The Monkees show was about four young boys who had started a band and it was about their life and the wierd things that happened to them. Pure fiction, pure comedy and an instant hit with the teenage girls. (especially me) There was Mike (played by Mike Nesmith), Davy (played by Davy Jones), Peter (played by Peter Tork) and my favorite Micky (played by Micky Dolenz).

The really weird thing was the audience wasn't happy just watching them pretend to be a Band, they wanted them to be a Band. So, they started touring as The Monkees (the band ). They came to Charlotte in 1967 and because I was only 13 years old at the time, I didn't get to go see them. (Strict father) But they did a return concert in Charlotte in 1997 and I was only 10 rows back and loved each and every minute of the show.
