Shifu Hong Moon Tak was born in Korea in 1948.
Around 1964 shifu Hong Moon Tak was in high school and had a throat ailment from playing the trumpet. Shifu Kim Shih Wan introduced him to shifu Lin Pin Jang to be cured.
That was how shifu Hong Moon Tak began studying praying mantis and ship pal ki (18 techniques and weapons) systems. Years later shifu Hong Moon Tak became one of shifu Lin Pin Jang's most famous disciples in Korea.
In the early 1980's shifu Hong Moon Tak was an influential member of the largest kung fu association in Korea, "The Korean Kung Fu Association Inc", and he sent the first Korean team to Taiwan to compete in the World Wushu Championship.
In 1984 was appointed to the position of vice president for the World Kuoshu Assn. He trains the Korean national team that takes part on the world Koushu championships.
