NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

BRAZIL – 16 TO 23 NOVEMBER 2003

 

After achieving the excellent 6^th place at the last World Championships 1999 in Switzerland, Namibia has qualified to play in Pool A at this Championships in Brazil. This means that Namibia has to play the top five nations / teams in the World, being Brazil as World Champion, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Argentina.

Realistically, Namibia will have little chances to win against these Top teams, but this time around we want to win at least a set, and to achieve this, the team will fight until the last ball has been played  ( this is a trade mark for Namibia’s Fistball - that’s why Namibia has got an excellent reputation overseas and endless fans and followers around the globe). The crunch game in this group is against Argentina, who in both of the last two World Championships beat us in very close encounters in the play-offs. BUT this time, it is revenge time and for the first time, Namibia wants this place 5.
