HomeSite HTML Editor
for Windows® 95
[ Version 1.2 is
FREE OF CHARGE ]
Here's the "About" window from the program:
The link above is no longer active!
( See below for reliable
sources to still download this free version from. )
This is a screen shot of "HomeSite" taken a long time ago
while I was editing my page about Hexadecimal numbers:
With HomeSite you can:
- Drag and drop image files into the editor page from the file list,
and it will automatically produce the whole IMG/SRC tag,
including
the height and width parameters!
- Highlight and drag code around in the editor window; just like in Wordpad.
- What more can I say? LOOK AT all the buttons and file lists that
you see on the screen above!
Note: The links on this page will open a SECOND
browser window if necessary
for "offsite" webpages
The Freeware program is NO longer directly available from the
author,
Nick Bradbury, and you cannot connect to the old "Dexnet" address!
There is, however, still (JAN 2000) a copy at the ZD Net
Software Library.
Download the program right now from their FTP site:
hmste.zip [ Size=509,041 bytes. Same file as
above, but inside a .ZIP ].
ftp://ftp.zdnet.com/pub/private/sWlIB/internet/publishing_tools/hmste.zip
If the link above fails,
write me for another location you can obtain HomeSite.
This is what you'll find inside the .zip file from above:
hs12set.exe [ Size=515,697 bytes; 10/24/96;
15:58 ].
This Install program can be executed from any directory.
Here's what you will see first when you run it:

Another feature that I like about Home Site is it's ability to do multiple
search and replace operations on all the files in a directory:
