| Growing up in Liverpool in the 1930s, seven year old Liam (Anthony Borrows) is the youngest child of a loving and close-knit Catholic family. Money is tight, but Liam's life is a happy one. His mother (Claire Hackett) is caring and devout, and his father (Ian Hart) is a proud working man. But when the ravages of the Great Depression hit the Liverpool docks, Liam's father loses his job and, helpless and embittered, he embarks upon a desperate course of action that changes Liam's world forever. |
