Silk Stalkings Fan Club Newsletter Interview with Monika Schnarre

Monika Schnarre was born May 27, 1971 in Scarborough, Ontario Canada. She has one brother, a sister and her mother. Monika enjoys all sports, including blading, hiking, and skiing; and in her spare time, she enjoys working on her cabin. When I first asked Monika to describe herself, she replied "tall, tall, tall" but later changed her answer to "Kind, Honest and Vivacious."

Monika’s previous work includes roles on The Bold and the Beautiful and Beverly Hills, 90210 (as a transvestite man!), and roles in feature films such as "Junior" and "Peacekeeper" (with Dolph Lundgren and Roy Scheider). However, Monika is most famous for her supermodel status--in fact, she even has her own web page! (http://www.supermodel.com/monikaschnarre/) But with all this work, Monika stated, "Honestly, this has been one of the nicest sets to work on. John is the sweetest!"

When I asked Monika if she had always wanted to act, she replied, "Yeah--as long as I can remember. I modeled for 10 years with the Ford Agency and then started." Her future career goals are to have her own TV show—”a TV show that I’m proud of—that people actually see, with great writers, like ER and NYPD Blue.”

Monika says that there are no similarities between her character, Kristin, and her-self, stating, “She’s evil...I hope I’m not!” Throughout her interview, Chris Potter was picking on Monika. So the answers to her final questions were influenced a bit.

When I asked what it was like working with Chris and Janet, Monika replied, “Janet’s nice—we had a lot of girl talk. Chris was nice, initially. But, he’s Cana-dian, so he’s acceptable...He was once a good little Canadian boy, I’m sure.”

Monika described the process of filming her Silk episode as “quite smooth— more so than others. It was more laid back and relaxed than others. John gave us the freedom to express our ideas—that was nice.”

Finally, I asked Monika if anything bizarre or humorous had happened on the set—she simply replied, “Chris’ clothing!”
