Created and implemented group activities
for a learnered centered classroom. Acted as facilitator and evaluator
within the classroom. Creating in-class projects employing state
of the art technology including internet research. Created and hosted
activities geared towards building community involvement in the school
and classroom. An example would be the Greek
Festival , held in conjunction with our reading of Homer's Odyssey.
Created listening and writing activities modeled after the New York State
regents exam. Constructed lesson plans
and group assignments which required students to think critically about
assigned readings and created rubrics to assess the degree of mastery
obtained by the students. Implemented lessons that were constructed
to maximize each student's chances of meeting the goals of the ELA standards.
Offered both challenges and support in a manner that ensured each students
academic growth. Employed self evaluation techniques during the teaching
process to improve both on a personal level and professionally.
