My career at National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai.

Geophysical Data Acquisition, Processing and Interpretation.

Some of the tasks performed are displayed here

Seabed or Sub-Seabed Mapping

Seabed engineering and oceanographic studies were carried out to delineate the information regarding seabed morphology, seabed and sub-seabed geology etc. after the collection and subsequent analysis of bathymetry, sub-bottom profiling and Sidescan data.  These form a part of the feasibility study for the construction of Ports, Jetty-structures, SPM and LFP locations etc.  Seabed mapping forms an integral part of pre- and post-dredging activities in port and harbours.

Pipeline Monitoring

Pre-lay and post-lay pipeline surveys were conducted off Dahej during October 2004.  The surveys consisted of Parametric sounding to find out the extent of pipe burial with respect to the seabed. Side scan sonar imaging was carried out to strengthen the Parametric Sounding results.
