we wouldn’t be able to carry it well, but once we started recording, we just went smoothly with the energy of the song. I was suprised. Since we’d just finished our tour, everyone’s voices were a bit rough, and stuff, but that actually fit the song really well, so....I’m glad. (laugh)
The rugged and hard sound has a mannish image they havent had before, but they make up for it, showing their ‘femininity’ in the dance.
LINA: The image for it is ‘funky and sexy’. I think that within the coolness, a feminine air comes out. And it’s been a while that the 4 of us have danced all together in a line for a single.
NANA: Right. Lately we’ve had a lot of...I guess you could call it free style, where we all danced separately. But this time the 4 of us a are all together, it looks really striking, so please look out for it.
MINA: Also, there are cheers in the back at one point, and actually, they are the cheers of everyone who came to MAX’s concert. With things like that, I thing that this is a song that you can enjoy fully, watching, and listening to it.
Also it seems that they are releasing their live video close on the heels of this new single. Perhaps to the members of MAX, living days of fufillment, even as they are so busy, are their ‘Rose colored days’.
