Born in 1955, he is also known by his Chinese name Yang Song Feng.
Student of shifu Choy Chae Gyn (Mei Hua Tang Lang) in Germany.
Shifu Gerhard Milbrat's training with this master made possible for him learn in Korea from 1985 under shifu Sun Shi Kang (Mei Hua Tang Lang and Tai Ji Mei Hua Tang Lang).
Shifu Sun Shi Kang accepted Gerhart Milbrat as a master/student in 1987 and after 2 years of instructor/training allowed him to teach in Germany.
He returned to Germany in 1989 and founded the institute for Chinese Healing and Martial Arts in L�dinghausen, Germany, where he is teaching.
Shifu Gerhard Milbrat traveled to China and trained under shifu Qu Ji Jun (Tai Ji Mei Hua Tang Lang). Since 1997 he is adviser to the Hao Jia Men Taiji Mei Hua Tang Lang - Research Society in Yantai/China.
He is currently studying under Shifu Zhang Wan Fu (Tai Ji Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan and sword fighting).
Shifu Gerhard Milbrat also trains Chen Tai Ji Quan (graduated as master by shifu Chen Xiao Wang). He also is a freelance writer and journalist for leading German Martial Arts magazines.
