| ~back to reviews~ HIM gig in Kuopio, Finland 10.4.2002 (by Maiju) In the Wednesday morning I & Maija leave our house somewhere 8.30 am and then we walked to bus station. We went by bus to Kuopio and I have to say that it was terrible to go by bus cause I have that so much but of course it didn�t matter. I was so damn excited already then and speaking about upcoming gig, Maija was a bit of excited too. When we got to Kuopio, we went to different shops and somewhere close to 12 am we went to look is there many people outside �Puijonsarvi� (the place where gig was going to be in the evening) and we were pretty surprised cause there was already 4 girls or so. I became a bit of scared cause I thought we wouldn�t get nice places in the evening. We went to look that hotel �Puijonsarvi� too cause it�s in the same building as the nightclub/bar where that gig was going to be. Right front of that hotel was some strange bus and of course we thought it might be HIM�s tour bus. We looked inside that bus and there was some beer bottle, more we couldn�t see cause there was curtains in windows (of course). I didn�t take any photos then of that bus but later we came back and the bus was gone, well of course I thought it must be in backside of that hotel where other cars are. And yes, it was there. I took few photos of it but them are taken quite far away cause there was some men doing some things when I took those photos so I couldn�t go closer cause I didn�t know what they would do /say to me. Finally somewhere 15pm we went to Miia�s & Jarsi�s place and Miia made us dinner and it was a bit of surprising that we even ate pretty much! Actually I was happy that I was at least a bit of hungry cause I knew that it would be really hard evening coming. I was completely nervous when clock was 16pm or so and then we dressed and made us ready for that gig. A little bit before 17pm we were again inside Puijonsarvi and at this time there were something like 20 girls before us. At first we sat for a while and then Maija got up and stood. Some minutes after that she said � Maiju, Maiju ! Viltsu is there!!!� I was like � What? Where ? Where? � And then Maija showed to me that Viltsu was walking something like 20 meters away from us or so. But of course he was too far away and we already were waiting sometime outside Puijonsarvi so we didn�t want to lose our places. I was a bit of pissed off cause I didn�t react as fast as I could�. I didn�t get a change to take photos� but after that I stood up and took my camera inside my handbag and I was really ready for seeing Ville again�. I & Maija looked so deeply to that place where we saw Ville walking and then I looked away� and of course Maija started �Maiju Ville is there!!!� And once again I couldn�t react as fast as I would like to! But I saw Ville!!!! Twice: DDDD I put my camera away but of course it was mistake cause a while after Ville went back to hotel Maija said �Maiju the all others are there!� and when I looked again to that place, I saw Burton & Mige. I was so happy cause I saw them, even I didn�t manage to make photos. When clock was already 19 pm I became so nervous & excited. Those first 2 hours waiting wasn�t anything but when it was only one hour for doors opening it felt like clock would stopped! Other people got nervous too. Finally some man came and opened the door and let 5 people to go in. When Maija & I got in and take off our jackets we ran to the stage and I just couldn�t believe that there was still space in the first row! So of course we stayed there, I was so happy about that cause I was always dreamed to get a change to be in first row. In that point my legs were hurting so much cause of standing but it didn�t matter!!! After waiting something like 1 hour some men came to the stage and made some things ready for HIM�s supporting band The Skreppers. Finally The Skreppes came to the stage and I had to laugh cause they were so funny! Singer of Skreppers wore some Leather- costume and also women�s shoes: D He was so funny! I & Maija were dancing and smiling so much. And the best thing we realised was that the bass player was only 1 meter away from us! (That meant Mige would be at the same place!!!) And Ville would be in the same place as Skrepper�s singer and it was so close to our places too! I was so happy about that. I have to admit that I didn�t like Skreppers music much but they were funny: D Bass player gave Maija that thing which you play bass (and guitar too) I think it�s called something like plectrum (Plektra in Finnish or so) There was logo of The Skreppers on that plectrum. Maija was so happy and of course I was happy cause of Maija. The Skreppes played quite little time and then they left the stage and some men started to make things ready for HIM!!!!! I was sooooooooooooooo excited and I also felt a bit of bad cause of course everyone was pushing me! But I didn�t care about that! I was going to see HIM and I was in first row! What would be better?! Suddenly everyone started to yell & clap their hands and then, then I saw my Gods!!!! I saw everyone so well, Especially Mige & Ville! And Ville was more then beautiful I really didn�t believe that he was even more beautiful than in pics! Ville was wearing black, woolen cap, stonewashed jeans, black jacket where was small grey stripes (it was pretty old jacket cause I have seen it in some really old pics� like from 98 or so.), black vest where was also those grey stripes and under that vest he was wearing some grey/ black t-shirt and of course he was wearing black skateboarding shoes. He had much eyeliner and he was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty & amazing. Everything!!! I just love that man, now even more! Mige was wearing jeans & hellraiser t-shirt. I�m not sure but I really think there was Croatian flag (sticker) on his bass ;) Linde was wearing also jeans and that Nepal shirt. I became a bit of worried cause he was so thin! Oh yes he was, Ville was thin of course but Linde was more than thin. Linde was playing with red guitar where was probably Clint Eastwood stickers (that actor) and Linde also played with that guitar which looks like there would be 2 guitars in one. He played with that for example In Joy And Sorrow. Burton was wearing some colourful t-shirt (orange,yellow�That kind of �Hawaii� styled :D ) and yes, of course he was wearing cowboy hat :D he was also wearing jeans. Gas was wearing black, t-shirt with a text � I love Satan� There was a heart not �love� printed there and of course he was wearing black pants ;D They started with Stimata Diaboli and after that came Heartache Every Moment & Your sweet 666. I�m really not sure which songs they played next (me and my BAD memory) but here�s all songs they played: 1. Stigmata Diaboli 2. Heartache Every Moment 3. Your Sweet 666 4. Poison Girl 5. When Love And Death Embrace So they really played many songs and the gig lasted almost 2 hours or so :D It was just amazing. Ville was joking & smiling & shaking ass :DDD a lot! He said many times �Kiitoksia� (Thanks!!!!) and smiled after we clapped our hands and after we sang some songs, like chorus of Right Here In My Arms �She�ll be right here in my arms so in loveeeeeeee, she�ll be right here in these arms she can�t let gooooooooooooo� When some girls screamed to him �Ville s� oot ihanaaaaaaaa� ( Ville you are so lovely) he said � What I can�t understand what you are saying� :DDD hehe. He was also speaking about that when they were in Kuopio few years ago and some young girls came to him and gave to him that kind of petition where was over 2000 names written under that �HIM should make gigs without no age-limits too� Ville was remembering that and that�s why they made now also gigs without no age-limits :D Hehe, he also said something like �You can�t see here any boobies & dicks but you should be in one bar where�s Erotic night�but oh, the age-limit over there is K-18� oh and this gig is K-12 :DDDD heheee. I laughed so much! He was saying that cause some girls were screaming something like �Take your shirt off Ville� ;P And he was also introducing band members with their own names like �our bass player Mikko Julius Paananen� ;) Everyone were pushing me and Maija did leave the first row quite early in HIM gig cause she got enough, but I stayed there and of course I�m so happy about that now! Even I have many bruises on my arms, legs�. Everywhere. I also couldn�t breathe well in sometime but so what ;D They were playing so damn well and Ville was singing so amazing! I really mean it, I love all HIM records but they sound even better on live! Those songs from DSABH sound so great on live!!!! Ville & Mige were looking each other and I could see their looks.. hehe they were a bit of surprised somehow ;D heh. There was one part on Please Don�t Let It Go where Mige was also singing with Ville and I realised that they both were laughing cause Mige forgot to sing and then Ville looked at me and smiled and then he looked at Mige. It really felt like we had for a short time connection between Mige & Ville & I . Mige had some �angels� close to him and there was also some pics of �Jesus� on the stage ;D When they left after playing 16 songs we (crowd) started to clap our hands and yell �WE WANT MORE! WE WANT MORE!� (yeah, in English ;) And some minutes after they came back to stage and Ville had A HUGE grin on his face and he was laughing when he said � I was just going to sleep my hotel room but then I realised that I wouldn�t get sleep cause you yell so damn much!!!� :D That was sooooooo funny and everyone laughed :D heh. By the way, there was also some Russian & German girls in that gig. When they played Close To The Flame I finally did something: D I throw Mars chocolate bar to the stage pretty close to Ville & Mige too. And I saw Ville looking to the ground right there where that Mars was and he smiled ;D Mige was sitting and playing bass and when he got up and came back close to me he saw Mars and took it his hand. Ville started to smile and said �Mikko got a chocolate bar!!!!!!!� And then Mige said � You can eat this� Ville said � Unfortunately I can�t eat it cause I got pickles for that� I was like �OH MY GOSH!!!� Cause they react to MY chocolate bar :D I�m not sure what happened to my Mars after that, there was written short message to Ville on that Mars�so I hope he got it :D hih. When they played Poison Heart I was singing like a mad and one girl was looking at me like �What the hell is she doing, how can she know that song?� ;D I was so proud cause there wasn�t many who knew that song:D But of course I knew it. Hehe. The end was close and Ville was starting to introduce the last song, some people were yelling song names like �Rebell Yell� �Enjoy The Silence� and so� Ville laughed and said � We can�t play them anymore� ;D heh. Ville said that they chose the last song by their selves and he said that the song is �National- Melancholic � or something like that and some people yell to Ville � How long is your list? (she/he meant that adjective thingy) And Ville said �My list is fucking long� or so ;D hehe. And then they started to play When Love And Death Embrace and I was feeling so great, I was watching Ville and singing and listening of course. Ville�s voice was more than beautiful, by the way he didn�t smoke so much in that gig and he didn�t also drink so much alcohol! Actually he was drinking some coffee! ;D heheh. Really! Ville went away from the stage and the others stayed and played last notes of When Love And Death Embrace� it was so amazing and I was like in heaven the whole gig! The gig was absolutely amazing and best evening in my life! Before Burton left the stage he threw his towel to the audience and Linde put his guitar close to those loudspeakers. And then they were gone (with the sin) and I was in heaven, Maija and one another girl came to me and I was just saying �It was so great, it was so great� And thank gosh they were there cause I was really feeling like I could lose control. After we got our jackets back I bought 2 beautiful shirts. Them are girlie shirts and that kind of long sleeved. So great! I love them much. When I & Maija were walking back to Miia�s & Jarsi�s place I was still in heaven and I�m still. The gig was amazing and HIM is surely my fav band. Now even more than before! And Ville is my God. Yeah. On next day (Thursday) we visited to backside Puijonsarvi again and then I went really close to HIM�s tour bus and took some pics :D heh. And I saw a sign on the wall � Private area� or something like that ;D I took pics and ran as fast as I could away ;D |
