TRAINS AT BOSTON'S SOUTH STATION

I took these photos of the trains at Boston's South Station on Thursday, August 10, 2000. I arrived there at around 12:34 p.m. on the Amtrak 930 9:27 a.m. train from Stamford, Connecticut.

#1 The Stamford station, from the northbound platform, looking south.
#2 A southbound Metro-North New Haven commuter train pulled into the station before my train arrived.
#3 Here's my train! It has two EMD AEM7's! The AEM7 is one of the fastest locomotives in North America! Wow!

# A centerbeam flat car, with lumber, somewhere on the way to Boston.
#2 & #3 The first locomotive that I photographed, when I arrived at Boston's South Station, was this switcher on Track 9.

#3 Amtrak Material Handling Cars (MHC) were on the track opposite my train. Note the yellow FRED end of train signal on the box car end.

#1 A door from the MHC above.
#2 My train is on the right track!
#3 The train that I arrived on!

My train arrived on Track 8!
