The date should be the same in most European countries, but we haven't all confirmations yet. The track listing circulating from UK sources is not confirmed either, the correct listing will be published in the news here soon. 14.01.2003 FUNERAL OF HEARTS Release date (from Kaista...kiitos to Maiju) HIM has told to release Funeral of hearts single at 17th March from "Love Metal" album. Buried alive by love single's release date isn't clear yet. Video shoot Most of last week was spent shooting a video to 'Funeral of Hearts' with Stefan Lindfors directing. It all started with Ville in a rowing boat at the Arctic Ocean in Norway and ended at several outdoor locations near Helsinki. Everyone was having a great time although the temparatures sometimes dropped to -20 C! The final edit will be ready in the first week of February and it should be on your music channels before the planned single release March 17th in Germany and Finland. I won't give you the link because I don't wanna get any problems. But just search in Bams forum... 22.12.2002 BACK FROM LA (from Heartagram.com) The band got back from LA on Friday night. Tim Palmer's mixes sound great, there are totally 11 tracks on the album with almost one hour of new songs. Mastering is done in New York and the whole album is completed before the end of the year. Bam shot a video at the spectacular Los Angeles Theatre in downtown L.A. Juliette Lewis was the girl on the video and the track is called Buried Alive by Love. Here are some other songtitles: - Rescue (and Sacrament ?) - Redemption - Sullen (= Soul On Fire ?) - Pandemonium - Hellspawn (?) These titles were read from Mig�'s setlist from 07.09.02 (Black Salem gig). Please note, that Mig� uses to shorten the titles and draw pictures instead of some words ( ;) ) So these might be not the correct titles but just shortages or working titles! 01.12.2002 lots of news from Heartagram.com! PLANS FOR 2003: In a band meeting a couple of hours ago we made a grand plan for the next year. We'll be concentrating on Europe for much of the year. The new album will be out in April, followed by major European festivals in the summer. A full-fledged European tour is planned for the autumn, and this time in more intimate surroundings. Large clubs or smaller venues, two or even three nights in a row in major cities. NEW HIM VIDEOS We're planning to shoot two new videos in December / January for the forthcoming album. The first one will be shot December 15-18 in Los Angeles with Bam Margera directing. It will be mostly a performance video shot in an old theatre or church, but there will also be a storyline along with the performance. Juliette Lewis is set to be the female person in the story. The second video will be done in the beginning of January in Finnish Lapland. Stefan Lindfors is directing and there will be lots of surprises, wild horses and savage Lappish wolves in the fairy-tale story. One of these videos can be expected to start showing towards mid-February (note by Vicky: all of you who don't like Bam: think of what he has done for the band...the Philadelphia gig for example!) HIM IN THE U.S. After a long wait we finally got a confirmation from Universal Records that they will sign the band in the U.S. and the first nationwide release is preliminarily planned for February. We're also working on the merchandising to make it available in North America and especially to get the pirates out of the market. The worst ones seems to be www.heartagrambelts.com, who are ripping everyone off with their lousy designs and claiming that they have rights to Ville's heartagram logo. 24.11.2002 VILLES BIRTHDAY Well, as you all know, Ville had his 26th birthday on November 22nd..That evening, Seppo wrote thank you words for all the presents and birthday letters for Ville at Heartagram. He told, that everything will be forwarded to Ville. Have a listen to what they say on www.himonline.co.uk.There's also a new ecard from the UK RCA at Click2Music. 02.11.2002 RECORDING AND TOURING NEWS from Heartagram.com Ville, Mig� and the recording sessions engineer Hiili spent a few days at London's Sphere Studios mixing two tracks for the fourthcoming album with the English, LA-based producer Tim Palmer. The songs sound fantastic and the album mix will start with Palmer in Los Angeles December 2nd. Tim Palmer has produced among many other things Ozzy's album Down to Earth and the current single Dreamer/Gets me Through. He was also nominated for Grammies for his mix of U2's album All You Can't Leave Behind.The album should be finished by the end of the year and the release is tentatively now set for April followed by a Festival tour in the summer of 2003. There will be no touring before June, but a full-scale European tour is planned for the autumn 2003. FAN MEETING According to The Heartless, there will be an international fanmeeting in Hamburg in March. The meeting will be for 800 people, and the band will appear there to play new songs. The new single will be released in March aswell. This info is not confirmed yet! Please use Burton interview as subject in your e-mails. 21.10.2002 Here comes the proof that boulevard-press is boulevard-press and its as braindead in Finland as in other countries. Taken from The Heartless: FINNISH TABLOID PRESS AGAIN... Finnish Ilta-Sanomat continued about Ville's so called "suicide" attempt again in Saturday's issue. In both the book and the interview this drunken incident from two or three years ago occupies only a few lines among many other stories and other incidents in the band's history, but the editors of Ilta-Sanomat picked this up as a headline and put it into their promo blurb as if it had happened the same day ... OK, that's what cheapo press does. Now another editor of the same paper called Katja Ala-Kurikka ([email protected]) is criticizing Ville in her column: "Idiot of the week - Ville only wanted attention. Ville Valo, you're an idiot. In your book you tell that you wanted to jump from the 13th floor. You wanted to jump 'away from it all', but your friends pulled you off from the balcony. For sure, your little fans are pleased. But how many dads and moms are pleased with you telling about your suicide attempt? You are a miserable model for the young." And she goes on and on in an auntie way telling at the end how her grandfather told her, that if you kill yourself you won't go to heaven. And just for respect and affection for grandfather she hasn't thought of jumping from from the balcony ... Would she have otherwise considered that ... is rubbish in her house swept under the carpet? And she's working for the same paper that took this minor detail out of the context and had headlines and blurbs screaming it all over the country. Guys are saying "It describes well this record's atmosphere"- First record was that kind Type O Negative- styled Gothic metal, second one was a lot more poppy and catchy and third one was every way softer material.- Fourth record will be totally different.Longer songs in Led Zeppelin & Black Sabbath mood.Something like 70s?- No, but longer songs and that kind of songs where guys can play a lot more than for example in last record. Last record was pretty tight tied(?) to pop-format. It's said that this record would be more like Greates Lovesongs Vol.666....- That's not true. 'Love Metal' doesn't remind any of our records.It's pretty new kind of HIM...Are you going to tour right after record releasing?- In Middle Europe festivals are starting already in May. The release is backed by a promo campaign including television, radio and print ads. 02.10.2002 Some news from Heartagram: The band are back at the Finnvox studios in Helsinki to record the 4th album with the working title "Love Metal" (surprise, surprise...). Hiili, who produced "Greatest Love Songs vol.666" is engineering.Mige and Linde are currently recording their parts and Ville will be doing vocals later on in October. The basic recordings of at least 11 new songs will be done before the end of the month. A couple of tracks will be mixed at the end of October in London by Tim Palmer (www.timpalmer.com) and the rest of the mixes are done in Los Angeles in November/December.The release can be expected in March/April.The single collection will be also released in Finland. Besides the show at the annual Obscuro Festival and lots of interviews and promotion the band had time to take an afternoon off at ancient Teotihuacan pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Okay...New Year's Eve gig...Susanne from The Heartless, got this information from a Susanna, who got it straight from Tavastia: It is almost certain that the traditional HIM gig WILL happen though somebody in Germany tried to get the guys play in Germany this day. Ville said "No way" to all offers from Germany and announced that they're going to play in Tavastia as long as Tavastia wants them, even if they're 55.Good boy :)! 08.09.2002 HIM played a secret gig yesterday night (7.9) under the name "Black Salem" , as a support act of "The Skreppers". They played a set of 45 minutes and only new songs!!!
