Chi Chi is the wife of the galactic hero, Son Goku. She has two sons, Gohan 
and Goten. She and Goku were both 19 when they got married. Chi Chi's 
father, Ox King, promised Goku her hand in marriage after Goku had saved 
Ox King's castle. Goku soon forgot the betrothal, not even knowing the 
meaning of marriage. Years later, at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, Chi Chi 
and Goku meet up, and she asks if he still wants to marry her. He says sure, 
thinking it's something to eat! But despite his prolonged absences from home, 
they have a good relationship. Even though Chi Chi isn't seen in the series a 
whole lot, there are some really sweet scenes between the husband and wife. 
Chi Chi does complain, yes, but she still loves Goku very much. For Gohan, 
she has high aspirations. She wants him to study and be a great scholar. 
Despite many fanfictions' story lines, Gohan does not resent his mother for 
this. He WANTS to be a scholar. Chi Chi is very protective over Gohan, and 
becomes quite violent for his behalf. She usually disapproves of Gohan going 
off with Goku to train.
